  • What can I say about the Shereton team that I haven’t already yelled at them about? MANY things went wrong, they caused me all sorts of stress, and the list of items where they messed up, broke the contract, didn’t deliver what I paid for, or acted unprofessionally, is so long I don’t have the energy to write it all out again. The recent change in management at the Shereton Tyson’s left their team in disarray and is showed the day of my event. Until they can pull it together, I recommend you stay away from this place. The bottom line is, I hold the Shereton Tyson’s team responsible for ruining my wedding day.

  • The Sheraton Tysons (formerly Sheraton Premiere) is a good hotel that can work very well for wedding receptions. Note that the hotel is older, so you will have to spend money on covering up the building's blemishes. Still, once all is said and done, our reception looked spectacular and the hotel accommodated us very, very well. All in all, a good value for the money.

  • Honestly, the only reason to book this venue is because of the location and the ballrooms. We really loved the Tyson's Ballroom because of its unique skylight and light fixture. The location was perfect for our out of town guests since the metro was nearby. My warning is that the coordinator is hard to get a hold of, she usually takes a few days to get back to you. She was there on the wedding day which was great but I'm not sure if that is worth all the frustration during the wedding planning. Be careful of the contract because they will verbally promise you certain things but then not place it in the contract or take back what they had promised. Also I found out after the wedding that they did not provide cider for my guests that did not drink alcohol and pastries were not provided at the tables. I emailed the hotel about this but never heard back (probably because I had finished my full payment before hearing about these things). Its a good location and the ballroom is nice bu... Read more

  • We certainly enjoyed working with Lucy on our daughter's wedding at the Sheraton in June 2018. Her calm, professional demeanor provided reassurance and comfort to the bride to be throughout the 16-month planning process. The 3 rating assigned for Quality of Service does not apply to Lucy but rather the hotel's front desk personnel who forgot to provide the welcome bags to the overnight guests and the limited parking available for the wedding guests. There were virtually no parking attendants to help the guests find parking nor was there valet service provided to those older guests, in particular, who were in unfamiliar with the Tysons area and didn't know where to go. The post-wedding brunch on Sunday, June 17th, was top notch (all aspects were very well organized) and the servers were most helpful and accommodating.

  • The upstairs room is beautiful for those looking to have a lot of light without having to worry about weather for their ceremony. I found the service to be pretty hit or miss in a lot of ways. The rooming was a disaster for the suite booking and for some of the guests. There wasn't great time given to our decorator to properly prepare for the events and this was not communicated in the best way. I also made it really clear that we wanted to have the bar open past 11pm after the reception was over, which we were told would be the case. It wasn't. I was given no advance warning for this, and had I known, I could have prepared for an immediate after party. In general, it all went off fine, but I found that Lucy was a bit blase throughout the process and seem to take it for granted that all Indian weddings are the same and she did the minimum needed to get it all done.

  • Rooms were filthy. There were old leaking refrigerators left in the rooms that smelled, sheets had not been changed, no housekeeping unless requested.. they also lost a lot of my wedding stuff such as my personalized cake cutter and forks, my bride robe that was accidentally left in our suite and a large heavy box of decorations. After originally telling me they didn't have it, they somehow "found" the robe after receiving 3 different emails from me. I have yet to hear back about the other two items regardless of my emails and regardless of the event coordinator telling me they have it in storage somewhere.

  • Everything went well. Guests enjoyed the event. The only special arrangement required was an extra partition between men and women and that was arranged satisfactorily. Our requirements were very straightforward (a dinner with outside caterers) and they were handled professionally. Obviously, there is always room for improvement. For example, Sheraton can offer multiple table setting choices within the same price range. Or for a modest increase the plates and silverware can be of higher quality. Basically some more options. Maybe the interior light can be a few lumens higher since the walls / interior is of dark color. It can always help if there is one or two full length mirrors inside the hall or mingle area. We are happy. Lucy did a great job

  • I was lucky enough to work with Whitney Vaillancourt at the Sheraton Premiere of Tysons. From the first initial view of the rooms to the night of the wedding, she was in constant contact making sure we had everything we needed. She not only helped to reserve the location when we were still in the process of deciding a reception location, but she also worked with us to ensure all of our guests were pleased with their rooms at the Sheraton. My husband and I instantly fell in love with her outgoing personality and we truly couldn't imagine having a better person to help make our day so special. I would highly recommend her and the Sheraton for all of their help throughout the process of planning my wedding.

  • Lucy was great to work with! The chef we worked with as well was great. Although the night of my wedding when the food came out, it was not even close to what I had asked for. Only aspect of negativity. They did make it right after the wedding.

  • We used the main (Fairfax) ballroom at Sheraton and ended up having around 330 guests. The manager, Amissi, was easy to work with but was a little slow with returning emails at first (until the wedding planner started contacting him). The hotel staff was also difficult to work with - the folks in the hotel reservations department and financial department were the worst. We had a heck of a time trying to submit our rooming lists for each room; when we asked to speak with someone else in the department, we were directed to the person who we had been struggling with for a week. Her manager didn't seem to care that she was not doing a good job of organizing our guests into their appropriate rooms, even after we had submitted the rooming lists to her. We used their room rate for about 25 rooms and it was very reasonable for the area, but beware there is no shuttle service from any nearby airports. Our guests were happy with the rooms, which were updated and modern looking. We also booked a ... Read more

  • The photos posted here are outdated. The hotel was renovated a couple of years ago. We had our wedding in the ballroom on the 2nd floor. I loved the high ceiling and chandelier. We had 275 guests and the octagon-shaped ballroom allowed tables to be arranged "together" without tables in the corner. The cocktail hour area was a little tight but it wasn't a problem. Logistics were easy (parking garage, discounted hotel rooms, convenient location close to the highway). My only issue with Sheraton was working with the Banquet Department. It took 3-4 months from when I first contacted Sheraton to when I actually signed papers. I was the one who continuously contacted them, requested to meet, requested papers, etc. From what I understand, they had an unexpected staff turnover but it was still unacceptable. It was not until I was so frustrated and decided to go with another venue did they finally return my calls/emails. I will say that the best thing about Sheraton (aside from ... Read more
