  • Goldworks provides high-quality, locally made jewelry at very competitive prices (compared to large retailers). They are flexible in the customization of jewelry (our engagement ring was engraved for free) and offer free cleanings. The jewelry at this store is generally unique since it is made by local artisans.

  • My husband first went to Goldworks in search of an engagement ring and found the most beatiful, unique ring I could ever imagine. We then went in to see about getting matching wedding bands and were blown away by how helpful and talented the artists are. They were able to design and create 2 amazing rings that perfectly complemented the engagement ring.

  • We enjoyed working with Charlotte at Goldworks. She helped us through several visits until we figured out exactly the rings we wanted. We picked a unique design and received our rings in a timely fashion. We didn't expect to have to reoxidize the them so frequently, but they are truly beautiful when they come out of the solution. For unique rings that will stand out from the crowd, I highly recommend Goldworks.

  • We went there for our engagement rings and Wren, the owner, worked with us to find the right shade and size of diamond since we were looking for a champagne colored diamond. She is very artsy and pleasant to work with but she spends most of here time at their alternate location in Asheville, NC which is a four hour drive for us. So we had to work out a schedule to see her at the Chapel Hill location, but it worked out and I would do it all over again. I love my ring for how it symbolizes our (my future husband-to-be) collaborative effort .

  • We loved our experience with Goldworks from start to finish. Originally I found them online and after a quick consult, we designed a gorgeous custom engagment ring together. She loved it. So when it was time to do the bands, we came back, and again were thrilled with the results. It turned about to be a great value and we highly recommend them to anyone in the Triangle area!

  • My husband bought my engagement ring at Goldworks and said it was the only store where he really felt comfortable and was able to get just the design he wanted. I now have a unique engagement ring and I love that it doesn't look like everyone else's. When it came time to buy my wedding band. They showed me a design that would fit my rings unique shape and were flexible about how much bling to include so I could get the ring I wanted and stay within my budget. They clean the rings for free on a regular basis and before the wedding so the rings will be nice and bright for all the photos.

  • Goldworks was an absolute dream to work with. I had wanted a fairly unique diamond engagement ring and my husband found a beautiful Hearts on Fire ring at Goldworks. Charlotte worked with him to pick out stones and make it affordable! We went back to Goldworks for our wedding bands and again their rings were beautiful and they were so helpful as we made our decisions. We ended up having them make a custom wedding band for my husband, which turned out beautifully and was exactly what we wanted. Throughout the process, Goldworks was patient and professional. Importantly, they did not pressure us to look at or buy things that we weren't interested in or couldn't afford, which we ran into at other jewelry stores. Rather, we felt like they respected our taste and preferences and helped us turn our ideas into reality.

  • I really wanted to write a review of Ken Weston: he is the mad genius of wedding rings, but I could only find the name of the store where his designs are sold. Still, the staff at Goldworks were very helpful in our search for the perfect wedding rings. We found unique and perfect platinum, hand-engraved bands and walked out the store the same day. • I had no idea what I wanted regarding the engagement ring. I went back and forth about styles, diamonds, other gemstones and costs. My poor fiance must have been so confused with my lack of choice. I just didn't care to have an engagement ring, but I tried to keep an open mind. My best friend had her engagement ring and wedding band made at Goldworks and recommended them. I emailed them, saying that I don't wear alot of jewelry, maybe looking at other gemstones, and that the Hearts of Fire's rings and Ken Weston's rings caught my eye. They made arrangements to get a sample of Hearts on Fire rings, Ken Weston rings, and even to meet with Ken Weston if I wanted something customized. We took a road trip to North Carolina. The rings I thought I liked through internet pictures, didn't seem to be what I wanted on my hand. One of the rings that I didn't ask to see (another one of Ken's) caught my eye. I previously saw it on the website, but didn't think I would like it. I was wrong. Turns out... Read more

  • We had both of our wedding bands done here. Wren hand crafted a custom wedding band for her and helped him pick out a simple and fitting tungsten band. We love them.

  • We purchased engagement and wedding rings from Goldworks and worked with several of the artisans and salespeople over the last year. For a locally owned store, the pricing is reasonable, especially considering the quality of the handcrafted jewelry and the customer service. The staff were incredibly patient and informative about stones, metals, and craftmanship that goes into the jewelry they make and sell. For a major purchase like this, we never felt pushed into purchasing anything that wasn't our style or within our budget. My only misgiving was the lack of attention to detail over visible differences between a ring we ordered versus the one we received (it had to go back twice)...but to their credit, issues over any details we raised were quickly addressed by the staff (thanks Charlynn!). I can't imagine my experience would be any better through a big box jeweler or an online retailer. I highly recommend Goldworks - we love our rings and wouldn't have done it any other way.

  • The shopping experience was positive- but there were some issues after we ordered our rings. The ring my husband chose wasn't available and my husband had to go back to the store to choose another one. Initially, we had been happy with the selection and the prices- but having to order another, more expensive ring was a time-consuming hassle close to our wedding date. Honestly I wouldn't mind so much if they had been willing to sell the alternate ring for the same cost- but they only offered a discount. Bottom line- they are locally owned and the staff are great- I have no idea whether our little mix-up was a fluke. I would choose them again over any major chain.
