  • We fell in love with The Old Mill after our first visit back in 2018 and wasted no time booking our date because we knew we had found the PERFECT place to say "I Do". From the lush secluded meadow, to the babbling creek and ivy covered stonework, we were beyond excited for the beauty this venue packs into such a small footprint. The photo opportunities are endless!! We spent the next 2 years planning our dream wedding, which went surprisingly smooth (for someone as unorganized as myself). Don, Taylor and the rest of the Conner Catering team made the whole process unbelievably easy and enjoyable, and were available at the drop of a hat for any questions (which was a lifesaver, because we had a ton of questions!)   • My husband and I had our wedding here May 30th, 2021. Donald Conner and his staff are seriously incredible, he is a perfectionist with a high attention to detail. All of the staff from his assistant Christine, his bartenders, waitstaff and everyone in between were so kind, helpful and seemed to truly love what they do, which after an uncertain year, was really refreshing and welcome on our wedding day! Don was really flexible and helpful when it came to the ongoing changes of Covid restrictions, we met 3+ times due to the changing restrictions and Don did not bat an eye, and kept us personally up to date and gave advice along the way. We also had the coldest weekend in May, which also caused more logistical changes the day before, and again, Don gave his opinion, but also supported our decisions and helped with last minute changes and logistical updates, keeping us at ease with the insane weather!   • Due to covid, our entire wedding changed over the course of a few months. The venue was extremely flexible and incredibly helpful with keeping up with health guidelines. They went from being our reception venue (indoors) to being our ceremony and reception space (entirely outdoors). Not only is the staff wonderful, but the site is exceptionally gorgeous. Everyone complimented how beautiful the scenery was and our photos turned out absolutely amazing. The only downside to this venue for those who are looking for a late night party is that Rose Valley is a residential area that has very strict alcohol and music policies. If you are looking for a late night party reception, this is not the spot for you. I would 100% recommend this space to all of my friends. It was perfect.

  • The Old Mill and the Conner Catering Team were a dream to work with. When we originally booked with them two years prior, we had anticipated a larger wedding with nearly 250 guest. As COVID hit, they did everything in their power and within safety to ensure we were still able to have our special day. Although we cut our guest list back, made multiple changes to ensure our guests were safe, the team at the Old Mill were very responsive, flexible and quick to make sure we could have the wedding we dreamed of. The day of events went beautifully and smoothly, and the food was amazing! Its a night I will never forget. Leading up to the big day, we did have several meetings with Don, who walked us through all our options and costs to ensure our budget was met.   • The Old Mill is a breathtaking venue! From the stone courtyard covered in ivy to the field right next to the stream this location and company was everything we hoped it would be and more. Conner Catering is a phenomenal company. Donald was always able to hop on a call with us or schedule a meeting if we needed to talk. Having a wedding in the middle of a pandemic is more than stressful but they took as much pressure and stress off of us as they could and on our wedding day it truly did not feel like we were in the middle of a pandemic! At the Old Mill you don't get a folder filled with different wedding packages, instead Donald tells you to run free with your wedding dreams and they will make it happen! We had a mishap with our wedding cake and it was completely ruined when it arrived at the venue and Donald took it upon himself to call every local bakery to find us a new cake. When he couldn't find one he himself ran out to Giant and bought a bunch of cakes to facet a new one for us! ... Read more

  • My husband and I got married this August (2020) at the Old Mill. I couldn't say enough how amazing our day was. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, and has a great alternate plan for inclement weather (the pavilion is GORGEOUS!). The food is just AMAZING -- I am vegan but my husband is not, so we had a mixture. Vegans and non vegans alike said all of the food was amazing! They even had vegan snacks waiting for me in the bridal suite. They definitely make their couples feel special!! The service staff was incredibly friendly and professional! They allow you to supply your own alcohol which helps you save some money too! We communicated mostly with Donald and Taylor.   • I've been fortunate enough to attend a couple weddings here and have fallen in love with its vaulted ceilings, wooded outdoor area, and old stone. My photos don't do it justice, but the caterer did a great job integrating their setup and taking advantage of the natural beauty of the venue. I can't wait to see the progressional photos!

  • The Old Mill and Conner Catering did an incredible job making our wedding day so special and memorable. After 2 date changes in 2020, they worked so hard to help us have the wedding we always wanted- from extra tents and outdoor dinner, safety protocols, professionalism, and a number of meetings, we had the best day. The Old Mill is a beautiful space and we can't say enough good things about Conner Catering's team and staff. Recommend 10/10 !

  • I honestly haven't stopped crying since May 28th. Our wedding was suppose to be May 1st 2020..they say if you want to see god laugh tell him your plans. With Covid and capacity restrictions to mask mandates what couple wouldn't be anxious leading up to their day? Honestly the words THANK YOU are not enough for Don and his crew here at the Old Mill. Don reassured us many times leading up to the day that everything would work out, and that is in no small part because of Christine! You are a godsend, without you that day I wouldn't have known my left from my right. You took great care of my mother and father that day as well. I am eternally grateful for you. If you have the slightest reservation about booking with The Old Mill, let it go. They exhibited extreme professionalism throughout the entire planning process, and the day of the wedding, to make this the best day of our lives. From answering my million questions to providing great ideas while planning, their team was unmatched...they almost treated us like their own family members. People were RAVING to us about the food and the venue and how beautiful everything was. Not only that but everything was PERFECTLY on time. We had so much time to dance and have fun :).   • I cannot say enough good things about The Old Mill. Without a doubt, this was one of the best choice we made. During the entire process, Don and Taylor of Conner Catering were amazing. When we first toured the Old Mill and met with Don, he was very helpful. My family has very little experience planning weddings, so he helped guide us. After we booked, Taylor and Don were great with details and giving us suggestions. Without their expertise, the wedding would not have gone as well as it did. The day of the wedding, things got a little messed up because 95 was shut down-- delaying the wedding party 1.5 hours. Don was very flexible and made sure everything was okay to extend an hour. The food was AMAZING. We received so many compliments about the food. During the process, we were worried about staying under budget for food, but still having a tasty meal.   • I cannot say enough of how much we loved getting married at The Old Mill. Donald was kind and fun to work with and unfortunately we started to hit some problems after Covid rules started to affect the wedding. Don and his team were able to make everything work and as things got closer we had to move things outside and only have 25 people inside when the reception was supposed to be all inside. He ordered tents to put up outside and was able to make so many requests work such as the courtyard free for dancing. Unfortunately there were added costs. We had no idea we were going to be charged for the tent because we needed to move everything outside last minute and the cost was going to have a huge impact on our budget. We were not notified we were supposed to pay and thought they were paying for it.   • It has taken us a week to decide whether or not we wanted to write this review. Last Friday, June 26, 2020, we were originally scheduled to be married at The Old Mill. As everyone is aware, the final PA counties went green on the 26th. Being faced with making a decision weeks in advance of that, we felt it best to cancel as we wanted to protect our family and friends and the Old Mill had limited dates available (unless we wanted to postpone for a significant amount of time) and we had selected this venue specifically for the outdoor spaces at this time of year. Through that decision, regardless of pre-covid contracts, we had hoped that businesses would be reasonable in their approach to working with people who were already faced with such upsetting circumstances. All other vendors we had contracted with for our original date were flexible and accommodating in providing refunds, particularly if they could not offer us future options that met the expectations we had originally agreed upo...     Hello Megan, Thank for taking the time to share your review. While we understand that your reasoning for leaving the review is because you are upset you did not have your non-refundable deposits returned, we feel as though it is very unfair that you would make a blanket statement that we are not flexible and not professional with couples dealing with COVID-19 just because you feel as though you were entitled to a return of your deposits. As you know, we have a non-transfer policy outlined at the time of booking. This means that as a standard, deposits are non-transferable to another date in the event of a postponement. We completely revised our policy for events that were impacted due to COVID-19. All deposits paid for both the venue and catering would transferred to the new date. There is no restriction on when that new date can be (ie later that year or even into 2022). All quoted pricing remains and would be honored for your new event date and there are no postponement fees. We also revised our cancellation policy, which you failed to mention and we find unfair. By contract, there are also additional financial obligations that are required in the event of a cancellation. Again, we revised this policy for events that were impacted due to COVID-19. We waived all additional financial obligations as outlined in your contract in the event that the client cancels. We feel it important to mention that the deposits that you are required to pay are minimal in comparison to the final event cost. A $400.00 deposit for the venue and $2,000.00 for catering (paid over a series of small deposits-not all at once). The $2,000.00 in catering deposits are retainers covering our time spent since November 2018 (in your case) on your event. Even in the event of a cancellation, our team members deserve to be compensated for their time spent planning, corresponding, meeting. We DO NOT require clients to pay half of their event total up front, not even 25% as most catering companies do. This is a point we find important to mention in the context of your review, as again, it is misleading and paints a very inaccurate picture. You were very aware at the time of cancellation that your deposits were non-refundable, stating that you understood that you stood to lose the money. It wasn't until your event date came, 3 months after the time of cancellation, that we received an email from you on June 26th that you feel as though your money should now be returned because looking back you wouldn't have been able to make accomodations with dress fittings, etc. Your entire event was planned at the time of cancellation, so from a catering and venue perspective we had done all of the planning. Any final meetings to cover last minute questions, etc.. could have easily been accomplished via zoom or phone consultations. It's very confusing to our team why we received multiple emails from you where you stated multiple times how appreciative you were for "all of the help you have provided us so far, and continuing to work with us in getting our questions answered" and "thank you for all of the help you have provided us in the planning over the last year, as well as while we all try to navigate these unfortunate circumstances", yet now you have changed your tune so drastically and we have been really inflexible and unfair in working with you? Again, we're sorry that things did not go as planned and you chose to cancel your event, which we fully understood. Wishing you nothing but the best moving forward.
