  • ***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED*** Thank you DJ Toshi for being an awesome DJ at our wedding! You are so talented and easy to work with. First, Alex and I are thrilled to be your very first gay-wedding. We were looking for someone cool and comfortable performing at our wedding, and you were delightful and thoughtful to work with. Also, major credits to you for having fun hosting and emceeing with our famous hostest-with-the-mostest drag queen performer Estee Longah. Second, you beat-matched 2 very different songs (the Navy anthem vs. a Jess Glynne dance song) into a seamless transition from our entrance into our first-dance. That was awesome. The best part, you capped off the evening with that same Jess Glynne song as the last-dance. You used our theme song and made it memorable. Third, you were able to accommodate all those requests from our friends and guests, hula dancers, and Estee Longah. You had prepared an awesome playlist based on our song preferences, yet you still played all... Read more

  • THE TOTAL PACKAGE!!! We hired Toshi for our wedding and he by far exceeded all of our expectations! Everything he provided was top quality. The DJing, audio/visual, and beautiful UP LIGHTING was perfect! From the pre-planning to the wedding day, Toshi was very easy to work with. Very professional, punctual, friendly, and very reasonably priced (worked well within our budget). He went through our wedding program perfectly and knew how to interact with the crowd like a pro. We would highly recommend Toshi for any type of event!! Mahalo Toshi!!

  • I need to thank Spectrum and Toshi for their role in my wedding. Toshi was a savior. My wedding was outdoors, which caused several last minute challenges- Due to strong winds and rain we rescheduled the date of the ceremony two days before the wedding, then we had to squish the reception, including DJ equipment, into a small tent. My mind was so distracted that I delayed sending Toshi our final song choices until the night before the wedding. But Toshi never seemed fazed. Every time I saw him, he had an positive, friendly, reassuring smile. I never had to worry about the music or sound because Toshi knew what he was doing and made it work. All the equipment that Spectrum provided was in great condition, provided great quality sound, and was setup without a hitch. The music Toshi assembled was exactly the feel we'd wanted, and between toasts and activities he knew how to control the timing and transitions, even with all our last minute changes. He is professional, adaptable, and positi... Read more

  • Spectrum was amazing! My husband and I had a night to remember because of them. Toshi was very quick to respond to my emails and obnoxious calls. He was also very approachable and very friendly. Toshi knows the latest music, the latest trends in weddings, and knows what would sound good for a particular audience. He also gave us wonderful advice on what would look good, what would look bad, and what could go wrong. The only hiccup I can think of was when there was some sound problems during the beginning part of our powerpoint. There was no one to blame. I guess sometimes when you have different equipment from different vendors and you try to make them all work together, things may not be compatible.  Nevertheless, we had a night to remember. Our guests loved the ambiance of the reception, and all the credit goes to Spectrum for our lighting! They provided extra lighting for us which made the whole room looked ethereal. Seriously, I could not have a more magical night. I highly rec... Read more

  • I found Toshi through a friend's recommendation...and I'm SO glad I decided to use his services in August 2014 for my wedding. Unlike many other vendors in the Honolulu wedding scene, Toshi was on point with communication - he was available by email, text, phone. He was professional, had a formal contract, and was readily available to discuss things. What a relief to have someone dependable for our big day! I really hadn't put a lot of thought into our music and program until the last minute, but Toshi totally helped me figure it all out. He was so accommodating and took the time to meet right before the wedding to go over the music selection and program. He also came super early to set up and make sure everything was perfect. Not only is he a great DJ, but he's an AWESOME emcee (skills which I personally think he should advertise more!) Our reception flowed nicekly thanks to him -- he was perfect at announcing everything in our program (toasts, dancing, cake cutting, hula, ... Read more

  • When we were planning our wedding the most important part was staying within the confines of our very modest budget like responsible adults living a debt-free life. Isn't that the modern version of a fairy-tale wedding? Our whole plan was food, drink, and dancing. We were pretty casual about the planning, which meant that 3 weeks before the wedding we realized if we wanted people to dance, we should probably get a DJ instead of pawning an ipod off on one of our guests. Thankfully we found Spectrum DJs! Our caterer had worked with Toshi in the past and recommended him as someone competent and reliable. Toshi and Chris met with us right away, went over our timeline, and were ready for anything from the very start. When I emailed them a few days before the wedding to say I had changed my mind about the dinner music, that was fine too. They strongly endorsed up lighting, and I'm glad we listened to them. The up lighting made our simple decorations seem much more elegant. When my ... Read more
