My wife and I had our wedding at Alden Castle and could not be happier with the experience that we had. From the start, we worked with Candice from Longwood Venues to plan and coordinate the big day. Candice was extremely helpful in making sure that all details big and small were accounted for. She was incredibly patient with us as we went through the process and worked to understand our dream wedding vision and helped us execute our vision perfectly. The venue itself and the rest of the Longwood staff were equally incredible. We did not need to worry about a thing day of as the staff took care of everything and made sure nothing was missed. Chef Roberto, also from Alden Castle, was responsible for all of our meals and we couldn't be happier with how all of the food turned out. Between the venue, the support staff, and the food, we cannot recommend Alden Castle enough!

Alden was incredible to work with. Our coordinator Carolyn was beyond helpful every step of the way- from floor planning, to our tasting, to day of coordination. Nothing was too crazy to ask, and everything we wanted (including a pre-ceremony granola bar for a very hungry bride) was tracked down and provided! Nothing slipped through the cracks and she and her team made sure we had the wedding of our dreams. I wish I could do it all over again just to work with them again!

Alden Castle is a beautiful and elegant venue. From the moment we stepped in to see the Vintage Ballroom we were in love. Amanda P. helped us envision our wedding and we knew then we were in great hands. She also gave is great recommendations on what we needed, vendors she recommended as well as ideas on what to think about as we planned the wedding. On our wedding day, the staff was amazing and went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken cared of throughout the whole day. My husband and I were in awe to the attention to detail and service we received. We've received compliments all night about the food, service and overall flow of the wedding and it was all due to our amazing coordinator Candice K. She was great throughout the whole process and coordinated with our vendors. I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with to make our day extra special. A million thanks!

Stay away!! We had our wedding here at Alden Castle in the summer of 2017, for about 130 guests. Long story short the air conditioning broke the day of our wedding and the staff did not tell us, lied to our guests about it, and did nothing to make guests comfortable or fix the situation. Bartenders were rude to our guests (I don't blame them as they were hot as hell and shouldn't have had to work in those conditions). All of our guests were very uncomfortable and we had people leave early. I thought how dissapointed/mad/upset we were about the whole thing would fade with time, but it hasn't. Looking back at our wedding photos and seeing people clearly sweating makes us upset to this day and always will. Still feel embarrassed for all of our guests, almost all traveled very far to be there. Would not recommend this venue or any other Longwood Venues location. Stay away unless you are going to spend $100,000 (then maybe they won't let something like that happen). A real shame... Read more because the physical space is beautiful, and food was great as well. I cannot express how AMAZING the staff at Alden was throughout the entire process planning our wedding. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication really made it effortless and stress free. Amanda and Michelle were incredible and we formed a friendship with everyone we encountered. They were all genuine and held our hands the whole way. Our wedding day was nothing short of incredible. Eliza was overwhelmingly helpful as our private concierge. The venues beauty speaks for itself. Minimal decor the ballroom is breathtaking!! Our guests are still talking about the food! The presentation was amazing and the hardest part was choosing what to serve as it was all exceptional!! If you are even considering using Alden as your vendor I more than HIGHLY recommend, I insist that you meet with them and fall in love instantly the way we did!!

I cannot begin to say enough great things about Alden Castle. From the moment my husband and I booked well over two years ago until our wedding this past weekend, Alden Castle has been amazing. We originally viewed Alden Castle first and immediately fell in love. The vintage ballroom is stunning and the neutral colors go with everything. Michelle told us everything we needed to know on this initial visit and even encouraged us to look at our venues so that we were confident. A quick tour at venues around Boston told us that Alden Castle was hands down one of the best. After our wedding, I can honestly say that booking Alden Castle was one of the best decisions that we made. The staff was unbelievably helpful and grabbed anything that we could have possibly needed. Our bridal attendant even got my husband and I a tray of appetizers for us to enjoy after running around taking pictures...needless to say we were blown away from the start of our reception! We could not have been more thrilled with Alden Castle for hosting our wedding earlier this month. Candice was an amazing coordinator to work with- super professional and the kindest human. She really made sure all the details were taken care of and was quick to respond throughout the process. Alden Castle ended up being the perfect space for our wedding- beautiful venue, excellent food, friendly/helpful staff, and overall smooth execution on the day of. Would highly recommend to anyone!

The moment my fiancé (now husband) walked into Alden Castle we fell in love. We were greeted by the bubbly Michelle Sagi (in her rockin' heels) and given a thorough tour of the venue. Michelle's passion for Alden was evident throughout our meeting; she was so thorough and knowledgeable but most importantly, genuine. Amanda, our planner was equally fantastic. We also received many compliments about the venue itself and how beautiful it was. Alden is unlike most other venues in the city; it doesn't need a lot of décor to be beautiful; the space speaks for itself. With our added décor, flowers and votive candles throughout, and the space was simply stunning. It felt romantic but on a very organic level. We had a wonderful experience working with Alden Castle. We got married in the Vintage Ballroom, then had our cocktail hour on the balcony, and then returned to the ballroom for dinner and our reception. (If there is no other event going on, you can have your cocktail hour in the Modern Club for a small extra fee.) We met with Michelle when we first saw the venue, and once we signed the contract we were matched up with Amanda, our event coordinator. She was the perfect mix of helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. She worked with me throughout the 6 months of planning and always made time to answer an email or have a phone call with me. I never had a sense of how many other weddings Amanda had going on in those weeks/months because she really made us feel as though we were the only couple she was working with. Read more) There was another wedding that evening going on in the other room (the Modern Club, their slightly smaller space) and I was very nervous when I found out about that a few months before my wedding. I had wanted to get married at Alden partly because it is such a beautiful, unique venue that doesn't feel like a wedding factory. But on the day of, we wouldn't have known at all that there was another wedding going on. Alden Castle is the best of both worlds because it is a stunning, unique space that is backed by a top notch staff all around. I will also note that some people might be nervous about the pricetag at Alden, but if you add up all the amazing benefits of Alden that are included- in house catering with fantastic staff; a built in event planner; chairs, ivory linens, nice silverware, glassware, etc at no extra cost (unless you want to upgrade, but we got no pressure to do so)- I think it is a great, surprisingly affordable option. AND you can have REAL candles!

We chose Alden Castle for our July 23, 2016 wedding for both the ceremony and reception and it was the best choice we made! From the initial meeting to see the venue with Michelle to working with Amanda throughout the process and then working with both Amanda and Eliza the day of, everything went smoothly and my husband and I felt so taken cared of! Amanda made adjustments to the time line throughout the process as information fluctuated and was always so quick to respond to my emails and questions. We held out June 2016 wedding for 180 people at Alden Castle. We used both the Ballroom (for ceremony and reception) and Club Room (for cocktail hour). The space at Alden is absolutely beautiful and really the first reason we had for choosing this as our venue. The space itself is so elegant and has a feeling a seclusion despite being easily accessible to Boston. Very little extra decor is needed. We worked with Michelle in Sales and then had Kirsten, followed by Amanda as our event specialist/day of coordinator. Everyone was so professional and kind, really excellent customer service. Occasionally it took a little while (a few days) to hear a response to an email, but overall everyone was wonderful to work with. We also went with Alden because there is much more flexibility about menu and timing of your day compared to other venues we looked at (mostly hotels). We incorporated some unique aspects into our wedding and they always were willing to work with us to make things happen. ... Read more Another major point for Alden is the food. So good! I had several guests tell me that the food at Alden was the best they have ever had from a wedding. It really was all delicious. However, some guests told us they had a hard time getting passed apps during the cocktail hour, as servers would only make it a few steps out of the kitchen before running out. Something to keep in mind if you are having a bigger wedding. The dinner service was flawless. They served the whole table at once and every dish was hot, something that does not always happen with catered food. Overall I would highly recommend Alden Castle! All the staff were so good at their jobs and made the day run so smoothly. Even keeping track of my bag and veil for me so I didn't have to move things from room to room. After Amanda left, Izzy was helping us the rest of the evening. Such a sweetheart! If anything went wrong that day I certainly didn't know about it.

Alden Castle is an amazing place to get married. It is absolutely beautiful and the staff is a pleasure to work with. My wedding planner did most of the direct communication with Alden leading up to the big day, but the times we did interact with the staff there (for our initial viewing and a later tasting appointment), we were extremely pleased with their work. On the big day, Alden had several staff members on hand to make sure everything went right on their end. Our guests loved the venue, the food, and the service. They even assigned us a staff member to make sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I never had to go to the bar, but we were never without a drink when we wanted one. She also made sure to let us know when our meals were served so we could avoid the major reception pitfall: not eating because you want to talk to everyone so much. Overall, Alden was amazing and I highly recommend having any event there.

Finding a venue to support a guest list of up to 200 people without going broke and staying in Boston is no small feat. Many of the venues my fiancé and i look at were either too small or far too expensive or too far out of the city (85% of our guests were from outside of Boston and it didn't seem fair to us to make them fly to Boston and then drive to some of the beautiful estates on the cape or in western Mass). When we found Alden Castle it felt too good to be true. The vintage feel with beautiful wood was both dramatic and in some ways a blank slate for any color palette. There was space to do both the ceremony and reception, and we could additionally add a second room (the club house) to do our cocktail hour. And, best of all -- it was in our budget. My only hesitation was that in looking online there weren't many weddings I could find that had the same elegant but also light and whimsical with soft neutrals feel, which I envisioned. It seemed that most brides that had booke... Amanda, who was our day of coordinator was flexible with me when we wanted to have a mac and cheese bar upstairs (never been done before), when we wanted the band at the back of the room by the mirrors (also rarely if ever done before), when I changed the large table and high-low ratio a thousand times, when I panicked that our guest list was too long, when I wanted the tables moved back from the dance floor a little more...
