  • The Box House was simply amazing. The venue is beautiful and unique, and the views from the roof are spectacular! The entire team was friendly, responsive, flexible, and incredibly easy to work with, from the first email to the night of the wedding. And, THE FOOD! Wow! It was an exceptional meal that entirely exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have been happier with the venue, the people, the food, and on and on. Absolutely amazing!

  • First and foremost, can we just acknowledge such a beautiful view of the city from the rooftop? Although it was a rainy day during my bridal shower. We still had a rooftop event. Joe & his team made sure we were comfortable and warm with many heating options. Food was amazing! Definitely would recommend to family & friends.

  • I decided to host my 60th birthday party at The Box House Hotel, and I must say, what an ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! The team, the views, the food, the planning, were all on point. Joe and his team helped with everything from vendor arrivals, to deliveries, to planning out minute-by-minute the entire party. All of my friends and family could not have had a better time and would not let me forget how AWESOME The Box House Hotel is!

  • We just had our engagement party at the Box House Hotel. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. We were touring several event spaces when we stopped by the hotel for the first time. Joe, the events director, was kind enough to show us the rooftop without an appointment. We were immediately impressed by how cool and stylish the hotel lobby was. As soon as we saw the rooftop, it blew the other event spaces we had seen earlier out of the park. From the moment we began the planning process, Joe was there for us every step of the way, answering all our questions, providing us different options, and working with us to plan our dream event. The night of the engagement was absolutely fabulous. Joe, Steven (events manager), and the party staff put everything together perfectly and my mind was at such ease I didn't even feel the need to check in. Even with all the rain outside, the views of the city skyline remained a vibrant backdrop to our party. All our guests were instantly awed ... Read more

  • Wow, wow, wow. Thats really all I can say and all I have been feeling the past few weeks since my wedding. Everything was INCREDIBLE! My friends, family, mom & dad, and myself have not stopped talking and gabbing about what an amazing wedding we had on the rooftop at The Box House Hotel! Honestly, if you find your way to this page, just do yourself a favor and book, there is no need to look any further! Hotel & Staff: In a nutshell The Box House is just immaculate, super clean, spacious rooms, beautiful decor. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment we booked our rooms. They immediately brought us up everything we need whenever we needed it (steamers, extra mirrors, even a bottle of champagne ;)). The rooms are MASSIVE - all caps doesn't even do it justice! My girls and I had so much room to do all of our hair and makeup and get ready for my wedding day. Joe & his team: I honestly don't know what to say, they were PERFECT. From the moment I took my first t... Read more

  • Absolutely incredible venue, service, staff, food, and views! My wife and I hosted our 10th anniversary on the roof with 150 of our close friends and family and everyone was blown away! Joe took us on the initial tour and was very helpful in discussing spacial layouts, menu selections, decor, timelines and everything we needed. Honestly all we did was send out our invitations and book a band and a florist, outside of that Joe and his team took care of the rest. The space was set up beautifully the day of our party, we had a massive raw bar set up, the servers were incredibly professional and knowledgable, and the food was delectable. Really incredible space, no reason to ever look elsewhere if you're thinking about throwing an event!

  • My (now) husband and I fell in love and spent most of our relationship in Greenpoint and we really wanted to find a place to get married in our neighborhood. Our wedding was to take place in early April and after we toured the Box House Hotel rooftop we didn't look back and it was the best wedding planning decision I made. Everything about this place is perfect and EXACTLY what we envisioned. I couldn't recommend it more! TLDR: -The Box house is the best wedding venue find in NYC, maybe in the world. -Their events manager, Joe, is the best events manager in NYC, maybe in the world: he will be your wedding MVP- trust me. -If you want the most beautiful, stress free wedding in NYC, maybe in the world, get married at The Box House Hotel rooftop.

  • Overall we had a really positive experience with the team at the Box House and it certainly provided one of, if not the most value of the many many venue options we explored in NYC . We most appreciated the flexibility of the space to adjust to our needs and how helpful the team was with any last minute changes and day of coordination. We had a winter wedding and most of our guests were out of town so it was amazing to give them the option to stay right at the venue & the view from the rooftop of the skyline during the reception really made it for us and our guests.

  • My wife (still kind of wild to say) and I were married on November 16th, 2018 - on November 15th, 2018 there was a freak snowstorm. Needless to say, it was planes, trains, and automobiles for our friends and family to get there. It was as if NYC had never seen 4 inches of snow. But the Box House Hotel crew was on it - the night before there was snow int eh venue (to protect the retractable roof it was left open) less than 12 hours later it was cleared out as if NOTHING had happened. From then on we worried and wanted for nothing. Joe and Steven were exceptional, as were the servers, kitchen staff, and bartenders. Every person had a smile on their face and wanted you to know they were there to make your day special. From the roof of the venue, you see NYC as it should be seen - it's truly breathtaking. Our food was exquisite, the setup was simple and tasteful, and our external vendors had no issues the day of and leading up to. We were not the easiest couple, we're both project manager... • It was very rewarding watching the Box House Hotel expand their operations from the time we first met until the day of our wedding. At every step, Joe and his team made us feel welcome, and the day of, the crew were all consummate professionals.

  • "That was the best wedding I've been to" "This is the best view we've ever had at a wedding" "The food was incredible. Wedding of the year!" What a night. My wife and I were married on 9/28/18, with the cocktail hour and reception taking place at The Box House Hotel. The compliments from our guests were endless - from the food, to the view, the dance space, the ease of accommodations, and more. Simply put, it's a special place. It's not a standard wedding function hall, with countless weddings taking place. When you have a wedding at the Box House, the place is yours. It is you and your guests on that rooftop. Your closest friends and family experience the incredible views. And when it's over, the hotel practically feels like your own. It just has that vibe. That's what made everything special...it just felt like a fully catered (literally and figuratively) experience for you and your guests. Highlights: - Retractable roof allows for peace of mind and a great change of pac... Read more

  • This hotel is the reason you should be able to give 0 stars. If you booked your wedding there, good luck to you! Here's the TL;DR: I GOT STUCK IN AN ELEVATOR THAT SMELLED LIKE IT WAS ON FIRE FOR NEARLY 20 MINUTES ON MY WEDDING DAY, AN HOUR BEFORE THE CEREMONY. The hotel showed so little concern/sense of urgency about the situation that our photographer had to be the one to free us from the elevator!! Read on for a more detailed (but not exhaustive) account of our catastrophically bad experience with the BHH. It's long, but we promise it's juicy! To clarify: Though our wedding took place on the hotel's rooftop, our actual provider was (thankfully) the restaurant Glasserie, which was absolutely wonderful and saved the day. They delivered 100% on everything that was their responsibility and we cannot recommend them enough. On the other hand, everything that fell under the hotel's responsibility went so wrong that we felt compelled to create an account just to post this review. ... Read more
