  • This venue is absolutely stunning and we are still hearing from our guests how lovely they all though it was. It was one of our favorites from the beginning of our search and I am so glad that we decided to use them for our wedding ceremony and reception. Larry and Sidonee (the owner's of the venue) were very pleasant and professional to work with. This is one of the more expensive venues that you will find, but it is also very unique in that it shows off the natural beauty of the hill country area.

  • Excellent and unique venue! Many of my guest kept complementing on how great the place was. Anthony, the dedicated DJ and coordinator for the venue was also amazing. He kept the everything flowing smoothly the whole night, so that we could enjoy ourselves. He kept the dance floor packed as well. Sidonee, the owner of the Vista, is one of the nicest people you'll meet. She was super flexible and helpful throughout the whole process. I highly recommend this venue!

  • I feel horrible that it's taken me over a year to write this much deserved, positive review. VoSH was such a wonderful venue for our wedding ceremony and reception. When we initially began looking for our venue, we saw several venues. Many were cute, beautiful, charming, and all those other adjectives you'd expect, but either their prices were outrageous, or they just didn't quite feel right. Once we saw the Vista, we knew that this was different than the other venues. It just felt like "us", and we were glad to find out that the prices were reasonable, too, given that we'd both had such a strong reaction to seeing the place. Sidonee Seward is a sweet lady and has things so well organized. Anthony, their in-house DJ, made things so much simpler than having to have an outside vendor to coordinate with. He not only handled the music (and out up with my painstaking requests), but also acted as sort of an assistant event organizer making sure things went smoothly. We had over ... Read more

  • I had my wedding at the Vista last summer and it was perfect!! I had a feeling when I found it online initially that this could be the one! And it was - we signed up to book our wedding their that same day! The setting is garden-like and provides a lot of nice scenic areas and was exactly what I was looking for in a venue. All of our guests even commented on how beautiful the venue was! I also loved that so many of the details were already taken care of and were included in the cost of the venue. We didn't need to worry about renting chairs, tables, a DJ, a wedding planner or any of those annoying details! The venue was great the day of the wedding - the DJ/wedding planner helped guide everything along - we didn't have to worry about a thing! We were annoyed at first that they only let you use approved caterers off of their list; but in the end when we did, it was perfect. We used Crave and since they cater at the venue pretty regularly, they knew all the logistics of how the... Read more

  • My husband & I were married here in April of 2009. It was very important to me that we found a venue with charm & warmth. I wanted our guests to feel welcomed & relaxed for our celebration. The Vista on Seward Hill exceeded all of my expectations! In addition to the beauty & charm of the facility itself, the owners made our planning a breeze! They were so helpful, & friendly! We recently celebrated our 6th anniversary, & I called to see if we could pop in for a walk down memory lane. Larry & Sidonee not only welcomed us, but they had music, lighting & all the charm turned on for us so that we could relive our wonderful wedding night! It was such an amazing experience to be able to go back & walk through all the memories, just the two of us!

  • Venue was beautiful and I received so many compliments on the venue. The coordinator provided by the venue was a very slow in responding to emails and was slightly scattered during the rehearsal.

  • Vista was fabulous! Sidonee and her husband Larry immediately became part of the family and were willing to accomodate our needs immediately. The grounds are natural and beautiful- no fuss, just the beauty of trees, flowers, gardens, fountains and lantern lights. On several occasions they allowed me to bring various vendors up to walk thru and make plans. No extra cost, just needed a phone call and they had things open and lights on ready for us. The day of was spectacular! I will sing the praises of Vista on Seward Hill to anyone that will listen!

  • The Vista on Seward Hill was the best place to have our wedding. Wonderful choice. I got so many compliments on how beautiful and unique it was. The setting is very romantic and everything I wanted. The only thing was probably the cost for the amount of time you are allowed to use the facility. We had to pay extra to have an extra hour. A plus is that it is already so nice and decked out that you don't need to worry about much decoration. They really keep the place up and looking beautiful. We were fully satisfied.

  • The Vista is just beautiful. We had spent 2 weeks viewing venues from here to Fredricksburg to no avail, and then stumbled by chance on the Vista at a friend's recommendation. We booked it almost on the spot. The price was right, they included a lot of extras (chairs, tables, lighting, etc.) and they had the right date available. The only drawbacks are that Larry and Sidonnee (owners) are sometimes a bit difficult to work with (they like to be in control!) and you have to use their "preferred" vendors for catering and DJ (the DJ was horrible). Otherwise, it was the perfect choice for us! The only drawbacks are some of the restrictions they place on the venue. You can't use sparklers, they are really hard-nosed about timelines and making sure you are only there for your time slot and not a moment before or after. We had to buy 2 extra hours at $500/hr due to another vendor's screw-up. The florist could not set up in the time slot we had booked for the Vista, so we had to buy the extr... Read more

    responded with the following comments.

We wanted to take the time to respond to your comments and we wish we had been able to discuss these issues before your event. We choose to work with our preferred caterers because of the bad experiences we have had in the past with restaurants and other caterers being unfamiliar with catering events. We allow sparklers at your event for your wedding party only (unless there is a fire ban) and apologize if our DJ did not meet your expectations. Then to stay fair to the venue, vendors, caterers, and bartenders it is important to say on a timeline. The $500 per hour charge is actually to extend your event, not for your caterer or florist to come in early. Although there is a charge for certain vendors or bridal party coming early to the facility, we typically only charge a hundred dollars per hour for this. Please feel free to contact us directly about this dispute and we hope you've been well since.

  • The Vista is a beautiful, secluded location just perfect for a small, intimate wedding. The owner is somewhat friendly but not very flexible. You'll pay a lot for a short amount of time. A one hour rehearsal was supposed to be included in the total price, but no one was on location to let us into the facility, so we had the rehearsal outside with no sound check. Other than that, it's a great place.
