  • My original review was disputed by BBG Patina. This is probably why their review is high - because they dispute negative reviews! ---- Worst experience ever! I originally booked the venue for our Jun, 2020 wedding but decided to cancel it because I really hate their attitude. I really like the garden atmosphere that's why I picked BBG, but starting from the beginning, I noticed it was not pleasant working with them: 1) Right after we signed the contract, I noticed our contact Victoria became very irresponsive, so we reached out to her manager and requested that we want to change a new contact person. The manager just directly told Victoria our complaint and we had to continue to work with Victoria. 2) This year due to COVID, we got a new contact person Bonnie. She's responsive but not professional. When we decided to postpone our wedding, she told us wrong dates both in call and in email. After A WEEK we decided the new date and told all of our vendors, Bonnie finally realized the ... Read more

  • For a venue this expensive and where outdoor ceremonies are the norm, there is no excuse for generators to blow out in the middle of the ceremony with no backup plan. We had spent months and a lot of money preparing for this moment to share our vows in front of our closest family and friends. No one heard anything because there was no electricity to power our sound and the venue couldn't even pretend to try to remedy the situation or suggest a backup plan. The venue was rather unapologetic and has decided to ignore our request for an explanation and some form of courtesy compensation. I guess once you pay this place you no longer have any negotiation leverage. Furthermore, the banquet manager tried cutting off our party 2 hours prior to our contractual end time. Good thing we had a copy of the contract with us. While the venue is absolutely gorgeous and the food is decent, I caution any couple to think twice before booking with this vendor if you care for your vows to be heard... Read more

  • Having our wedding at the BBG was perfect. They handled food, venue, seating, etc. and were a well-oiled machine. Our guests raved about the location and the food and on the day of the staff was so supportive and helpful. A guest brought a surprise plus one and the team made it work. I felt a bit ill at one point and the captain went out of her way to take care of me. They were excellent and I’m so glad this was where we got married.

  • The wedding/events team at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Patina) is spectacular! Victoria was our lead planner and she was organized, attentive, and professional. Throughout the planning process she rolled with the punches, accommodated our every request, and delivered above and beyond our expectations. When we walked into our bridal suite there was an unexpected huge bucket of champagne on ice - what a beautiful touch! Also, the day of, we had someone assigned to just us for food, drink, unpacking, packing up, etc. which meant we literally had nothing to worry about logistically except getting married and having a wonderful time with our guests. As for the overall guest experience, they knocked it OUT OF THE PARK! The food at cocktail hour and dinner was delicious. The waitstaff was attentive, the course roll-out was on time and on point, and the beverage selection across wine, liquor, beer was plentiful and diverse. Truly every detail was perfectly executed, organized, and seamless. Our w... Read more

  • We had a great time working with Patina. They are pricey, but we saved a lot by getting married on a Sunday night. We worked primarily with Emily at first, and then worked closely with Sophia. Both were totally professional and polished and easy to work with. They were responsive (often late at night) and tried to accommodate our needs as best as they could (at times, because the venue is a non-profit organization and a museum open to the public, things were out of their hands). The venue itself is gorgeous and felt so magical on the day of our wedding. It ultimately was too cold to have the wedding outside (late October), but we didn't mind at all -- the glassed-in atrium was beautiful and airy for the ceremony, and having our cocktail hour in the Steinhardt Conservatory, where our guests could go explore the different plant rooms was so unique and such a big hit. The Palm House was again beautiful for the reception -- much more modern than your typical reception hall (warm lighti... Read more

  • Wedding of my dreams! I've always wanted to get married at this venue and Victoria and her team made it possible. They were attentive to all the details. I had so many changes last minute and they accommodated to all of it. I can't stress how amazing the staff were, their service was impeccable. During that night, I forgot to bring a garter, Victoria and her team took the time to hand stitch one. I can't thank them enough. We had an awesome time at our wedding. The CAKE was delicious!!

  • We had our wedding reception in the Palm House of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in June 2017. It was an incredibly beautiful venue. It offered everything you can think of. The garden area is exquisite and the Palm House itself is a breathtaking glass structure. We had to use their catering service, which worked out great because the food was excellent. We worked with Emily P. throughout the planning process who was easy to work with and extremely helpful. For example, we didn’t have a lot of time for pictures in the garden because our reception took place shortly after our church ceremony. Emily helped us plan accordingly, so we could get a golf cart to take us for a quick trip to the rose garden and some other areas for pictures before the cocktail hour ended. Additionally, all the wedding day staff was outstanding. They provided excellent service. We want to thank Emily P., everyone at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Patina Restaurant Group for their great work and for helping to... Read more

  • The obvious: great food, beautiful venue. Not obvious: extremely professional staff; amazing communication skills; attention to detail (I really tested this one: I made changes so many times, coordinate made ZERO mistakes in updating her end); thorough. I cannot stress this enough, especially when it gets down to the wires, having a vendor that communicates well and has superb attention to detail makes a world of difference.

  • We got married at the Atrium at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and had a great experience with them. They handle everything for you and provide a great staff on the day of the event. Very professional with a nice, upscale vibe. The food is WONDERFUL and the facilities are BEAUTIFUL. We loved every second of our wedding day and I would recommend getting married there as well.

  • Beautiful location but I am disappointed with Patina. In my opinion, they were stressful to deal with and did not execute aspects of my event well; and their customer service was lacking (except at the end, when they did make an effort to make things right, which I do appreciate). I found my assigned Patina contact difficult to communicate with -- she meant well, but was not very helpful over e-mail and made many errors. In addition, there were numerous last minute issues that should have been avoided. 2 months before my wedding, they told me they wanted to book another event in the Palm House that interfered with the set up timeline I thought (apparently mistakenly, they said) that I was getting. After much discussion, they did work with me to solve the problem, but the experience was very stressful for me. And in my opinion, their tone was that this miscommunication was all my fault, which upset me and seemed like bad customer service. 4 days before my wedding, they told me ... Read more

  • We were so lucky to work with Emily and the Patina events team for our wedding. They worked with us and our coordinator to make sure the entire day went off without a hitch. The smallest details were attended to, such as making sure we got our cake home and ensuring that we were able to have some private time after the ceremony. Everyone who attended said this was one of the best weddings they'd been to, and that's all thanks to the BBG team. The Atrium was perfect for us, and while we occasionally had to work to figure out timing, additions to our package, etc., it was always a pleasure corresponding with Emily. Thank you again for everything!

  • About 6 months ago, my husband and I got married at The Atrium at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. If you're considering to get married at BBG with Patina Group (food caterers, and specifically Emily Piuggi), we highly recommend that you READ OUR FULL REVIEW (extended version is on Google, Facebook, and Yelp) as space is limited on this site. The garden of itself is a beautiful place; however, we DO NOT recommend a wedding hosted with Patina Group (their designated caterers). In a nutshell: Emily Piuggi, the point person of Patina Group, was impossible to reach unless she reached out for payments/barely responsive, she disappeared during our wedding, our ceremony was started late, some of our table decorations were not set up, they served the ENTIRELY WRONG ENTREE and blamed us for the confusion/mistake they've made, MY HUSBAND AND MY DINNER WAS THROWN OUT, there was no "captain" (for which they charged a fee to have) throughout the event and no point person for all the negligent mistakes they... • We had an amazing wedding in large part thanks to the Patina team at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. They were communicative, prompt and easy to work with. We heard all night long that the food was great and people couldn't seem to stop telling us how delicious our cake was! We knew the day would be beautiful because of the setting but this team made it exceptional.

  • Our Brooklyn Botanic Garden Wedding (at the Palm House) was a fairytale come true! It was stunningly beautiful! The food was delicious. The service was great! Sometimes our communications during the planning period were slow, but it all worked out in the end. We did come many times prior to the wedding to look at the venue, which was very nice and convenient. They did everything they could to make our wedding beautiful and special and super fun! They were flexible with vendors and decor too. DREAM VENUE!
