  • We hired Serenata Strings for our wedding ceremony and it was one of my favorite parts of the wedding. We had an acoustic guitar and violin playing as people were getting seated as well and post-ceremony as people were leaving. They had such a lovely sound and the process of hiring them was a breeze! *Photo Credit: @Wilderlove

  • Serenata Strings created the most beautiful ambiance for our wedding. We booked the violin + guitar ensemble and Karen was so easy to work with when we had some special requests / back and forth on what songs we wanted to hear.  They are truly incredible artists and did a great job with the very wide range of requests we threw at them. We had classical music, Bruno Mars, Journey, even some Disney songs, and they played them all perfectly. I felt like they really wanted to make our night special and they put in the effort to show it!

  • My husband and I were married on 11/17/19 in an outdoor country wedding ceremony. Serenata Strings provided a string quartet for our outdoor ceremony and the cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony and they were absolutely amazing. They all arrived well before the first guest and stayed through the end of our cocktail hour as planned. My husband is a musician and we had a ton of musicians at our wedding and we heard so many comments on how beautiful the music was. Our wedding day was this gorgeous, clear blue Texas sky day, way out in the country and we were surrounded only by the quiet, peaceful sounds of nature and the music from that beautiful string quartet. The beautiful sounds produced by Karen and her fellow musicians made our wedding ceremony so very special. Karen is not only a very talented musician, but she is an amazing person. In January, when we started this journey of planning our November wedding we were turned away on our first weekend of touring venues becaus... Read more

  • Serenata Strings were easy to work with and very professional. They played beautifully during the ceremony and cocktail hour. We couldn't have been happier with the music. Karen also sent a personal thank you note and music which was an extra added touch that I loved.

  • I knew from the reviews that the music performed by Serenata Strings at my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding ceremony would be lovely. It was not only lovely, it was tremendously moving and timed perfectly. Their amazing string duet was performed by Karen (violinist) and Jenna (cellist). I am still getting calls about how beautiful the ceremony music was. Our contact was Karen, who was always so sweet, polite and professional. SS are very popular/busy, but Karen was always kind and never made me feel rushed. She made everything go smoothly from the hymn choice planning to the order performed. They are prompt, affordable, professional, and extremely talented. THANK YOU for making their wedding ceremony even more beautiful!!!

  • We would highly recommend Serenata Strings! We had their string quartet play at our wedding ceremony at the Adolphus. They did a fantastic job, beautiful music. Leading up to the event, it was easy to correspond with Karen regarding the contract and deciding on music selections. A memorable and elegant part of the wedding ceremony!

  • They were very accommodating and helpful. We had a little problem at the ceremony and they had continued playing until everything was resolved. The ceremony might have lasted longer than the agreed time and they were still there. We were very grateful.

  • Karen is hard to communicate with because all emails are answered with a form letter that explains how busy they are. When it come down to it the musicians arrived on time, were dressed professionally and played well! I had contracted for string trio of violin, viola and cello but the strings that were sent were 2 violins and cello. Was kind of disappointed in that because I believe a viola would have added some depth to the ensemble. Over all the strings were adequate and added to the mood. Played for 1 1/2 hrs.

  • We had a string quartet perform at our ceremony. It was a beautiful addition to our special day. The only issue we had was very slow response times from them. We understand everyone is busy but I had to resend emails multiple times to get a response sometimes. When it came down to it they were prompt, and the music was beautiful.

  • I have been in communication with Karen Lim-Smith with Serenata Strings by phone and by e-mail since the first of June. She contracted with me to have a violinist perform the ceremony music for my July 4th wedding for $225.00 After signing the contract that was sent to us and sending in the credit card information for payment, they responded with a "new contract price" of $300.00 because July 4th is a holiday. July 4th was the date communicated to her on every e-mail. I'm including screenshots to show that the subject line always read "JULY 4!" Knowing that I could not possibly find someone else to perform with only TWO WEEKS before my wedding, she pulled this price switch and refused to adhere to our original agreement. Today (June 20) was the first time the possibility of a new price was even mentioned! Do NOT use this vendor and risk the "bait and switch" that she pulled on me at the last minute! So frustrating!

    responded with the following comments.

We apologize to the bride for any inconvenience caused. The bride first contacted us on June 1, 2018 for her wedding on July 4, 2018 in Weatherford. Being a month away from her wedding, we scrambled to look for a violinist. We had sent a contract for the bride’s perusal for the price of $225. For two weeks, we could not find anyone to agree to perform at 6 p.m. on July 4. On June 18, a violinist responded. Because it was two weeks away from the bride’s wedding on July 4, 2018, it was only fair on the part of the violinist to ask for a higher rate on a special holiday. Thus, when the bride sent in her contract on June 19 stating the $225 price, we responded back the same day by asking her if she would agree to the violinist’s new asking price on a special holiday. We understand we now have to create new prices for our clients on special holidays such as July 4, Christmas Eve as well as New Year’s Eve in order to avoid this miscommunication for it is our musicians’ right to ask for an increase in pay on special holidays. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience caused.
