Oahu Strings was great to work with from the very beginning. We had an outdoor ceremony at Halekulani Hotel in Honolulu. We hired a violin and cello duo from Oahu Strings to play at our wedding ceremony. They could not have done any better! It was exactly as I wanted and we received many compliments on their performance. We can't recommend them enough to anyone considering about having a live performer. The one thing I knew I had to have for my wedding was a string quartet. It is something I have always dreamed of, so I decided to have one for my ceremony music, and then switch to a DJ for the reception. I wanted a quartet that could play a classical song for the ceremony, and pop music for the one hour cocktail party after. Finding Oahu Strings was a dream come true. They delivered everything I had dreamed of and more. They even learned a song for me that I had requested. Hearing them playing my wedding song (Canon in D) before I began walking made me immediately tear up. I had so many compliments on how much beauty it added to the ceremony. Music was one of the most important aspects of my wedding. Oahu Strings was amazing, very accommodating and fulfilled our requests and always promptly responding throughout the planning which is important when planning a destination wedding. Oahu strings did an amazing job for our wedding :-) they played for our whole ceremony and made it absolutely magical. We were so thrilled when they said they could learn how to play our song - there was no sheet music for it! But they created the sheet music from ear and played it flawlessly. I always dreamt of waking down the aisle to this song and they were able to bring it to life. You won’t go wrong choosing them for your wedding. They are professional, dedicated, and talented.

I hired the Oahu Strings quartet to perform during the ceremony and cocktail hour for my wedding on the North Shore. As a musician myself (having studied music in college in Boston), live music was one of my top wedding priorities. I love music from various genres and Oahu Strings can play it all from classical, opera, top 40, jazz, Disney, movie themes, and even video games! My guests raved about how great they were and at different times even begun to sing along to the themes from Jurassic Park and Star Wars, which the string quartet played! During the cocktail hour, even my friend's 3-year old daughter started to sing along to the song from the Minions movie, "So Happy Together". When the quartet played jazz standards from Cole Porter, my husband's 90-year old grandmother couldn't help but dance! I think they were great. Mitchell, my main contact, was super responsive. They also agreed to play Sugar, Sugar by The Archies for the recessional per my husband's and my request. There were many compliments from my guests!

Very professional, showed up on time, set up and played with no problems, music sounded great. Several guests commented that the live music was a great addition to the ceremony. We used a string trio for a wedding with 60 guests instead of a quartet for cost considerations, and it still sounded excellent. We were in contact with Mitchell before the wedding and he made sure that he had all the information necessary to make things run smoothly. Highly recommend them.

Oahu strings was fantastic throughout the wedding process. In the lead-up to the wedding, they were very responsive, as well as accommodating. We booked them for our ceremony music, and were able to have them arrange a specific song to play during the recessional (a version of the theme song from "Up" for a cello and violin). We were also able to pick out every portion of the ceremony music from a big list that they had in as much detail as we wanted. Come the day of the ceremony, the two musicians we had booked were on time and ready to go in formal attire. They played beautifully for the entire time we had booked them for and made sure to complete all of the post ceremony songs even though nearly everyone had left the pavilion before the end of the final song. I really appreciated their professionalism and would recommend them for any future weddings.

Great! They were shooting Jurassic World II on the Island the week we were married (which we didn't know) and the traffic was awful! Everyone was late for the wedding, the vendors, guests, and myself. I made it to the venue last, over an hour late for my own wedding, but the musicians stayed to preform for the ceremony. Sounded beautiful!
