Until the Waterford has a new events mgr, avoid it! What happened to us should never happen to anyone. While the venue is nice and the GM & chef are very good, the rest was a nightmare. 17 days before the reception for 200+, the events mgs tried to change the meal from plated to buffet. (The contract was signed 6 mos before & the contract min paid 5 before) She called the bride-to-be and put her in tears on her way to her final gown fitting. Going through Marriott we were able to speak to the GM who straightened this out. Unfortunately she couldn't fix the events mgr's incompetence. Nothing the hotel said it would set out (signage, menu cards, throws etc) was except for the cards with a photo of the Bride & Groom for each setting- and plates of fruit were set on top of these. Zero slices of the Groom's cake were cut or served. Even though it was displayed, guests were told there wasn't chocolate.
