  • I was married 35 years ago this coming August. I had Pratt Abbott clean and seal my wedding gown in a box. Two years ago 2011, I decided to take the dress out of the box to have it framed and displayed if it still looked decent enough. The gown and veil were as perfect as the day I was married. I am so happy that I had this done back in 1978.

  • **Writing this review on 10/30/2014 for a my wedding dress worn 11/10/2007** ....Great customer service!!! I currently live in Arizona but I am from Maine and wanted a company close to my mothers house, where I would be storing my wedding dress long term (I move often). I shipped my chocolate stained wedding dress from 2007 to Pratt-Abbott. I was not super hopeful that the chocolate dribbles down the front of my dress were going to come out. Much to my surprise, even after sitting in my warm AZ storage for almost 8 years it came out! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Pratt-Abbott who worked with me and my mother to complete this project. They were super helpful and very quick to respond to all communications!

  • Angela and Becky at the South Portland Pratt Abbott did a wonderful cleaning and restoration of my Grandmother's wedding dress. She was married in 1915. The dress will now be on display in her home town Historical Museum.

  • i brought in my daughters dress for cleaning and mentioned it was her wedding dress. It was a strait long dress with an appliqued lace overlay, not a traditional wedding gown which I understand would be expensive to preserve. I wanted just a cleaning of a formal dress. I wasn't paying attention to the credit card billing. Later I noticed I had paid $159 which I think is way too much. If I hadn't mentioned wedding surely I shouldn't have paid nearly this much. Her sister's long dress was $27. I think the price should have been discussed.

  • My daughter wore her grandmother's 1956 wedding dress made by her great-grandmother, who was a Home Economics instructor and superb seamstress! The gown was a waltz-length gown of white nylon tulle over satin, designed with a molded lace bodice with cap sleeves and a bell-shaped bouffant skirt; the gown was in remarkable shape for the age but was very delicate and had some slight yellowing, but Pratt Abbott brought it to life for my daughter so it looked 'Brand New'!!! Many thanks to Pratt Abbott for making this an extra special wedding day and also for preserving this delicate jewel for years to come! I would highly recommend Pratt Abbott to take care of your special heirloom for memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Pratt Abbott was very responsive to my requests. They provided an estimate up front which was appreciated. Communication was very open. The dress was neatly packed in to the box but could have been a little more nicely arranged. Overall I would recommend this service to other brides.
