I felt (and continue to feel) that Nathaly and her fiancé are a lovely couple and was happy to answer the additional questions prior to signing a contract. There was never rudeness on either side in my opinion. Nathaly had some concern about our max capacity (which is more than 150) and subjective questions such as if it felt crowded and also wanted detail where every table would be located. Since we are a year away, some things could change between now and then. There was some hesitation on my part to definitively answer these type of seating questions with 100% certainty due to the time frame. There were concerns about our DJ's (our five regular DJ's are all seasoned professionals). The conversation began to feel stressful to me and I found myself becoming defensive. Our motto is that the bride and groom " just need show up." The whole point is we want a stress free event for the couple and their families. We don't want stress for anyone, including our planning and operating staff. When a couple tours, we show the venue and go over our package. We never try to convince or persuade that we are the best venue for them, we also never denigrate other venues. I felt there was a desire for me to put to rest all concerns. However there is always the possibility for the unplanned or unexpected. We clearly outline our package and there must be some level of trust that we will fulfill that to the best of our ability. That is really the only promise I can make. There were signs from the conversation that we might not be the venue that would best suit their needs to put them fully at ease. We would rather turn away business than have a potentially unhappy bride on such an important day.
