GH and assoc. have set up and played at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort's Sandpiper Deck 100's of times. Doug was our DJ, and he is one of several DJs with this company. Therefore, I was a little surprised that they did not account for the vibrations from guests dancing on the deck in the designated area interrupting the CD play. I was even more surprised when the he responded, "well, what do you expect? It's because of the dancing" to one of my guests who jokingly commented, "Awe, man! What's with the skipping?!" The music diversity and genres we discussed over the phone were played, and he had a pleasant and professional disposition for the most part, but I was least satisfied with this aspect of my wedding. I felt he was just going through the motions and did not read the crowd as well as I expected. Everyone commented they had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, so I was not too dissatisfied.

We loved Jude, our DJ from Grant Hemond. Of the 2 or 3 that we spoke to, my husband and I just seemed to click with him. He was very accommodating when we created a specific song list of music to play during our dinner that was comprised of bands that my husband and I have seen. He helped keep the dance floor moving throughout the evening and did a great job of reading the musical style of the crowd.

Grant Hemond came highly recommended to us, and we were so happy with their service. We didn't even know what to ask for, but they asked us a ton of questions, and we got exactly what we wanted. Ask for Jeff!

I have been to several weddings with Grant Hemond DJ's and always had a blast so I knew I wouldn't have a problem booking them for mine. We requested Jude Rinaldi as he came very highly recommended! Our friends were right!! He was perfect and made the reception so much fun!

We thoroughly enjoyed our DJ experience using Grant Hemond; DJ, Doug Decker; from the initial inquiry through to the end of the wedding. When Doug arrived I introduced myself [Grooms mother] and he took over from there… He set up so quietly you didn’t even notice he was onsite; it was remarkable how Doug blended into the scene. Doug was totally prepared for our ceremony music and our reception music (2 set ups). Doug was very organized and an obvious expert in his field. Doug took charge of the reception in ways we hadn’t expected and are very thankful for his professionalism. As a parent I felt like I hadn’t a worry the entire evening. Ben Daniely is the best dj! He is sooooooooo outgoing! We're such a busy couple that we didn't have time to tell him what music we wanted and he just chose the best music based on talking to us for just 10 minutes on the phone the day before the wedding. He was also flexible because we had a lot of mini performances from friends. And the way he introduced everyone was as if he knew everyone for years...he was very personable. Grant Hemond Co. is lucky that they have Ben and I recommend him to anyone.

We had an absolute blast at our 3-29-09 wedding. Grant Hemond and Associates were outstanding from the start. Their office staff always made sure you felt like you were speaking to professionals. Jody Bower did an excellent job of picking music and emceeing the event. He is a great pleasure to work with. Our reception turned out exactly as we had planned.

Our DJ was great. He did everything I asked and played exactly what we wanted.

Not much contact prior to wedding, but after our phone call interview with our DJ we new we made the right choice. Our DJ knew how to work with our guests to create the right type of party. He followed our music choice with his own little flair. And the recording of the toasts and other parts of the night were icing on the cake.

I have to say after getting such positive reviews and high recommendations from other vendors on GH, I was very dissappointed with this vendor. It was the first vendor I booked well in advance b/c of their popularity. We had made a special request for a DJ as well as a back up request. The company would just tell our wedding coordinator they would be in touch and knew of our request. They didn't confirm the DJ until the week of the wedding only to find out both DJs had been given to other events. We could not talk to our DJ until 4 days prior to the wedding in which we were told during that phone call to put a play by play list together for him if we would like specific types of music and don't want the standard wedding songs. We told him the categories we liked and told him with 4 days notice that would not be possible. Our expectation for a DJ vendor is for them to listen to what we do and don't like and work/feed off that. We obviously gave him a do not play list but we didn... Read more't think we needed to create list of 50+ songs. We also found out in that call that he was not aware he was also doing our ceremony music and would not be able to b/c he had another event that day. He wouldn't get to our reception until 7pm (it started at 8pm; ceremony was at 6:30pm). We had 4 days to scramble for a backup (this was also a destintion wedding for all our guests and we were already entertaining numerous family members). We also got a call the day before the wedding letting us know he did not have the music for our 1st dance. Overall, the wedding music for the reception was ok. All the right music was played and the annoucment of the wedding party went well. But at the end I felt like our expectations were not met. As our last song was being played he cut it off before the song ended b/c the clock struck midnight and his time was up. If I could do it over, I would have choosen another vendor and would have done a little more research on my own rather then listen to others. UPDATE: After reading this review Grant Hemond and Associates contacted me to express their apologies regarding the experience I had with my DJ. They took the time to listen to the issues that occured the days leading up to the wedding and at the reception itself. They did clear up a few things regarding the assignment of the DJ and the booking mishap with the ceremony music and it seems as though there was a strong lack of communication with my coordinator in translating the situations ahead of time from GH to me. So with that, the blame is really with the coordinator not GH. However, Doug was very receptive to what I had to say and made no excuses for the other issues. He generously offered us back some of the funds we put towards GH's services and offered us future discounts on any needs we would have.
