  • We reached out to Mike about a month and a half before our 9/26 wedding. Mike and his associates were always quick to respond to all of our emails. We had two zoom calls with Mike, one to go over his music planning system, and one to review everything the week of the wedding. Both times he was prepared and professional. On the day of the wedding he double checked the names and songs with me before the introductions to make sure everything was correct. We did not provide many songs that we required him to play and he just read the room. All of his selections were perfect for the crowd and the dance floor was full all night. I would recommend Mike's Music to anyone getting married!

  • Where do I even begin.=? Getting married is stressful enough. Getting married during a pandemic is something we don't have a handbook on. Mike and his team were literally our saving grace. Through a cancelled wedding to rescheduling to dealing with ever changing guidelines Mike and his team made our day actually happen. From a contactless photobooth and hand sanitizing stations, to driving all the way to Maine for our wedding and even sending us a a gift when our wedding got cancelled with an encouraging message I literally feel like these people are family. Our dance floor was packed and I kept receiving compliments all night long. Here we are weeks later and people are still raving about just how much fun they had. Thank you Mike Kelly and John for the best night of our lives!

  • We met with John twice before our wedding. He listened to the environment we wanted to create and was very easy to work with. We did cuts of songs for our dances which were exactly as we were hoping for. Our guests made many comments about how all the songs flowed seamlessly and how great our DJ was! When it came to announcements, he was involved as we wanted him to be and was very respectful of our "do-not-play list."

  • One of the best decisions my husband and I made during our planning process was hiring Mike’s Music. We were referred to Mike by two of my co-workers who hired him for their weddings and were so pleased! Mike is incredibly professional, organized, knowledgeable and still super fun. He provided the sound set up for our ceremony and DJ’ed our wedding. He has state of the art equipment and has carefully selected what he uses to provide the best experience. We loved all the music he played and he was really responsive to what we wanted. Thank you Mike for making our day that much more special!

  • Wow! Mike and his team were absolutely amazing to work with!! We had the pleasure of working with DJ Jon and he absolutely nailed it! Our dance floor was packed all night long. He even helped me cut my father/daughter song so we could surprise the crowd with a special choreographed dance. The crowd went wild!! The photo booth was packed all night long and I have the best photos from it. We even hired a videographer through Mike and he was fantastic to work with. All around, I can't thank the entire team enough for everything. It was the best night of our lives!!!

  • Mike was unreal. Such a nice guy and so easy to work with. He was so focused on making sure we had the night we were dreaming of. He worked with our JP to get the ceremony music perfect and was excellent throughout cocktail hour and dinner. We had THE BEST time dancing the night away. He has a great system of allowing you to choose a good variety of the songs you wanted and knows exactly where to add others in. Everyone at the wedding was dancing which was really important to me. We had the best night we could have asked for!

  • We had an amazing experience with Mike as our wedding reception DJ! The online planning tool made it easy for us to make our playlist, pick special songs, and outline the reception timeline. Over email and in person, Mike and his team were helpful and professional. SOOO many of our guests (the young and older crowd) complimented how awesome the dance floor and music was throughout the night. I highly recommend Mike’s Music; you won’t regret it!

  • I am so glad that we chose Mike’s Music for our wedding. After attending a wedding in 2016 where Mike Dj’d and hearing rave reviews from our friends, we knew Mike was the person who we wanted to work with on our big day. We got married on May 25th 2019 and he provided our music as well as our lighting! Mike is a true professional and he was awesome to work with. He took the time to get to know my husband Justin and I, to understand what we were looking for. Throughout planning Kelly and Mike checked in our our process with utilizing the online planner for our music. This planner was so easy and fun to use as we decided what songs we wanted/ didn’t want played. During our final meeting, Mike was able to provide recommendations for our ceremony music and lighting.   • We had the most incredible experience using Mike's Music as the DJ for our wedding. Mike came highly recommended, and he was the first and only person I called to DJ our wedding! The one thing I wanted for our wedding was for EVERYONE to be on the dance floor all night long, and MIKE DELIVERED! We gave him a few specific songs we really wanted played, and trusted is expertise and judgment to fill in the rest - and he kept everyone on the dance floor until the very end. He was great at reading the crowd, keeping everyone moving and kept the flow of the whole day moving perfectly. We had guests texting us in the days after the wedding telling us how much they loved the music and dancing, saying it was one of the best wedding's they had been to - and that's truly because of Mike! He was a true professional and is seriously talented - I recommend him to everyone and anyone looking for a DJ!

  • If you're as lucky as I am, my wife did most of the planning for our wedding. She gave me one important task to find our music vendor so I couldn't let her down. I researched a LOT of DJ's, bands, and live classical musicians in the area and I couldn't be happier that I found Mike. He was by far the most professional and organized vendor we dealt with throughout our wedding planning. There were times when we would email vendors and not hear back for a day or two... not Mike. He would proactively email us with itineraries and detailed plans for the big day and everything went very smoothly. He used wireless microphones during our ceremony so the pictures would be unobstructed by mic stands. We were initially concerned about the sound quality but Mike assured us that his equipment is very high quality and he was right.   • I am so glad that we found Mike’s Music for our wedding. We got married in August at Indian Pond Country Club. Mike provided our music, lighting and photo booth. Mike is a true professional. He was excellent to work with. He took the time to get to know us and to understand what we were looking for. He gave us access to an online planner that we were able to use to keep track of songs that we did and didn’t want to use. During our final meeting, he was able to provide recommendations for our ceremony music and lighting. He went through all the names of the people in our bridal party to make sure that he would pronounce them correctly. Mike was pleasant and had a professional demeanor. Our guests had so much fun dancing the night away. They also LOVED our photo booth. I loved that we got a flash drive at the end of the night with all the photo booth pictures on it.   • This was the only vendor that we had an issue with at our wedding. First off, our DJ was very nice and energetic. He was on time. He stayed on schedule. But we had some issues that occurred during the ceremony and reception. We had a phone meeting prior to the wedding to go over logistics. This included going over the order of the ceremony songs as well as the pronunciation of everyone’s names. Our DJ played the incorrect song for the ceremony and also grossly mispronounced all of the Asian names as well as changed my dad’s name into a woman’s name. My guests were laughing to me later and my relatives mentioned it to me in passing. When I sent an email to Mike’s music with these points, Michael responded that our DJ has never received a complaint in 15 years, that the DJ was very upset that I said that he said the names wrong, and that he pronounced them exactly how I told him to so it is my fault.     Karen, I am very sorry that our email exchanges after the wedding have escalated to you feeling we turned this around on you or disrespected you in anyway, that was not our intent. As soon as I saw your first email on Sunday and had access to a computer, I responded with “I am sorry to hear you are unhappy”. As Jon was at an event on Sunday, I let you know that I couldn’t connect with him that evening and I let you know I would talk to him and respond to you within 48 hours. I emailed you on Tuesday morning (within 48 hours) with the outcome of my conversation with Jon, here’s a recap with more detail: • Regarding the 1st Processional song: o During your phone conversation, Jon noticed that you had two different songs selected, Ashitaka and San under the wedding details form and First Love (both by Joe Hisaishi) under the Ceremony music selection. Jon mentioned that you selected First Love as the 1st processional song and Ashitaka and San as the song you would walk down the aisle to. Jon told me that he played the song (First Love by Joe Hisaishi) that was provided via a YouTube link because he could not find it anywhere else and confirmed it over the phone in your meeting. o There was a delay with the onsite coordinator for the bridesmaids and the song (First Love) was played on loop until they were ready, the song was then restarted when they were ready. o As a matter of practice, we type up our details and send them to our clients ahead of the wedding for them to review, we sent the email on Monday, July 1st and did not receive a response, so we assumed that the details were good to go. • Regarding the concern that you only had an hour and a half of dancing: o I explained that we start dancing when dinner is completed (we are at the mercy of the venue/caterer), Jon knew that time was running short, he forfeited his own dinner to make sure that he got the party started. o One of your concerns during the meeting was that no one would dance. He played as many requested songs as possible and also read the crowd to keep them dancing with his own choices. o Jon said that the dance floor was packed and everyone seemed to be having a good time. • Regarding the name pronunciations: o I explained that we do our best in our final details meeting to review and pronounce names as we hear them. o Unfortunately, because of circumstances out of our control, Jon had a phone meeting instead of meeting with you in person. o Jon thought he had pronounced the names as he heard them over the phone. o If someone had come up to him during the event and told him of his mistakes, he may have been able to correct them and apologize to your wedding party and father for the mistake. You called my office after my email reply, because I asked you to call if you would like to discuss this further. You spoke to Kelly briefly who was trying to set something up or have me call you right back. As she stated, she thought it was best not to continue to go back and forth via email and to speak to me directly. You told her it wasn’t a good time and your schedule was all over the place and you would call back around 4:00pm either later this week or next week. I would have called you back, but wanted to respect your schedule and the message that you were going to call me back. If we had the opportunity to speak on the phone, you would have heard the apology again and the remorse in my voice. In my response email, I tried to explain the situation as Jon described to me with facts, as you know, email has no tone. In response to your review: • I did apologize in my first email to you. • We like in person meetings to be able to record and review the entire meeting so nothing gets overlooked or missed, especially name pronunciations. We were not able to do that over the phone. • Early in my career, I personally have had a few situations where name pronunciations were brought to my attention during a wedding and I was able to correct it on site. • I DO NOT think that this is your fault in any way, I only mentioned Jon’s longevity in DJing to point out that this is not a regular occurrence, I DO NOT think that your comments are fake, I DID NOT try to guilt you and I DO NOT think you are nuts. We are very sorry that the situation as described above happened, Jon was upset that he did not pronounce the names correctly or play the correct song. As a full-time professional DJ and event entertainment company, we do take this very seriously. Jon is writing a formal apology and we have already discussed and put in place internal processes to ensure that this will never happen again. Again, we are sorry that this escalated to make you feel like we were putting the blame on you, we in no way intended to disrespect or continue to upset you. Mike
