We would never change our decision to have our reception at Riverdale Manor. It was like a breath of fresh air - almost like we never had to worry about anything and that it was always taken care of. Our calls/emails were always returned quickly, and information we needed was gotten to us very promptly. We never felt rushed and always felt like we had great people helping us with our decisions. The food and services on our wedding day we exceptional, including the staff. Everything was in place and how we wanted it. We were just able to relax and have a great time with all of our guests.

I loved Riverdale from the moment I looked at their web site. The location is beautiful, the staff is amazing and the food is excellent. That's not to mention the fact that the cost is very reasonable and the team on-staff things of everything. They didn't ask me one thing on my wedding day and everything was handled. Even though we had bad weather, they took care of everything to the tiniest detail. I would recommend them again and again.

We had an amazing wedding at the Riverdale. Not only is the location gorgeous, but the staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Maureen was our planner and took care of us from the moment we looked at the venue, with booking them and with all the planning through the wedding day. She was so helpful every step of the way. On the actual day, the entire staff went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. The food is also fabulous and we highly recommend it.

At Riverdale I worked with Monica as my planner. The site was beautiful and they were very willing to work with my schedule. I planned this wedding from out of town and they were very open to planning my meetings whenever I could fly in. She was also very welcoming when I would call and ask if I could stop by and show off the place to my parents. The day of they set everything up for us we didn't have to worry about anything but getting ourselves ready. I would recommend Riverdale Manor .

I was delighted with my experience with Riverdale Manor. I planned my wedding from California, so I didn't deal with them all that much, but whenever I had questions for my coordinator, Monica, she was responsive and helpful. The day-of service was wonderful! Thanks to Monica, I felt like I didn't have to worry about anything, and that was a huge relief. I didn't feel the need to check on everything to make sure it was being done, because I knew it would be. My mom and I provided the little details, the staff at Riverdale put it all together for us, and the wedding was beautiful. Plus, Riverdale's site is gorgeous. We got so many compliments on the location, and our guests had full run of the terrace, the grounds, and the reception hall. We lucked out with beautiful weather, so our guests spent a lot of time outside, which was a lovely benefit. Riverdale is great, especially if you are looking for a one stop shop but not a cookie cutter wedding, and want control of the costs. We did not want to have a hotel wedding but liked the convenience and cost savings of having one vendor for the venue and the caterer; Riverdale fit the bill. When you contract with Riverdale, you are going to be the only event at Riverdale that day. They allow you to use the farmhouse to get ready there, to have a five hour event (rather than the standard 4 hours), and to have your ceremony there for a nominal cost. The rental of the site also includes tables and chairs for the reception. Things they do not include are tablecloths (which they will rent on your behalf--one less vendor for you to have to deal with), cake plates and champagne glasses. The quality of the food was excellent. We offered the beef medallion or the portobello mushroom. Guests liked both. The appetizers were also very good. We do wish they did a better job of serving those to the guests; the people near the kitchen were bombarded with passed trays and other guests never saw them. This was partially due to the fact that our guests were primarily in the farmhouse and not on the patio, since it was a bit chilly outside. We also liked that Riverdale had a place for both us to get ready onsite (most do not have a place for the groom), and basically provides a coordinator for the wedding. We worked with Dayna. We dropped off all the alcohol, escort cards, picture frames, votives, etc. the day before and Dayna took care of getting everything set up, just the way we had planned. Dayna took care of all the set up for the ceremony as well. She also made sure everything was packed up and ready to go after the wedding. We did not hire an outside coordinator and having Dayna available before and the day of the wedding was fantastic. Whenever we had a question that Dayna did not know the answer to, she was quick to tell us she would find out. Riverdale also has an excellent vendor referral list. The only area we wish they had provided more guidance in was in the quantiity of alcoholic beverages to purchase. We ended up using the recommendations of a friend's caterer since Riverdale did not provide us with this information. (we'd be happy to share our experience in this area if you need the information--we had WAY TOO MUCH!) As other reviewers noted, the one downside of Riverdale is they are a bit set in there ways. You could say they know what works and want to run a smooth event, which is why they heavily push to do things a certain way. Or, you could say they can be a bit inflexible at times. For example, they insist that we write our guests' entree selection on the escort cards, rather than indicating what a person had ordered through a colored ribbon or some other symbol. They were very inflexible about this. We wrote the entree choices on the inside of the cards, and one of our guests reported that when dinner was served they were told to turn their cards inside out. Seemed a bit of an overkill to me. But it was nice to be offer a split entree without a surcharge. They also were not thrilled that we wanted to have our meal served with intervals of dancing between courses; we were upfront about this before we signed the contract and were told that was fine. At our final planning meeting, we were told that we may have to pay for additional hours of service if we did this. They backed down, but the night of the wedding, they DID NOT follow our schedule. They served the dinner a half hour early and the cake immediately following. (they said people weren't dancing--they were.) Our guests did not know the difference, but we did. We were very explicit about what we wanted, and we are pretty sure that the owner of the company never had any intention of serving the meal on our schedule. On the whole we were thrilled with Riverdale. We wanted a farmhouse setting, but also saw the benefit of having modern amenities, like climate control. We were able to hold our ceremony in the pavilion, which we did not know was going to be an option when we contracted with Riverdale. It is a wonderful addition to the place and we were so glad to have been able to use it, especially since using the patio would not have worked well in late March. We considered venues all over the Mid-Atlantic and looked at venues in Baltimore, York, Annapolis and Lancaster. We considred many different places, Riverdale was able to give us everything we wanted at a price we could afford. If we were to do it all over again, we would definitely pick Riverdale Manor and gladly work with Dayna.

Riverdale Manor is a beautiful place for photos, a well-kept property. As far as dealing w/ the staff they are very rigid & unprofessional. Dayna had our daughter the bride crying on the night of the rehearsal dinner because they tried to change an already agreed on seating plan. The food was not comparable to the tasting, not as spiced & cold & we were the second table served. Our wedd. cake was moved & they had strict orders not to move it & they knew that, in which case we had to take apart the cake so it wouldn't fall. Some of our guests & wedd. coordinator were treated rude on rehearsal night as well, Dayna was so rude infact they laughed because they thought she was kidding. Needless to say we will not be going back when our younger daughter gets married.

When I first saw photos of Riverdal Manor, I knew I was going to get married there! It is so beautiful and was the perfect setting for the type of wedding we wanted. We worked closely with Dayna, one of their coordinators. She was FANTASTIC!!! She always worked hard at getting us information or items we requested! We shared a lot of laughs and made me and my family feel so comfortable during an emotional time! She handled my MIL's surprise drop in one day with more grace than I ever could! :) The rehearsal went so smoothly, even though my inlaws were 20 minutes late, she made it all happen!! That day everyone was so professional, Maureen, the owner, even carried my dress upstairs to the bridal suit! We were supposed to get married outside, and minutes before the ceremony a huge storm moved in. We couldn't even get married under the side porch it was raining sooo hard! I was soo upset my dream wedding had been ruined by the storm, but when I saw what they did with the ballroom, I was speechless! The sun came out during our ceremony so we were able to go outside to take pictures. Dayna came down to the bridal party with hors?dorderves, which was so great, since we hadn't eaten in a few hours! The Riverdale Team converted the ballroom back to the reception set up in less than an hour! It looked amazing! I had lots of little personal touches that Dayna made sure got out! My husband still raves about his pepercorn congac steak, that it's the best he's ever had! Dayna took care of boxing up all of our decor so we didn't have to! She truly made our wedding a wonderful affair, that our family and friends say is the best wedding they have ever been to! We were recently back at Riverdale Manor for a friend's wedding, and we were greeted right away by the owner, who said it was so nice to have us back, and Dayna, who warmly greeted my family and I with smiles and hugs! It was so nice to be remembered after almost a year! I highly recommend Riverdale and working with Dayna! We joke that we'll renew our vows for our 10 year anniversary there, and after being welcomed back so warmly, I think it will absolutely happen!
