  • We love Rabbi Emily! She officiated our close friends' wedding five years ago, and we were so impressed by how wonderful her service was. It was clear that she had gotten to know our friends, sharing sweet stories and incorporating so much humor and warmth into the ceremony. When it came time for us to get married, we couldn't think of anyone else! Not only did she do an amazing job on the wedding day, but she was so helpful leading up to it. You won't just get an officiant, you'll get a kind, patient, and compassionate friend!

  • I cannot say enough good things about Rabbi Emily. She was a lovely officiant and we received many compliments about how moving and personal our wedding ceremony was. I recommended her for my cousin's wedding and she also received many compliments about how moving her ceremony was. Our ketubah signing was even thoughtful and an integral part of the occasion, not just a document signing at the start of the ceremony as I've seen it done elsewhere. Work with Rabbi Emily and you will gain a friend as well as an officiant.

  • Rabbi Emily was amazingly with helping me prepare for my wedding. In the months leading up to the big day, she helped me brush up on Jewish customs, as well as helped coordinate several miscellaneous details. We decided to forgo a wedding planner and do it all ourselves, so her help was invaluable. On top of which, we were living out of the country, so the Rabbi coordinated with us over Skype. She was immensely helpful and open. I would recommend her for any Jewish-themed event, especially weddings!

  • Simply put, Rabbi Emily is awesome and I hardly know where to start in recommending her. I am Jewish and my husband is not, but we wanted a Jewish ceremony and to raise a Jewish family. Rabbi Emily could not have been more warm, welcoming and excited for us. She provided lots of education for us, as well, and actively looked for ways to incorporate my husband's traditions into the ceremony. She welcomed us to high holiday and Shabbat services with her congregation as well - and needless to say, I have never attended services that were so meaningful (and it was fantastic to see her with her husband Ruben, who is the cantor!) During the months leading up to the wedding, she truly took time to know us individually and as a couple. We live out-of-state and have very busy schedules as medical residents - Rabbi Emily went out of her way with her equally busy schedule, even calling us at 11:30pm one night! As a result, the ceremony she helped us create was amazing - personal and meanin... Read more

  • I highly recommend Rabbi Emily! We were very pleased with the way our wedding service turned out... She was warm, friendly, upbeat, and centered the ceremony to what was most important to my husband and I. Only meeting a year prior to the wedding, Rabbi Emily made a continuous effort to get to know us and ensure that we were prepared for the wedding. Our experience was wonderful... And thanks to Rabbi Emily, we keep on getting compliments on how beatiful the ceremony was!

  • Rabbi Emily Losben is truly wonderful in every way. From day one, she was such a warm, kind, patient person to us. We were so nervous and stressed and she put us at ease from the start. We had organized meetings and discussion about the whole wedding planning process and she was sooooo responsive to all of our questions. She went above and beyond in every way to make our day absolutely splendid. She incorporated many parts of our personalities and our many likes and made the ceremony so personal and sweet! She has a wonderful sense of humor and brought this to the ceremony and we loved it. All of my nerves disappeared when I was up there because we were up there with her and she assembled a fantastic ceremony through and through. She began our ceremony with a quote from the movie, "The Princess Bride", our favorite movie, and we loved and really appreciated that! She is a very thoughtful and dynamic person. I completely recommend her for your ceremony!!

  • Rabbi Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is a wonderful human being and officiant. After our ceremony numerous people (of different denominations) made a point to tell me that our ceremony was one of the best they had ever been a part of. My wife and I could not have been more pleased with her. She took the time to get to know us so she was able to add very personal touches to our ceremony. Without any reservations we would recommend her!

  • Rabbi Emily did an amazing job officiating our wedding. I had just converted to Judaism before the wedding and she struck the perfect balance - conducting a rich and meaningful Jewish ceremony, that was also easily understandable and inviting for those guests who were not Jewish. It was also highly personalized (in a good way). Before the wedding, my husband and I spent time with her so that she could get to know us as individuals and as a couple. She clearly listened and internalized, because during the ceremony she wove in our shared stories and anecdotes in a way that seemed easy and natural. I would highly recommend Rabbi Emily - she was a special part of our wedding day.

  • We could not have been happier having Rabbi Emily as the officiant at our wedding. She was responsive and professional, but more than that she brought a warmth to our wedding that made the ceremony that much more special. Rabbi Emily truly took the time to get to know us as a couple, so that when she spoke it was from the heart. She was flexible enough to make sure that the ceremony fit what we wanted and she is also highly trained and well-educated in all manner of reform wedding ceremonies. We highly recommend her!

  • In 2008 my Sister and Brother in law adopted my beautiful amazing niece Kyra from Vietnam. Our Family wanted her to have a baby naming. This was not easy to do being that there seemed to be so many religious restrictions . When we found Rabbi Emily all she saw was this amazing gift my family received and saw no restrictions and no boundaries, and our little wonder was named in front of the torah. I knew then that when and if NY legalized same sex marriages that she would be our choice to officiate our special day. July 24 2011 was the day Same Sex Marriages became legal in the State of New York. On July 27th 2011 my Parnter of 8 years and I got married with our families present at a park by the water. Rabbi Emily did the most amazing service and tailored it to our personal and spiritual needs . Her openness , love ,and powerful strength created a moment in time that still brings tears of joy to us when either speaking or thinking about it... we love YOU Rabbi E.... YOU ROCK!!!!!

  • I met Rabbi Emily at the age of 12 when she came into my life as my youth group advisor. Thirteen years later, I never would have guessed that she would play such an important role in my life. Initially, planning for our service was extremely frustrating and disheartening. Due to the fact that my husband, Niall, is Catholic, we were turned away by many synagogues and Rabbis, even though they were reform and we were planning on raising our kids Jewish. I was nervous to ask Emily to perform our ceremony after so much rejection, but I chose my words carefully and described our situation to her. In one short response line, she made our wedding dreams a reality – “OMG YES YES YES!!!” My husband, Niall, and I met with Emily twice before she performed the ceremony for our wedding. In each of the counseling sessions, we discussed our friends, family members and experiences, as well as many problems that young couples face as newlyweds. Finally, before walking down the aisle, Em... Read more

  • Emily is an old family friend, who was our first thought as officiant after getting engaged. Although we've known her for a long time, Emily was very professional. She officiated over our Jewish ceremony, although my husband is not Jewish. She took the time to customize the ceremony to keep it true to Judaism, but in a way that made my husband comfortable with the experience. We met up several times before the big day, which included evaluating compatibility tests, and discussing areas where we needed to improve communications. We were happy that Emily was not able to just attend, but also to participate in our special day!

  • Rabbi Emily goes above and beyond, especially in the time leading up to the wedding, meeting with the couple and their families, and providing pre-marital counseling at no extra charge, something that most other rabbis do not provide. She is very personable, and even held an oneg shabbat for us a few weeks before the wedding at her temple. Rabbi Emily got to know us very well and was there for us every step of the way. Her husband also provided cantorial services at the wedding. I would highly recommend her.
