The intent of this review is to provide a detailed and constructive account of our experience having our wedding at the Chart House Redondo Beach. This would have been a 1 Star review for various reasons but several heroes came to the rescue – all of which is outlined below. To start from the beginning, we were very pleased with booking the Chart House for our wedding. We were going for a community-centric venue that provided a straightforward wedding package at a reasonable price vs. having to outsource to a bunch of separate, expensive vendors that required a lot of coordination. In addition, the Chart House is right next to a private beach (owned and operated by Crystal Cove), which served as our ceremony venue – highly recommend them! The initial conversations in booking the Chart House with their events/banquet coordinator went smoothly and knowing they used their normal work staff to execute events gave us peace of mind. Read moreA ONE STAR RATING – throughout one year from booking the venue to our event day, we were hit with massive turnover as SIX different event/banquet coordinators served as our points of contact – all of which had various levels of responsiveness, professionalism and ability in fulfilling the basic needs of an event. We were fully committed to make the Chart House work for our wedding (especially since we were under contract) and roll with the punches but we lost a great deal of trust throughout and frankly, were very scared for our wedding. As a result, we experienced about 10 months of issues – one of which was lack of responsiveness. We would sometimes go full months without receiving a response to basic questions, receiving incorrect information when we actually did get a response and unprofessional attitude when we took the initiative to follow up via phone. Getting them to just admit that our point of contact was let go or quit was like pulling teeth and most details associated with our event that were worked out with previous coordinators were not kept on record so we had to start from scratch on three different occasions. WHY THIS TURNED INTO A FOUR STAR RATING: One month prior to our wedding date, we received word another event coordinator had left the company and another would be brought in. Thank goodness this happened as Michael saved the day! He came in and provided the professional customer service Chart House Redondo Beach was originally known for – responded within a realistic timeframe, provided accurate information and thoughtful recommendations that would serve our guests best, and problem solved when road blocks came up. During the event, Michael took the initiative needed to get the job done and was at the event to make sure everything went smoothly – lifesaver! ONE STAR FOR MICHAEL! Also, the wait staff at the Chart House is second to none! We heard from the beginning of our journey that many of the employees had been working there for years (even decades) and it clearly showed. They executed the dinning room setup, meal service, and overall timeline to perfection all with top notch customer service and professionalism. We can’t thank Michael and the Chart House staff enough – they really made our event that much more special – ANOTHER STAR FOR THE CHART HOUSE STAFF! For anyone interested in moving forward with the Chart House Redondo Beach as an event space, please know you will be in good hands with the current wait staff and Michael - they kept the sinking ship afloat! On the other hand, have a healthy level of skepticism and if things feel off…RUN! We understand that turnover happens but based on our experience, Chart House corporate’s hiring practices and quality control standards needs A LOT of work. Potential clients and the friendly staff deserve much better!

The Chart House at Redondo Beach is a great venue and proved perfect for our beach wedding reception which was held in the function room that overlooks the beach from nearly all angles! The room was set up gorgeously and looked very romantic!

This was a wonderful location for my ceremony! Everyone was friendly and accommodating! Erin made it easy for me to be able to enjoy getting married, instead of being stressed!

Nicole was a pleasure to work with! She made our overall experience at Chart House, Redondo Beach an amazing one! From helping us plan our wedding to giving us valued advise, Nicole made the whole process leading up to our wedding much less stressful. We even had a last-minute request for turquoise napkins and she made it happen. The actual wedding day went perfectly! The banquet staff were really professional and the entrees were delicious. Chart House, Redondo Beach is located right on the beach, with views of the ocean from every window in the restaurant. It's not only a breathtaking location, but we also got a really good value with the banquet package, which included appetizers, entrees, and an open bar for most of the reception for 75 guests. My Wife and I Love the Chart House! Having the reception physically on the beach was simply amazing. For what you get and the location, you can't beat the price. I would've never thought I could afford a Beach wedding with the entire restaurant to ourselves in South Bay. I'm so glad my wife decided to check it out. The photos from our wedding are magical. If you like the beach and the ocean, this is your wedding destination.

Erin was great when we 1st approached the chart house, she answered every question and was with us every step of the way. She was professional and amazing to work with us. She took care of us the whole time.

I planned my wedding in just four weeks. Crazy, right? It was so great to have the beach wedding I had always imagined. The Chart House is such great location thanks to a private sandy area for a daytime ceremony and reception, a restaurant that serves some fantastic food, a restaurant space that can accommodate a growing guest list and hotels that are conveniently close to restaurant. Our contact, Erin Brack, made it so easy for my fiance and me. Don't get me wrong, it was still stressful but she responded to all my late night emails, gave me suggestions about table arrangements, and facilitated our tasting and rehearsal. Also, when we had last minute anxiety about our budget (which I'm sure every couple experiences), she made some really helpful suggestions on what to leave in and what to cut out. Thanks, Erin!

Erin at the Chart House is a true professional event & wedding planner, she thinks of EVERYTHING. She helped plan our DREAM wedding in 5 WEEKS!! Her confidence, quick responsiveness, creative ideas, additional vendor coordination (dance floor, custom cake, chair rentals, etc.) and top notch quality referrals to an excellent florist and our incredible photographer made my husband-to-be and me feel like we were completely supported and guided with several great ideas that were key through the entire planning process. She consistently offered to go above and beyond the call of duty to help keep us on-track and on schedule. The best location ever for a wedding. You can be on the beach without getting sand in your shoes...

We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Chart House in Redondo Beach and it was spectacular! The location is breathtaking. It provides an indoor venue with a gorgeous panoramic beach setting ... no need to tackle the outdoor elements. We ended up planning a day wedding (which was not our original choice). Yet during the day, we were able to take over the entire restaurant until 4PM. It was an incredible value. The food was delicious (not always an easy task when serving so many people). Erin and her staff worked their magic and the entire event ran so smoothly. I would highly recommend the Chart House for a special event location.

Chart House Redondo Beach was a great option for our daytime wedding. Great setting and good feedback on the food. Erin did an amazing job answering ALL of our questions and working hand in hand with us, our wedding coordinator and vendors. It was a pleasure to work with her.

I have no idea where everyone got the idea that Erin was professional! At one of our meetings with her she completely stood us up! Of course she said she was in her office but why didn't you answer our call?....sounds of grasshopper chirping in the background. The whole time we negotiated with her she had a take it or leave it attitude. In fairness we booked the location for Crystal Cove who owns the property Erin is just someone they hired to handle the bookings for them she is not an employee of Crystal Cove. Which comes mighty handy for her when any issue comes up. Typical conversation Me: Erin can you resolve this (fill in any blank regardless how small the issue it) Erin's Response: No, I can't because I don't work for Crystal Cove. Me: Erin can you do that? Erin's Response: You have to take it up with Crystal Cove. So basically this gives Erin and Crystal Cove the perfect excuse to not solve ANY PROBLEM they have because they can just blame each other for the res... Read moreponsibility. And one more thing there is only ONE RESTROOM in the premises and according to Erin that is more than enough for 100 guests so no complaining.
