  • We booked the gorgeous wood church for our wedding ceremony on a Saturday morning. To ensure we had the area all to ourselves, they do not book any of the other buildings during our time - that's really special because they are basically agreeing to forgo possible income to make you the focus! They were also open to us changing our minds between the gazebo, to the church, to back and forth between inside and out because nothing else was booked. The event team was wonderful and very responsive to my multiple requests to come out to measure, walk my coordinator through the ceremony, walk my photographer through the site, and random other visits needed to plan out the perfect wedding. On the day of the event, the event staff were there in the shadows ready to help if need be but thankfully it all went off without a hitch so they weren't needed. Overall the location was beautiful and the staff made it all a pleasant experience both leading up to the special day and on the we... Read more

  • Two words: Natosha Dickerson (soon to be a bride herself, so I’m not sure of her married name). She was my wedding coordinator responsible for our flawless wedding that we held at the Guy Lodge Hall in the South Yard at George Ranch Historical Park. This woman is an extremely talented and sharp professional. From the beginning, from the first phone call, she was warm and extremely helpful all the way until the end. She is always cheerful and on top of everything, she never forgets anything, nothing makes it past her without her knowledge. She makes the George Ranch Historical Park look incredibly amazing. It was an honor to work with her and have our wedding held in this little slice of history. It was basically the wedding of my dreams. It has been two weeks since our wedding day, and we are still basking in the glow of the fond memories we made there. The entire time we were working together with Natosha, I was thinking, “How can two plain civilians plan a large scale event? Som... Read more

  • We held our wedding ceremony in the Beasley Chapel and loved the venue. It’s simple yet beautiful and turned out exactly as we’d hoped. We had around 50 guests, and the chapel was the perfect setting to not feel overwhelmed by the building size. It certainly would easily accommodate larger numbers though. Natosha and the other staff were a pleasure to work with and helped everything run smoothly. Overall, this is a budget-friendly wedding venue with a beautiful backdrop and friendly, helpful staff. I’d highly recommend it.

  • Fran, the whole team and George Ranch as a venue were absolutely amazing. Fran was very accommodating, responsive, helpful and so friendly. The rest of the team was always willing to jump in and help in all aspects of the planning process, the rehearsal dinner and the actual day of. The venue was simply beautiful, amazing, affordable and perfect. Anything a couple would want in a team and venue, George Ranch has. A lot of venues offer "cookie cutter" weddings, but George Ranch allows you to have your own wedding in your own way, which we loved. Thank you so much for all you did for us...we couldn't have asked for anything better!

  • Very happy I decided to have the wedding and reception there. It poured the whole day of the wedding(we planned on having an outside ceremony) and they did a fantastic job relocating in a timely manner. Great experience! They were all very kind and offered to help with anything and everything.

  • My sister was just married in the Chapel at George Ranch. Her reception was in the Lodge Hall and it was BEAUTIFUL. Fran worked with us throughout the entire process and we couldn't have done it without her. This venue is beautiful indoors and outdoors. It went perfectly for my sister's rustic, country "get together." Fran was there during the whole event and even opened the doors for our guests! She is wonderful and George Ranch is drop dead gorgeous.

  • Our wedding at the George Ranch was absolutely beautiful, rustic, Texan-feeling, and everything that my husband and I wanted it to be. Fancesca was our planner and she was extremely responsive, flexible, and pretty much did whatever she could to make everything exactly the way that we wanted. If you want a real, Texan wedding, I highly recommend the George Ranch. All of our guests were raving about beautiful and personal it was.

  • George Ranch was an absolutely gorgeous venue and Ashley was wonderful and very helpful! Great location for a small wedding! My only complaint is 4 hours is not enough time and the wedding felt SUPER rushed. But we loved the location and everything turned out wonderful!

  • Great people to work with. They are a little laid back but it all gets done and the ranch is beautiful even on a wet rainy day. Highly recommend this venue for a rustic Texas style wedding.

  • I chose GR for the unique tree house. That part was great! Everyone had a good time, but the behind the scenes before the wedding with the coordinator was not so pleasant. We were told one thing and then when it came down to it, we were told that we had to pay for things that we were told would be thrown in. We wanted to use our own cater and would pay to do so, but were told NO several times and then finally less than a month before the wedding they stated we could for a fee. It should never have been this difficult. Natosha was just not very friendly or accommodating. Ashley however was very helpful with taking us around for my photo shoot, but I do not think Natosha is a people person and did the bear minimum, which was very disappointing. She just seemed put out, several people that was helping with my wedding felt that way and they did not even know the back story. I also feel, for what you get from GR it is over priced, but I am still glad I was able to have a beautiful wed... Read more

  • The Good: George Ranch Historical Park is a unique, cute, rustic venue here in Richmond, TX. They are known for their historical tours and reenactments, but they also have a private events section (with plenty of parking!) where they host weddings. They have a beautiful small, antique white wooden chapel, gazebo, and dance hall/reception area. They also have an area for the bride to get ready. Natosha is the coordinator for the venue. She is amazing. She is very responsive, professional, kind, respectful, and accommodating. I made many trips to the venue throughout the course of my wedding planning and she was always happy to have myself/my family over. She was very responsive in answering phone calls/emails. I never had a question go unanswered. George Ranch requires you to use their vendors (outside of cake/florals). Shultze's BBQ did the BBQ catering - the food was great. We were also able to set up the venue a full day before the wedding. The Bad: They also force you to use... Read more

  • George Ranch is a wonderful venue, it is really country and simple. Everything is included with this venue except the officiant, flowers, photographer and decorations. The only bad think I would say is you only get the venue for 4 hours which I felt like wasn't enough time I felt rushed to leave the place. Other than that the venue and feel of the place was amazing!

  • I haven't gotten married yet, but have been working with my event planner, Andrea, and she has been VERY responsive, and helpful with making sure that we get what we want. They are reasonable in pricing, and willing to work with you. They have packages set up, but also allow you to create your own, which is nice for couples that have smaller budgets. The scenery is to die for! The moment I stepped foot onto George Ranch Historical Park, I knew that it was where I wanted to get married. I am looking forward to our wedding day, and can't wait to finish planning!

  • I am the MOB, who researched and recommended the venue to my daughter. Since I feel responsible for the choice, I feel like I have some valuable input. We loved the historic sight, the grounds, the dance hall, the historic home which the staff provided tours for our guests at no additional charge. We really appreciated that, although I don't know how many of our guests were able to take advantage of it. The catering was good, but getting the menu we wanted was challenging. We asked for a tasting, none was scheduled. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were too spicy, and there was no other starch option. Since they require that you use their catering, insist on a tasting. But overall, the food was fresh and tasty, and within our budget. Beyond that, our frustrations were with staff. We worked with Kristi who is very sweet, but she needs to just say no! She told us some key details could be worked out, when they definitely could not. She should have said so, it would have saved us ... Read more
