  • We only used one room for our reception and it is a beautiful space. Not too many decorations needed. They let us set the room up early (we were lucky there wasn't another event in the morning or else we wouldn't have been able to do this) at no extra cost. Everything day-of went very smoothly. The only thing I would caution is renting rooms for your guests. If you are going to do this, and you should for the price, do it early and confirm confirm confirm. They didn't do a great job of keeping track of our reservations which wasn't great but we did wait til the last minute to confirm. Regardless, it was a lovely experience, the food was great and everyone was so nice! Makes for a great spot to return to for future romantic occasions :)

  • I can't say enough about the Tabard Inn. Judy and Elena and their team made our wedding the most special event in our lives. The food was incredible, and I give the service and venue a 5 star from start to finish if you're looking for an intimate wedding. My guests are still raving. I'll also be a regular at the Tabard restaurant for sure. Love the ambience. Our cake designer Dalo was also remarkable. He's a recommendation from Judy. We love the Tabard Inn! Thanks, The Johnsons

  • The Tabard Inn was an elegant spot for our rehearsal dinner. Amazing food, great ambiance, and a private room. Couldn’t have asked for more.

  • We had our wedding rehearsal dinner for about 30 people in the beautiful Green Room at the Tabard Inn. We wanted an intimate, reasonably priced, and classic DC restaurant for our dinner, and The Tabard Inn was the perfect choice. From the beginning, the whole staff, including Mariana, Elena, and Judy, were great to work with. They were responsive to all of our questions, and did a great job organizing everything. For the actual dinner, the restaurant put up welcome signs for our guests, had name cards with entree selections, and printed custom menus. The Green Room is a great space with an area for drinks and passed h’orderves before dinner and then a larger room with space for several round tables. Plus there's a private bathroom, which is really nice for guests. The service was also great and they had everything set-up early, and kindly served some of our guests that arrived earlier than we had planned. The room and service were great, but the food was the real star. We deci... Read more

  • I'm normally not one to write reviews but was so impressed by my recent experience at the Tabard Inn that I want to help get the word out. We held a small wedding reception for approximately 50 guests. We had a pretty even mix of out-of-town guests and DC locals and they ALL raved about the space, food, and service. The venue has a charm that unmatched and it makes for a very authentic DC wedding experience. The event staff, Elena and Judy, were so accomidating - even when we had the inevitable last-minute changes to our food counts and schedule. They even modified the menu to accomidate a special request. This has to be one of DC's best-kept secrets and a total bargain.

  • The Tabard Inn was a wonderful place to have a wedding. Judy and Elena who are the event coordinators made the day run smoothly and responded promptly to all my emails leading up to the day of the wedding. The food and ambience was perfect. Many of my guests commented on how much they loved the food and the decor in the rooms. This is a perfect place for an intimate wedding with close friends and family!

  • From the start to the end, Tabard Inn staff were always welcoming, polite, helpful, and flexible around our schedules. The best part was getting to try a select few of the hors d'oeuvres and some entrees off of the menus (we were trying to narrow down food choices for our guests). The chef was generous in serving us full-sized portions of the entrees that we had pre-selected for test-tasting. Instead of having a cake, we requested a donut tower from Tabard Inn, which immediately turned into a favorite among our guests (some even took the remaining donuts for the road). In the days leading up to the wedding, the Tabard Inn Special Event coordinators met with one of our vendors, Geoffrey from "Instant Photo Box", to review the logistics for our wedding day. Tabard Inn will reserve the space for you if you choose to host your rehearsal dinner there. While we did not have our rehearsal dinner at Tabard Inn, we were lucky that there was an opening in the schedule of events on the day b... Read more

  • My daughter's bridal shower was at Tabard Inn on June 6th 2015. It was absolutely wonderful! Judy did an incredible job organizing every single detail. She responded to all my calls and emails. I live in Houston and my daughter's shower was in DC, so I was a little apprehensive. However, the event was flawless, the servers very polite, the room cozy and the food delicious! I would highly recommend the Tabard Inn for any event.

  • The Tabard Inn is a special place. I love that it is full of antiques and quirky art but nothing is too precious. The staff was wonderful, they went above and beyond for us, were very flexible, and the food was delicious. The bakery chef did an amazing job on our cake -- everyone was taking pictures of it, and it was yummy too.

  • Wonderful experience planning my wedding with the events staff at Tabard Inn. I had several dietary restrictions that the special events staff coordinated with the chef, including gluten free and vegan meal options. I found the staff to be responsive and the venue was perfect the day of my wedding. The staff followed through with the details exactly as I wanted them, and I was told by friends who assisted in day-of coordination and Judy was wonderful to work with. My guests loved the venue and complimented the food and service.

  • I just got married a few days ago at the Tabard Inn. The wedding turned out as beautifully and as perfectly as I could have possibly hoped. The Tabard Inn was a gorgeous venue and went very well with our flowers. The Tabard Inn Special Events staff is very professional. I really enjoyed working with Judy, the venue manager. She was immensely helpful in my planning and was very responsive to my frantic questions during the last few weeks of the engagement. The staff set up the venue exactly to my liking. The food was excellent and the open bar was a huge hit. All the guests raved about how great the food and drinks were and how beautiful the rooms looked. I highly recommend this venue because it provides everything that you need - food, bar, tables, parking package, setup staff, service staff, stereo, etc. Trust me, it makes a huge difference.

  • Overall, I get why this venue is cheaper than other DC venues – they lack the professionalism, organization, and overall customer service you get from other places, and I really question their payment and bar practices. With that said, by having my event here, I maintained a great budget for a DC based event, and my guests really enjoyed the food and their hotel rooms. I think this venue is a good option if you are prepared to do most of the coordination yourself, you don’t mind constantly following up with them, and you ensure that you have specifics on the bar and payment expectations before you sign on the dotted line. I guess when you are paying less, you have to do more. Our renewal was abosultely beautiful in the end, and the intent of the day, recommitting after 10 years, means more than any little detail.

  • My partner and I had a cocktail reception as a Bon Voyage party (there's no option for that in the "Event Types" above - so I chose wedding). Things were a bit shakey initially because the representative at the Tabard Inn we were working with left and it appeared a lot of the verbal agreements/arrangements made did not make it into files or was not shared with colleagues who took over. But Judy saved the day! She dealt with my frustration gracefully and gave me the sense of confidence I needed to know that things were going to get done well and in the way I wanted. We had to make last minute changes in the order due to late RSVPs, and Judy rolled with the punches. The service staff at the event was exceptional. Super friendly and attentive to our family members in attendance. We had a jazz band who used the Tabard's piano and that went well. Our only hiccup was coats went missing at the end of the night.
