Heidelberg Bakery is WONDERFUL. The groom and I decided to do a Croquembouche, a French style wedding cake with cream puffs and caramel glaze, and we got just that. The price was incredibly reasonable, and it tasted divine. I've never heard so many compliments on a wedding cake, and seen so many adults stealing from each other's plates. The caterer brought one smaller cake for the cutting, and then had individual cream puffs for the guests. Due to the cream center, it was served right after the cake cutting. Perfect. The only downside is the fact that it only lasts about 2 days max.

We decided to do a tier of cupcakes for our wedding instead of a cake. What fun! We did two different flavors and four different icings with beautiful multicolored flowers on each cupcake. It came out beautifully and it was extremely affordable. We probably paid a third of what we would have paid for a cake, if that. The cupcakes were delicious to boot--far better (in my opinion) than those we would have gotten at CakeLove, which cost far more. In the beginning I was dealing with two different people and I found that a bit confusing, but once I figured out who the proper liason was, everything went smoothly. (We bought the white plastic tiered stand separately online, as Heidelberg did not sell them.)

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe was awesome. We actually didn't decide on a cake until THREE days before the wedding! It was just one of those things we didn't want to really do, but felt pressured to do for photos, etc. So, three days before the wedding my husband and his sister went in and picked out this AMAZING chocolate fudge "anniversary cake". I'm not sure how being an "anniversary cake" made it any different from another cake, but I think it was only two-tiered. The reason we didn't want to go with a traditional wedding cake was because (1) they are EXPENSIVE! (say "wedding" and everything jumps up in cost), and (2) I find with a lot of wedding cakes the icing is kind of gross and the spongy layers get dried out quickly. This cake was delicious- and stayed moist even for several days after the wedding. The reason I docked them a star on the professionalism category was because when they heard my husband and sister say they needed the cake in 3 days, they seemed a little pu... Read moret off. Possibly because it was so urgent, but my husband said it was because they thought it was a shotgun wedding! All in all though, I would highly recommend going with a non-traditional wedding cake. It saves you a lot of money, and will taste much better. This pastry shoppe in particular offers great cakes, and are obviously very flexible and accommodating with timeframes!!

Heidelberg was able to accomodate my requests on style and color of cake. They did a great job.

I had a HUGE old fashioned white tiered buttercream cake. It was delicious. If you're looking for a classic, old fashioned wedding cake look, this is your place.

Cake was cute and soooo delicious!!

This was the yummiest wedding cake we ever tasted. We are unsure as to whether or not they actually got our order exactly correct (we were supposed to have two flavors - one on the top and bottom layer and a different in the middle). No guest has been able to confirm whether or not they had the middle layer, but everyone loved it.

We discovered this bakery through a wedding vendor show and their cakes are BY FAR the yummiest. When we went to the bakery to place our order, we didn't really have a specific design in mind so we chose a cake design in the window that we liked and the baker worked with us on tweeking the design to make it personal to us. We originally ordered a 3 tier cake, but when we had it delivered at the reception, there was a 4th tier that - to this day - we have no idea if that's included in wedding cakes, or was a mistake on their part... but it was very beautiful and extremely tasty. I wish they had a better format for showing off different designs couples could choose from. Although I was happy with our cake, I would have felt better with more options. That being said, I chose Heidelberg because their cakes tasted the best, the appearance was not as important to us.
