  • I had a lovely wedding at the Tabard Inn. If you are looking for a beautiful space for an intimate wedding, this is your venue. Erin the special events coordinator was extremely helpful. The food was amazing and the service wonderful. I received numerous compliments on my choice of venue. I highly recommend splurging on the patio for your ceremony. My ceremony was romantic and beautiful.

  • My now-husband and I settled on the Tabard as the location for our ceremony and reception for several reasons: their food and wine selection is top notch, the event rooms' decor is quirky and unique and did not require many flowers, they are located in downtown DC, and we were able to have the ceremony and reception in one spot. Erin, the special event coordinator, was incredibly helpful about every aspect of the planning process. She was able to recommend vendors (all of whom were very professional and very reasonably priced, for DC), menu items that weren't on the catering menu, and wine choices based on our preferences. She made the big day go so smoothly, and only came to my husband and me for questions if she absolutely had to. She helped make what can be a very stressful day into one of the least stressful I've ever had. Our guests raved about the food, wine, and wedding cake - I received many compliments about how it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding! There are ... Read more

  • The Tabard Inn was an excellent value for a small reception. Unfortunately the room cannot hold more than 40 people, but the food was very very good and the location was perfect. The staff was always very responsive and accommodated our special requests. We also hired a piano player the Inn recommended (Warren Butler) to play in the background and he was wonderful as well.

  • The Tabard Inn is a favorite spot of mine. I was delighted to book it for my wedding ceremony and reception, which I wanted to be intimate, simple, and elegant, with great food and wine. The Tabard was a perfect fit. For a small wedding (we had 60 people), it can't be beat. It has a wonderfully classy and warm feel to it. Because the event rooms are already well decorated, this helped us to save money and avoid elaborate decorations (although we did have a wonderful florist). The Tabard has a beautiful courtyard, and several lovely event rooms upstairs. The Tabard does everything well, and their staff is impeccable. Their event coordinator, Erin, is very meticulous, and she did a truly amazing job in helping us to plan the wedding and to ensure that every detail was perfect on our wedding day. The Tabard has great food. They are also known for their excellent wine list. Huw Griffiths, the pastry chef at Tabard Inn, is a genius! He made the most delicious chocolate t... Read more

  • We had our rehearsal dinner in rooms 24 and 26 of the Tabard Inn. Working with Erin Claxton and her assistant was quite easy and both were very responsive to questions I had nearing the date of our dinner. The waitstaff was polite, attentive and professional. My only slight issue was that I had to ask them to bring out the appetizers we'd ordered because we only had a 45 minute cocktail 'hour' and they still hadn't brought them with about 15 minutes to seating down for dinner. My husband and I do love it there and I'm pleased we were able to have the rehearsal there. It is a beautiful space and I would highly recommend it to anyone for a dinner like ours (about 30 people).

  • After searching the entire DC area, we discovered the Tabard Inn which was the perfect place for a rehearsal dinner. The room had so much personality and character. There are two fireplaces to light in the winter and there is a piano for which you can bring in a player (they can recommend pianists). They are extremely flexible with the set-up of the room, you can bring in round/square tables and/or have sofas and other seating options. We had an open bar and heavy hors d'oeuvres that were passed and placed. The food was great. My in-laws managed the menu, so I can't speak to cost or flexibility with the menu, though they did repeatedly tell me how helpful and knowledgeable Erin was.

  • An amazing place for a small wedding (60 or fewer people) ! The food was amazing and Erin the Specials Events director was wonderful- quick to help and take the burden off of the bride. The outdoor patio is a lovely place for an outdoor ceremony. It is used for the restaurant so there is a limited window in which you can use it for one hour ( 3-4 or 4-5 I beleive) It was very easy one stop shopping for a big part of the wedding ( food, cake, linens, placecards) so there were not as many separate vendors to deal with. The place has a unique and whimsical charm to it so besides flowers on the tables, no other decorations had to be done to it. The receptions rooms had the pianos in there already which it made it easy for our jazz pianist to play. Since it is also a boutique hotel we had a lovely room for our wedding night. All in all, it turned out much better than we could have dreamed of!
