  • I have read the comments that said Maria was difficult to work with but my experience with Maria for our October 3rd wedding was very pleasant. As soon as I saw RP from the bottom of the hill, I knew this was where I would have our wedding. Maria was very flexible with us and easy to talk to. The venue was beautiful and all of our guests have commented on how perfect the venue was. We had the ceremony in the back under the canopy and reception in the Grand Conservertory. Maria was kind enough to allow us to have babysitters on site for the children of our guests. We didn't want to have screaming babies and toddlers so we hired babysitters to watch the kids during the ceremony and half way through the reception. It worked out perfectly. We ordered pizzas for the kids and they had a great time with the sitters. All in all, everything went as we planned it and we could not have asked for a better venue. Thank you Maria.

  • I chose Raspberry Plain as my venue because I wanted the ability to have my wedding ceremony outside, but have a beautiful backup option if it rained. And being that my wedding was in April, that was a good possibility. I ended up pulling the ceremony indoors on the day of my wedding and I couldn't be happier. The Grand Conservatory is so beautiful both as a ceremony site and for the reception. All my guests loved the place and many were milling around outside snapping pictures of the house and the grounds. Maria was very professional to work with and though I didn't hire her as a wedding coordinator, she made sure everything ran smoothly the day of. I would recommend Raspberry Plain to anyone who has been dreaming of that indoor/outdoor wedding look where ceremony and reception can both be at the same place. It is a bit pricey in my opinion, but worth it in the end.

  • Raspberry Plain is the most beautiful location for a wedding I have ever seen. I am still hearing from friends and family that the thought the setting (Raspberry Plain) was PERFECT! We had our ceremony in the front lawn/Portico, which was a beautiful backdrop, and plenty of shade for a summer wedding. Cocktail hour was in the gardens, which were beautifully maintained, and the conservatory was definitely cool enough for it being the middle of August. We also had our Rehearsal Dinner there in the Carriage House, which was stunning as well. I was hoping to find a place that was all included (i.e. food, servers, alcohol, etc), but Maria has a list of vendors that have provided services for years at Raspberry Plain which was helpful. Maria is extremely knowledgeable abut and has wonderful ideas. I ended up hiring her as my coordinator for the day of, but she still provided be with suggestions prior to the big day. I did have some difficulty getting in touch with her, but I am per... Read more

  • My daughter's wedding and reception were recently held at Raspberry Plain. We could not have been happier with the service provided to us by coordinator Maria Guerra. She was professional, friendly and helpful. She was not intrusive in any way during the ceremony and reception but she took care of everything without us having to ask for anything. Thank you Maria.

  • Raspberry Plain is a gorgeous and very special venue. I highly recommend it to brides who want something memorable and unique. While it's on the more expensive side, it's worth the cost because you can bring in your own alcohol, which is a HUGE SAVINGS in the long-run. Maria is very sweet and pleasant to work with, but I liked having a separate wedding coordinator do the planning part. One wedding-day snag is that they forgot to set up the mobile dancefloor we had paid for, so we were without one on the day of our wedding. This turned out to not be a big deal because there was more room for more people to dance. Great venue though!!!

  • Raspberry Plain was an absolutely beautiful venue for our wedding. We got a lot of compliments on the views from the south lawn and the formal gardens. Maria was a great wedding coordinator. Her response time to emails could have been a little faster, but the execution of the wedding was perfect. She really knows how to put on a good event.

  • While the venue is beautiful, and we got some great pictures, we were disappointed about a number of issues. Maria, as many reviews had warned me, is not the most flexible of people. Initially, we really liked her and she seemed sweet, but as the wedding day grew near, her likability diminished-- and it's not fun dealing with a cranky person when you're a bride trying to plan your day. Maria often takens a while to answer phone calls/emails. After paying $800 to have access to the Carriage House on the day of the wedding (since the "bridal suite" she has is tiny and incredibly hot), she would not allow us to move the full-length mirror into the house. Also, the Carriage House was absolutely infested with bugs! Stink bugs, crickets, spiders-- both dead and alive. She came in on the day of the wedding when my bridesmaids and I were dodging the creatures trying to get ready, and swept, after my event coordinator had asked her to do so, but after the fact, she emailed me claiming tha... Maria is no longer the proprietor of Raspberry Plain Manor as there is new ownership now from November 2016 forward. So sorry you had that unfortunate experience. Raspberry Plain Manor IS still taking bookings, it's just not through Maria anymore as she works elsewhere. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in booking an event sometime in the future. We would love to host your next event!

  • My husband and I fell in love with Raspberry Plain when we visited. The garden area was the perfect site for our ceremony. The conservatory, with floor-to-ceiling windows, was also the perfect space for our reception. Our guests were in awe the entire time. They loved everything RP had to offer. Maria, the owner, was also great. She helped ensure that things ran smoothly. This is the perfect venue if you want both indoor and outdoor space (with a great view). The only setback about a summer wedding at RP is that the flowers in the garden are no longer in bloom and you have to be prepared to buy citronella candles in case the insects come out. Otherwise, we were very happy with our choice.

  • Raspberry Plain was a beautiful place for our wedding and reception; it was exactly what I always envisioned for our special day. Maria was so helpful from the day we first toured the venue all the way through our wedding day. She helped to make our day flawless from working with the different vendors to making sure the venue was spotless. Maria was very responsive and was able to provide advice on all aspects of our day. I would highly reccommend Raspberry Plain!

  • Raspberry Plain is gorgeous and the perfect wedding venue! Our guests loved it. It has several spots on the mansion grounds to pick a ceremony site. The inside has a huge reception room with a beautiful floor and glass windows all around for an indoor reception with the feel of being outside. There are many rooms where guests can walk around and mingle and take it all in! It is very well maintained and is a stunning place for photos. Our only issue is the wedding coordinator took a little while to return phone calls and emails. On the actual wedding day..the coordinator for Raspberry Plain was hard to locate and we felt a little lost. Other than that..everything went smoothly. Your guests will love the place and it was one of the most beautiful venues in Northern Virginia.

  • Raspberry Plain was beautiful and wonderful, and overall I'd give them an A. Maria, the owner, is hard to get ahold of and VERY slow to respond to emails (always use the phone with her) and she doesn't seem to save emails or make notes (so that when she told us we could have a keyboardist for our outdoor ceremony even though they don't typically allow amplified music, we had to remind her multiple times that she gave us permission to do that). But she really snapped to with helping us run the rehearsal and the ceremony, and while the place is definitely pricey, overall I'd say it was a great place to get married. All our guests called our parents while we were on our honeymoon to rave about how pretty the place was.

  • I have to say that even in the very early spring (before the flowers started to bloom) the venue and its surroundings were the perfect backdrop for the wedding. Although it seemed that Maria (the owner) was very strict on the rules, all of the important issues that I had, were dealt with. There is a wall in the conservatory that has large vents running across it. It is pretty unsightly. We were allowed to put lattice work with drapery in front of it which was a great improvement. There were a couple of issues that were not taken care of before the wedding, even though there was the promise that they would be. However, all in all, this was such a great place and we have so many wonderful memories of our wedding day, that these minor details were just that...minor. The caterer that Raspberry works with is great also. =)
