  • I bought an engagement ring for my fiancee on MiaDonna's website. The ring was beautiful, and the wealth of information available on their site led me to what I thought was a reasonably-priced ethical option, and taught me much of what I wanted to know about choosing jewelry. On top of that, their mission and cause was moving and ethics was a major factor in the decision. Now for the downside: Their patented Diamond Hybrid simulant is extremely fragile and a poor excuse for a stone. We ended up needing to resize my fiancee's ring twice, and when it was returned to us the stone was loose. I brought it to a local jeweler, who confirmed with a magnifier that not only was it loose, but was loose because the girdle of the stone had been chipped - a part of the stone only exposed during professional repair. Since I had only allowed MiaDonna to handle it per their warranty, the fault lies with them. My fiancee had not even had a chance to wear the ring, a month and a half after the proposal!... Hi Matthew, I am pleased to hear you were satisfied with the quality of the engagement ring setting you received, but apologize that the quality of the center stone did not meet your standards. Had you received the ring originally in damaged condition, we would have supplied a full refund on the ring or stone or both. However, since the ring was outside the 30 days, had been worn, and was resized twice by your request (in your statements regarding repairs I assume the resizing was what you were referring to), this was not eligible for return for a refund. We have a very thorough multi-step Quality Control process for every ring before it ships, but it is possible something like this could have been missed due to human error. We are happy to replace the center stone with a brand new stone if this is damaged whether it was from the resizing, wear, or even if it was done by the third party jeweler - but we would have to review the stone to confirm the damage. As we stated in our response to your original inquiry, if there are chips on the stone, this would be eligible for replacement of the current stone with a brand new one under our Lifetime Guarantee. Our Lifetime Guarantee covers any color change or chipping due to manufacturer defects, as seen by the naked eye, and this information is not hidden in fine print but clearly stated in the third paragraph on our warranty page (https://www.miadonna.com/pages/guarantee). While it sounds like the chip on the girdle is not visible to the naked eye as you were shown it under 10-20x magnification, we are happy to make an exception and replace this for you complimentary, covering the shipping costs and doing a thorough inspection before it is sent back to you.

  • MiaDonna is FABULOUS! Before my fiance proposed, I let him know that I did not want a "real" diamond, knowing how terrible the process is for them to be obtained. He listened and found a place in Portland that creates lab-grown diamonds which honestly look more stunning than others I have seen before! Needless to say, MiaDonna is such a great company and cause. If you want a stunning ring without the guilt, check them out!

  • My husband bought my engagement ring from MiaDonna and oh my 😍 it’s so perfect. The quality is amazing. I couldn’t stop looking at it the first few months I got it 😂 He knew I liked gold and solitaire and he custom made the perfect one for me. I couldn’t of dreamed up a more “me” ring.

  • Why am I only allowed to add 5 stars? I wish I could add more for this amazing company! Not only were they AMAZING to work with, but they went above and beyond in so many ways, and the ring is perfect. I have a unique engagement ring and was really struggling to find a permanent piece that I would want to wear with it. I found MiaDonne via google and submitted a request online. They get back to you about any needs or custom orders extremely quickly. Their home try on is amazing and really helps you narrow things down. The custom process was extremely efficient and great. They allowed me to send in clay molds to design my ring from to match, they helped me when the ring got lost with UPS (not their fault, a local mail issue) and so so so much more. Linley was the specialist who helped me and she gave me advice when I needed it, tried rings on and sent me pictures, regularly updated me, dealt with all of my annoying questions, and so so so much more. I’m so in love with my ring and so ... Read more

  • I absolutely love Mia Donna! They are appointment online but most people do it all online. I had a friend who used them while in London and even had her engagement ring specially designed and it turned out perfect. We made an appointment and went to their shop and had such a wonderful, relaxed experience with no pressure. Linley was a joy and their rings are gorgeous. Everything is guaranteed conflict-free and most other places can't really say that since the Kimberly certificate is actually a loose process but Mia Donna's diamonds and gems are lab made with the same make up of mined diamonds so you know no slave labor could've possibly been part of your jewelry. I highly recommend them and we love my engagement ring and wedding bands!

  • DO NOT BUY. My now husband had purchased my engagement ring from Mia Donna just over a year ago. I loved my ring and was so excited that it was conflict free. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that my ring looked a little foggy and tried to clean it off. I realized that it was completely scratched all around the centre of the stone and on the sides. I have always been very careful with my jewellery and as I work in an office and take my rings off to cook, clean and to do any yard work, I did not know how this had happened. I reassured myself that this was a manufacturers defect that the company that stated that it was nearly as strong as a diamond (85% diamond bonds and 9.1 out of 10 hardness) would surely replace my still very new and babied ring. The customer service started out alright. My husband sent in a request explaining the issue and offering to send the pictures we had taken of the scratches. They eventually ended up asking him to send the ring in and saying that he w... Read more

Hi Kathleen, I appreciate you sharing your experience and I’m truly sorry to read about your disdain for our company. I’ve made it a priory to look up your original order from January 2014, and addressed your specific comments below: --We’re extremely transparent and clear throughout our website that the Diamond Hybrid® is not the same hardness as a grown or mined diamond. While it is incredibly hard for a simulant, rating at a 9.1 on the Mohs scale, we under no circumstances state either online or via person that it is indestructible, or as hard as a diamond. While I have no doubt you treat your jewelry with the utmost care, it’s possible that scratching will occur if the stone is accidentally rubbed up against a material of equal or greater hardness. --I’ve reviewed the emails sent to your husband to see where the breakdown in communication occurred, and I agree it could have been worded better. I have spoken with the customer service specialist who sent him the email and she has assured me that by no means did she mean to imply you are “hard” on your jewelry. She simply wanted to express the possibility of accidental damage occurring, no matter how gentle and/or cautious one can be with their jewelry. It is hard to convey tone via email, so I apologize that her email didn't come across as planned. --I take your feedback very seriously, however to privately or publicly claim we’ve “ripped you off” is upsetting, inaccurate, and quite honestly defamation. We’ve been extremely responsive, polite and honest with your husband throughout this entire process in an attempt to get your issue resolved in a mutually pleasing way. Should you decide not to send in, I understand and respect your decision to decline. I’d be more than happy to get your ring inspection organized if you do change your mind. --Andrew Puddifoot
