  • Kate Young is amazing - we loved working with her. Also, 12th Street is a preferred caterer and we loved Harry - he is wonderful. The entire experience was easy and the venue was beautiful!

  • "Extraordinary" is the only word that comes close to aptly describing this magnificent venue, the care we received and our overall experience with the PAFA team as we planned our daughter and son-in-law's wedding! The venues -- both the Historic Landmark Building where we held our traditional ceremony and the Hamilton Building where we hosted the cocktail hour and reception -- could not be more beautiful. It was truly a perfect setting in every way. PAFA's wonderfully attentive, enthusiastic and supportive team of professionals -- James Gaddy, Amani Bright and Alma Radocaj -- were always there for us, attentive to our special requests and needs throughout. Everyone worked well together with our planner, caterer, florist and band, and the evening could not have gone more smoothly. Our family felt so very fortunate to have such a wonderful experience in planning, executing and truly enjoying the best night of our lives! I would be happy to share our experiences with any future bride... Read more

  • What can I say... It was just the perfect venue for a wedding of two artists. Spectacular ambience for the perfect wedding. Working with Judy was a delight! She was very accommodating and supportive.

  • My fiance and I were married recently at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, in the Historic Landmark Building. Our guests were wowed by the grandiose and beautiful decor and impressive artwork. Unlike other museum weddings I've been to (been to several actually) where the events take place in an area outside the main museum, our ceremony and cocktail and reception took place at the heart of the museum. Our guests ate 5 ft away from paintings that were worth millions of dollars! It was certainly more impressive than any ballroom, country club, hotel or old mansion. The best part besides the magnificent surroundings was the special events coordinator at PAFA. Judi was warm, responsive, helpful in every way, and friendly. She was crucial in helping my fiance and I plan the ceremony portion of the wedding. Why would we spend thousands of dollars on a wedding coordinator when Judi did it for free and knew the ins and outs of holding a ceremony in a unique venue such as the gr... Read more

  • Our wedding reception was at The Samuel M.V. Hamilton Building of PAFA. The space is the entire second floor which is very large and open. The cocktail area overlooks The Convention Center and artwork is throughout the entire gallery. Once the cocktail hour is over the pocket doors open and another gallery appears where dinner and dancing occurs. This room is also filled with beautiful art. The exclusive caterer is Duffy. They are fabulous. We could not have asked for a better wedding venue. When we first saw The Hamilton.. we knew we did not have to look any further. You will love it!!!

  • I had my wedding at the Academy of Fine Arts in November 2010 and it was absolutely amazing. The space is magnificent, modern...but not stuffy. It is so unique. Judy at PAFA was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. The staff was amazing. Everything was perfect and my guests are still raving about the fun that was had. The exclusive caterer, Jimmy Duffy, created the most delicious menu and personally the best wedding food I had ever tasted. Helene, from Duffy, treated us so well throughout the entire night. I cannot recommend this place enough and will have the best memories for the rest of my life. It is an absolutely beautiful place and everyone that works there, even the security guards, are extremely nice and helpful.

  • The moment that I walked into the Historic Landmark Building of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, I knew it was the place I would be married. It was the one and only venue we visited. It is absolutely perfect for a couple wanting to have a wedding of 100-130 people in a non-traditional venue. When I arrived the evening of the wedding, I was blown away by how absolutely beautiful everything was. It so far exceeded my expectations that it literally brought tears to my eyes. Judi Garst was an absolute pleasure to work with and was instrumental in making my wedding the best night of my life.

  • PAFA was an incredible choice for our wedding reception. We needed a larger venue than our ceremony venue could hold (Masonic Temple, which is right across the street). The Hamilton Building at PAFA gave a beautiful juxtaposition of our very ornate venue for the ceremony. Going from a very historic museum such as the Masonic temple, across the street to the bright and modern Hamilton Building at PAFA, was really the perfect combination. You could get this same dichotomy by having your ceremony at PAFA's other building, and hold the reception in the Hamilton Building. My husband is a Free Mason, so we chose to get married in his lodge for financial reasons. Annah and Kate were INCREDIBLE and made everything we wanted to happen, happen. From planning, through to picking up our vases/flowers etc the following Monday, we couldn't have asked for better people to work with. Annah even helped me find and connect me with a baker for my gluten free wedding cake, when many bakeries were not res... Read more

  • My fiance and I are getting married in November of this year so I can't review their flexibility just yet. As of now though we've had such an amazing experience. We were awe struck when we walked in for the first time and have been treated with such respect and attentiveness. I have asked on multiple occasions if I could bring someone by to see it and it's always been answered with an enthusiastic "yes!". We have our menu tasting in July and I can't wait! Erin, the coordinator for Stephen Starr catering is a delight to work with and I'm so glad we chose PAFA for our reception.

  • I think PAFA is a perfect, non-traditional location for a wedding reception (and ceremony). My wife and I weren't interested in having our reception at a traditional ballroom. We wanted something that was fun, different and reflected some of our unique characteristics. I think PAFA hit all of that. Being an art gallery, the space (the Hamilton Building) was both uniquely decorated (the walls were adorned with one-of-a-kind paintings) and minimally adorned (outside of the art, the space was a blank slate). With some uplighting,a dance floor wash and wonderful centerpieces, the main gallery turned into a reception space that was uniquely ours. Since the reception space is an art gallery that is open to the public, the times that the vendors can access the space can be somewhat limited, however, we didn't get any complaints from any other vendors about any issues. There are also some limitations in the types of beverages that can be served and what can be used in decorating the space,... Read more

  • Gorgeous venue! We were surprised that PAFA was available for weddings. Who wouldn’t want to get married in a beautiful museum? The ceremony location, on the landing of a grand staircase, was both traditional and out of the box. Aside from the setting, we were impressed with the professionalism of the staff. Although it’s not a typical wedding venue, if you pick PAFA you don’t need to do much yourself. Only drawbacks are that Duffy’s is the only caterer you are allowed to use (that was absolutely fine with us), the venue is pricey compared to others and the maximum guest count if you want dancing is about 130.
