I did my makeup trial with the owner, Alexandra, about a year prior to my wedding. I was intrigued by her lighter makeup coverage & more natural look. It went great, she was super chatty, friendly, & helpful! We talked to the whole hour with ease. I decided to move forward using her & emailed her to ask for some tweaks going forward (such as more lashes, a darker bronze color in my bronze Smokey eye, & more blush/countour) which she was more than agreeable to. I basically wanted to amp everything up a smidge but stick with the color palette. When she arrived to the wedding venue, she was seemed pretty cranky. The venue was hard to find & it was a small room so I figured she was just settling in. She was quiet throughout the day & sort of edgy with all of the girls (her second artist Chelsea was very friendly & chatty!). It was an uncomfortable vibe. Read moree & like to give the benefit of the doubt, but it was a very uncomfortable hour to be sitting there in near silence. When I looked in the mirror, I didn’t like my eye makeup at all. She had taken “darker” to almost completely black eye lids with the exception of the inner corner. I felt like it was too much for me & took over my whole face. When I said it was too dark, she seemed annoyed. It took 2 attempts to fix it (one involving removing all the eyelid makeup & starting over) & the end result was perfect! However, she made me feel like a burden & bridezilla. She kept sighing & saying “This is what you asked for, I’m just doing what you wanted”. When I said I had meant a darker bronze shade, she said “Idk what bronze means, do you mean the lighter color?”. I initially felt as though I was overreacting & being an anxious bride, but multiple girls commented on how rude she was to me. She made me feel as though I was doing something wrong asking for changes & her aggravation made me nervous as to how I would end up looking on my wedding day. In the end, everyone’s makeup turned out fabulous & we all felt beautiful, but it was a stressful, uncomfortable, & less than fun experience getting it done.
