Chris Blue and the rest of the Sun Mountain team were fantastic throughout the planning process and when a surprise winter storm in September threw us a curveball on the day of our wedding. They really went all out. The venue (and view) speaks for itself and the Sun Mountain Lodge catering was amazing. Chris, the Lodge's event planner, is a pro. She is calming and easy to work with, has ongoing relationships with other vendors in town, has fantastic ideas, and is enjoyable to work with.

Chris is a very personable and reliable planner. Communication was seamless and she really took time to understand our wedding vision - both bride and groom. With her guidance and help our day came together beautifully! All staff along the way was helpful, friendly and accommodating.

We knew we wanted to get married at Sun Mountain lodge from the first time we visited. The staff are absolutely incredible and the views, activities and amenities can’t be beat. Everyone who works there is so kind and generous. Chris, our wedding coordinator, was there for anything and everything we needed. There were so many small and thoughtful details that Chris and her staff were attentive to during the day. They were there to help at a moments notice, give advice, or just say hi. The cabins were perfect for our guests who wanted to be by the lake, and the lodge and the grounds were great for our wedding and reception. It was an absolute dream, and we couldn’t have asked for a better location or team. Even when it got colder than expected, the staff at SML jumped into action to make sure our guests were comfortable. So many of our guests took advantage of the guided nature walks, mountain biking, hiking, tennis, canoeing, and horseback riding offered by the activities shop. Many others just enjoyed going downtown, or off into the Cascades for some adventuring. The food was fantastic. Having been originally from the East Coast, our wedding was the first time to Washington and the Pacific Northwest for many of our guests. From the hors d’oeuvres to the local pork to the sockeye to the late night Okanogan Trail Mix, our guests got a true taste of the amazing food Washington and the Methow Valley have to offer. Chef Tyler and his team did an amazing job of making sure we were eating great food all weekend long. Many of our guests have told us that they plan to come back to Sun Mountain Lodge and we can’t wait to go back too!

Chris Blue and everyone at Sun Mountain Lodge are just the best. Our wedding was seamless, beautiful, and perfect thanks to all of their help, an absolutely stunning location, and delicious food. It was a bit more expensive than we anticipated, but we did not scrimp on anything. Great value and well worth it.

Booking Sun Mountain Lodge was the greatest decision we made in our wedding planning process! Every change was handled professionally. I felt that as a bride I got a great deal, our wedding ended up under budget. Loved everything and everyone at the venue. Mary and her team did everything we thought of to make our entire wedding weekend amazing! We did the Cowboy Rehearsal Dinner and everyone loved it. We had a smaller wedding so we ended with up with about half the wedding coming to the rehearsal. We also did a morning after brunch. With no direction from us at all, the SML staff set-up a lot of the flowers from the Reception at the brunch. It was such a beautiful morning! Hilary is gosh darn WIZARD with bridal hair! She went so above and beyond what I expected for my hair. Everyone was amazed by it (rightly so!) and I wish I could have taken her home with me.

We were so happy with EVERYTHING at Sun Mountain Lodge. The staff was amazing, taking care of any questions, needs, or issues that came up - including towing a car up to the lodge to ensure our friends made it to the ceremony! Mary was the best coordinator we could have asked for. Our photographer said we would never find someone as good as she was. We expected to have to ask our friends to do little things like move flowers from the ceremony to the reception, but the staff took care of it all! They set everything up perfectly too, it was absolutely gorgeous. We also had our Rehearsal Dinner at the Old Homestead, which was a ton of fun. Finally, we had a Seahawks brunch the next morning, and the staff had turned the room over so quickly and beautifully...we were in awe! Our entire event was gluten free due to Celiac disease. Read morerunch was also GF, with amazing food and drinks. We used the Spa for hair and makeup. Hillary was amazing. She listened to what each person wanted, and made it happen. When my mother-in-law's hair started to fall down, Hillary fixed it really fast and it held the rest of the day/night. Hillary also made sure that my makeup was natural and I felt totally comfortable as a more-gorgeous version of myself. That is a feat for someone who never wears makeup! Our guests raved about the venue, food, accommodating staff, and activities such as mountain biking, horseback riding, and spa. Our goal was to ensure everyone had a fantastic time and the Lodge made sure that happened! Finally, after everyone else left we stayed an extra night for a mini-honeymoon. My husband arranged for dinner in the Wine Cellar for the two of us and it was STUNNING. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious, and the staff had brought some of our wedding flowers in for decoration. It was gorgeous!

Sun Mountain by far was the most exceptional wedding venue that we could have picked. We had a winter wedding in the snow, everyone was so accommodating and helpful. We had a few hiccups with the event coordinator concerning catering, but it all came together in the end. Be sure to get a close estimate as at the end of our stay there were lots of extra charges. The salon did bridal and bridal party hair, they were very quick and did a fabulous job, highly recommend, We definitely would have our wedding here again, it was absolutely amazing.
