  • My wedding was 5-8-21 and I had Paulina and Abigail for hair and makeup. The level of professionalism was outstanding and they truly cared about what my bridal party wanted. Paulina was extremely patient and understanding of my mothers sensitive skin and my mother was so happy and thrilled with her work. Abigail was also extremely patient with my mother in laws who wanted specifics for her hair and I was super impressed with how Abigail handled my mother in law she was FANTASTIC. Both were amazing and I could not be more thrilled with their work I would recommend them 100x over. As for me, the bride, they did everything I could have dreamed of and more. My makeup was flawless and Paulina even covered a spot on my back.

  • We hired the Makeup Addict for all of the beauty services for our small family wedding ceremony and the experience was amazing. Ambria made the entire planning process seamless from start to finish and was incredibly responsive to all of my communications as well as to changes in the schedule and to our hair / makeup needs. Her hair and makeup artists were amazingly talented and very professional - I was blown away by how they flawlessly executed all the different looks to make everyone look absolutely amazing (from our sweet flower girls to my more dramatic style). Overall, working with Ambria and the Makeup Addict was an amazing experience and I highly recommend them to any bride!!

  • Ambria and her team made me feel so beautiful for our small intimate wedding! I am so particular about my makeup and Ambria did a fantastic job! She listened to what I wanted and how I typically like my makeup personally and made it that much better! I will continue going to her for any events that I may need my makeup done!!!

  • Ambria and Stacia KILLED my hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and I. They were both very easy and accommodating to work with (changing schedules last minute it seemed!), were very professional in their work, and were enjoyable to be around all morning when we were getting ready! I would recommend over and over!

  • The ladies from the makeup addict were absolutely amazing. They true professionals who know how to work with diverse skin types. Myself, my bridesmaids and my mother all looked flawless. I would highly recommend them. It was wonderful to feel beautiful and pampered on the big day. The only recommendation I would make is if all your girls have long hair ask for more than 45 minutes per head. We ran about an hour behind but in the grand scheme of things it was well worth the wait!

  • I was in a wedding party this past weekend and the hair and makeup team were AMAZING!!! They arrived early to setup and completed everyone early enough to stick around for touch ups before the ceremony. Our makeup was flawless and it stayed throughout the day into the evening. The hairstylist listened to what we wanted and executed every style perfectly. I can’t say enough great things about them. If you are looking for a hair and makeup team, BOOK THEM!!!

  • I chose this company not only for their great work, but also because they are extremely responsive and accommodating to my requests. Even though wedding season is super busy, they treated me like a client and not a number. I appreciate that because planning a wedding is stressful. I highly recommend them!!

  • Company was very unprofessional in the face of issues. First they switched both stylist 2 days before the wedding after a trial run. Secondly the morning of the wedding due to a medical emergency one stylist was not able to make it, this was relayed to the bride via email, not a phone call or at very least a text. The second stylist then could not make it. All communication the morning of was via text and the owner was not available and her assistant did not call. They were only able to replace one stylist and she arrived with half the time now and was not able to preform hair services that were paid for. Because this was their first encounter the stylist was not able to complete the visual the bride had for her hair, then leaving the bridal party to do her hair. The stylist was nice but the company set her up to fail and did not handle the situation in a professional manner.

  • Selena the hair stylist was extremly rude on my wedding day. I became Really upset when my eyelashes were falling off and I had to reapply makeup 30 minuntes after they finished. I was supposed to received a touch up bag that had the same makeup they used on me but they didn't bring this with them. This was an unprofessional group of ladies who did not come prepared.

  • I don't even know where to start. I found makeup addict on wedding wire and seen how highly rated they were and I was sold! I had no idea that they lack of communication and cancelations on their part would be so overwhelming. Due to covid and other complications from my stylist, my pre-trial run for hair/makeup was cancelled. I was very understanding and had no issues. Stuff happens and I didn't wanna stress over anything. Well over the time spand of the last 2 weeks before our wedding I sent at least 6 messages and 3 voicemails, just trying to get a confirmation for the day of the wedding. Everyone of my other venders, Dj, photographer had no problem responding to confirm or deny. Not the "makeup addict" though!! They informed me 3 days before my wedding at 7:30 at night they they can no longer provide services on our wedding day, due to " complications out of her control". I was shocked at the lack of communication. Especially considering I had tried to contact them multiple times. ... Read more

  • The best way that the bride could describe her entire experience with The Makeup Addict would be displeased. The first time she made a trial for her wedding, she was double booked and needed to reschedule. Since she was double booked, the owner, Ambria asked if the bride was able to do May 4th (11 days to the wedding). Since the bride was in a pinch, she agreed. Well, when May 4th came around, hair was scheduled for 4:30 and makeup was scheduled for 5:30. The makeup artist was early and came around 4:30, same time the bride showed up for her appointment. The hair stylist still had not shown up around 5:30 (an hour late), thankfully the makeup artist did so that the bride was able to see her trial makeup. 5:45pm rolled around and still, no hair stylist. The makeup artist called the hair stylist that was supposed to do the bride’s trial and she said that she was not going due to a migraine. The bride completely understood her reasoning, but was confused as to why she was not no... Read more

Thank you for providing your feedback. We appreciate it. There are a few things we’d like to clarify. Our number goal has always been and will always be to please our clients. We in no way intentionally disregard the needs of our clients. We understand the importance of the wedding day and what it means to the bride. In regards to the initial trial date that was rescheduled. It was not rescheduled due to being double booked. That was never stated on our end. There was a personal conflict with the artist which required her to alter her schedule which is why we asked if we could reschedule the trial date. On the day of the trial, the original hairstylist contacted us that afternoon stating that she developed a migraine and was unable to make it. That was unforeseen on both her part and ours. Not wanting to leave the bride without a hairstylist for her trial, we immediately went to secure a replacement. At that time, our main goal was to ensure that the trial still took place to prevent any inconvenience for the bride. With that being at the forefront of our mind, we failed to notify the bride of the last minute change. We apologized sincerely for that at the time. Since the trial is a 2-hour process for hair and makeup, at times the artists may switch start times if it works better for them on that day. The ultimate goal is that the trial still runs smoothly whether hair or makeup goes first. The makeup artist was able to arrive early to start at 4:30pm. We notified the bride that the hairstylist ran into traffic and would be running late along with the heavy rain that was currently taking place at the time which caused further delay. That was something that was out of our control. We did keep the bride in the loop until the hairstylist arrived for the trial. All of our artists are professionals who not only do weddings, but also work on a daily basis with clients and have for years. They are trained in how to provide a quality trial for a client. If a hair and/or makeup inspiration photo has not been sent to us by the client prior to the trial date, we have a mini 5-minute consult on what the bride would like before starting the trial. We do not use excessive force on the client’s face or hair. We also would not intentionally hurt the client or bring them to tears nor would we disregard what the client wants. Safety is also always a priority on our end for every client that comes on our premises. We never have and never will disregard a client’s safety nor will we ever say that to someone. That simply will not happen. The bride initially stated that she didn’t feel safe with people walking in and out. We were confused as the building, specifically our suite, is not a highly trafficked area. There are only 4 privately owned occupied offices in the suite. The only people who frequent that suite are the people who own an office. We also ensure that during all appointments the door is closed for privacy unless otherwise requested. Being that we are in the office on a daily basis, we are familiar with the amount of foot traffic that does and does not take place throughout the day. We would in no way compromise the safety of our clients. After the trial, both artists updated us on how it went. The hairstylist provided photos of the finished look. She also made sure to provide a side part instead of the middle part that was previously referenced in the review which was verified in the photos. The hairstylist did explain the confusion that took place with the bride in regards to the stylist for the wedding day. Immediately following the bridal trial, we reached out to apologize for the confusion and stated “It’s your special day and we want to ensure that you have the services for both you and your wedding party.” The bride requested another hairstylist to which we happily obliged and secured for her. We reached out to her the following day to inform her we secured another stylist for her wedding day. On Friday May 7th, her maid of honor reached out on her behalf to schedule a new trial. She initially stated Monday May 10th worked for the bride, which the new artist had availability that morning. We were informed that worked and we scheduled the trial. Later that day she followed up saying that the time no longer worked for the bride and she wanted an afternoon appointment. The only other afternoon the artist had available was on Friday of that week, which the bride stated didn’t work because her wedding rehearsal was that day. Although we’d love to be able to accommodate every day and time that the client requests, there simply are times when that won’t work due to other previously scheduled appointments. This was one of those times. We received an email that evening stating the bride wanted to cancel her wedding day services. We hate for any bride to cancel, but we do understand that it happens. We tried our best to accommodate the bride, because as stated to us...”you are the bride and you want to feel important.” That certainly was our goal, but we obviously missed the mark. Wedding season is always a busy season, but this year especially has been extremely busy due to the overflow from last year’s Covid brides as well as exponential business growth. With that being the case and customer service being our main focus, we created an automated message that goes out to each person who contacts us. That email is not generated towards certain individuals. Due to the volume of emails we receive daily, we simply aren’t able to respond to all emails each day. It was a business decision and not a personal decision. The bride did request a full refund, which was not granted as our contract simply states that any cancellations that take place less than 14 days prior to the wedding day will not be fully refunded. The bride will receive an 80% refund which is what was provided to the bride. We sincerely tried our best to accommodate you, the bride, in any and every way that we could. We certainly wish the situation could have turned out differently as we would have loved to be a part of your wedding day. We wish you all the best.

  • Very expert hair artist! Abigail was amazing. I tried 3 trials with other stylists unsuccessfully and Abigail was able to recreate my vision. Such talent. 🙌 The company itself was very flexible and accommodating, but note that they are on the more expensive end of vendors in the Raleigh area. Given this, I was a bit surprised that didn’t get back to us as quickly as we’d have liked, early on. That being said, once we started texting (vs emailing), we found them communicative. I would recommend Makeup Addict if budget is not an issue and you need expert, high-end, professional hair artists to do your wedding. I had 5 bridesmaid updos & 1 bridal updo. They charge a travel fee which was not noted until after, so you’ll want to be aware of that.
