  • Over a year ago I came across the Chimneys and noticed that there were no recent reviews. This made me a little nervous but I still made an appointment to go and take a look. This place is truly magical! My husband and I got married here this April during the peak of Cherry blossom season. The mountains provide an amazing back drop. The venue feels homey and the staff are truly amazing. We had a thunderstorm the day of the wedding and Kyle worked with us till the last minute to make sure our day was perfect! Even the weather jumped on board for a few hours for pictures and the ceremony. Words can not describe how beautiful this place is. If you are looking for a mountain retreat, where all your friends and family can have a great, relaxing time, Big Canoe is where you need to go! Kyle and her team really are rock stars!

  • My husband and I got married here a week and a half ago and it was perfect! All of our guests had great things to say. Here are a few things you should know... it’s a destination wedding and there isn’t much around the big canoe community (no nearby hotels) but there are plenty of cabins to rent and you can drive in a ways from Atlanta the day of, no problem. There is also lots to do in the community. The reception place is not one big room where you can see everyone and everything at once. It’s a few good sized rooms that open up to each other. It’s beautiful, homey, and unique and wasn’t at all a problem for us. We did a lot of our activities and dancing outside anyway! It’s well priced compared to a lot of other places I toured. Also, your pictures will be beautiful. The mountains are a stunning backdrop. Lastly, I had a good experience with the staff and the food was amazing! You have to use them for the catering but that’s definitely a win!

  • The Chimneys at Big Canoe is an amazing venue, and they have a great all-inclusive wedding package. The venue strictly use Talk of the Town Catering, but let me just tell you the food is amazing and well priced. The venue also uses Winey Blonde Events for the day of coordinator. Planning my wedding at the Chimneys at Big Canoe was the best experience. Everyone was super friendly and very responsive and I couldn't of asked for a better team for my wedding. I couldn't of asked for a more perfect wedding day!

  • I cannot say enough amazing things about The Chimney's! It was absolutely our dream wedding venue. My fiancé and I toured Big Canoe during for a bridal expo in January 2019. We fell in love with the The Chimney's location because of it's beautiful intimate setting overlooking the lake and under the trees. Most of our wedding guests and family would be coming from out of town so we loved the option to book cabins in Big Canoe and making it a relaxing destination wedding. Our wedding took place in early September, we couldn't have asked for better weather under the gorgeous canopy of trees and a light breeze blowing (we paid extra for the breeze 😉). The staff were all so sweet and accommodating making sure that the bride and groom actually ate during the wedding. We hired Talk of the Town and selected the BBQ option. I had several people rave about how wonderful the food was - especially the Mac and Cheese!! The passed Hors d'oeuvre during the cocktail hour were also a huge hit. We ... Read more

  • The Chimneys at Big Canoe was the absolute perfect choice for my wedding! My husband and I knew we wanted a venue that had water - a lake, a river, a waterfall, something - and ideally in the mountains. On the other hand, almost all of our family was coming in from out of state, so we didn't want to be too far from Atlanta. When we came up to visit the Chimneys, we were instantly in love. The venue was gorgeous, the food was amazing (still hearing about how much everyone loved it 90 days later), and Karen helped make sure that every single thing ran smoothly. The Chimneys is semi-all-inclusive, but totally you can change things to match exactly what you want. Bringing in your own alcohol was also a HUGE cost savings! We rented houses for the bridal party, and most of our family and friends also rented houses for the weekend. We had our Rehearsal Dinner at the Swim Club and were able to spend a weekend relaxing and having fun. I can't say enough wonderful things about thi... Read more

  • The Chimneys at Big Canoe was the perfect venue for our wedding day. We knew we wanted a destination wedding just outside of Atlanta and Big Canoe was exactly that. The Chimneys is a beautiful venue with a gorgeous patio covered by a large cherry tree. Indoors is a grand dining room and ballroom. Their caterer is Talk of the Town Catering who provided delicious food with an incredible staff. Karen, the on-site coordinator, was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was always available to answer questions and give advice. On our wedding day everything was perfect. Every detail was taken care of and looked amazing. The staff took great care of us and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

  • Big Canoe was the best location we could have possibly chosen for our wedding. Tara and Peggy were extremely responsive to every email and phone call and wonderful to work with, the cabin rentals were perfect for family and friends (and the bridal parties) to spend a weekend in the mountains, and most of all the setting was absolutely beautiful. The stone patio, the trees, the porch, and the chimneys were all so lovely and did not need too much decorating to make it feel personal. We highly recommend The Chimneys at Big Canoe to anyone and are so grateful to have celebrated one of the biggest days of our lives in such a beautiful space.

  • After much research The Chimneys of Big Canoe in Jasper, Georgia was a perfect fit for my vision, budget and guest count. One of my main requirements for the wedding weekend was to find a venue that was either local to hotels or held accommodations for all of my out of town guest. Much of my family was traveling from out of state or out of country. The Big Canoe community offered several options for home rentals, which were equally priced with the cost of a hotel. The second most important detail to my wedding was the theme. I chose a rustic theme for the ceremony and reception. The outdoor ceremony was located on a stone patio that overlooked the golf course. The receptions was held indoors, with room that had giant chandeliers. There was plenty of room for the 125 guest that we hosted. Tara Welch, Talk of the Town coordinator, was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely responsive via email. I chose not to outsource a coordinate, however Tara did an amazing job running through the de... Read more

  • When I stumbled across The Chimneys at Big Canoe in my online wedding venue search, I was intrigued. Pictures online made it look like a dreamy rustic venue tucked away in North Georgia. When I visited the venue, I fell in love. The online pictures did not do it justice. We quickly decided to go with The Chimneys at Big Canoe as our venue and I do not regret it. I enjoyed working first with Kyle and later with Kristen when Kyle was promoted. Kristen worked seamlessly with my wedding planner to ensure everything went smoothly on my wedding day. The outdoor ceremony area was beautifully shaded with green tree cover and the indoor reception space was glowing with a wonderful ambience thanks to the warm tones In the room and candles I brought in. Back outside, the twinkle lights set the perfect stage for dancing the night away. I highly recommend this venue for your wedding! I think the pictures speak for themselves!

  • The Chimneys at Big Canoe was an excellent place to get married. We were able to have the outdoor wedding that we had always wanted with the security of knowing we had a quick and easy back-up plan in case of bad weather. There are a lot of different ways you can utilize this space, and they will definitely work with you. The one major downside is that the music has to be turned off outside at 10:00pm (11pm if you're indoors). If you'd like for your party to go later than that, this isn't your place. But otherwise this is an awesome venue, and we are so happy we chose it.

  • A great backdrop for any reception or wedding. Professional service, quality staff, and enough space for 150 people to spread out in the venue to dance, eat, and socialize comfortably.

  • I booked the Big Canoe Chimneys for my wedding ceremony over Memorial Day weekend. The Chimneys are in a fantastic setting and I honestly did not have to do much décor because the beauty of the place itself speaks volumes. Working with Karen Gramlich, who is the event coordinator for the Chimneys, was a great experience. She always responded in a timely manner and was there to also help coordinate my ceremony rehearsal the day before. I rented a tent from Party Time Rentals in case of rain and the day of, we went back and forth on having the tent. The night before, it was 20% chance of rain. Okay, no tent! The morning of, it was a 60% chance of rain. Okay, we need the tent. And then, about an hour before, the weather changed again...down to 10% chance of rain. Party Time Rentals had already put the tent up and Karen called them back and had them take it down. She was so great about the entire thing and always had my best interest in mind. The day couldn't have gone better and I am so ... Read more

  • The venue was beautiful and they were very accommodating in scheduling of our event. All of our guests raved about our menu, although it took some time for us to decide on one as we were told one thing when we booked and another when we went to choose the menu. Overall our day turned out perfect but make sure that you are on top of every detail because we had a little confusion during the planning process. We appreciated them working with us though to make sure everything was great! It was so nice to have the space all to ourselves the day of our wedding and to be able to do exactly what we wanted to make our vision come to life!

  • I had an awful experience with this venue. Peggy is the "wedding coordinator" if you could even call her that. She should of been the one that helped me with everything since I was using their facility and she was assigned to be my coordinator. Honestly my photographer, yes my photographer did more than she did. She was rude, pushy, and not accommodating. I loved my photographer to death! If i did not have her there then my parents would of been the ones running around doing everything when its their day to enjoy being with me and the future husband. Peggy stood around twiddling her thumbs, and she does not have a professional appearance. Her assistant was no better she never was welcoming. As a bride i felt i was intruding and out of place. I didn't matter to them. The food was awesome: They have to use Talk of the town located in roswell! But they cater elsewhere so cater through them it was amazing!
