  • Oh my gosh, where to start. Jody is THE best! She is so organized and always keeps on top of things for you. There were check in email to make sure we were on the same page, which made me feel comfortable through out the planning process. Chef Ann is awesome as well! My guests all said the food was phenomenal!! And the venue is just beautiful, outdoor and indoor are perfect places to have your special day. Cannot recommend enough!

  • Food for Thought was our caterer for our wedding at The Adler Planetarium. I can't say enough good things about them! The food was fantastic, the staff was so attentive and Elyssa was a dream to work with!

We are still getting compliments from guests about the food at the wedding! Prices were also reasonable and were either lower, or about the same as other companies we were looking at. We worked with Lorena for our wedding at the South Shore Cultural Center this August. From the first point of contact with Lorena, she was extremely responsive and helpful. We had a certain meal style in mind, and we were having no luck being able to execute with other catering companies. Lorena worked closely, and patiently, with us to design our menu and it ended up working out exactly like what wanted!   • My husband and I got married in July of 2017 at 19 East and used Food for Thought, their exclusive Caterer. Kendall was our event coordinator and we could not possibly have had a more perfect wedding day from start to finish. Kendall was so amazing throughout the entire process - she was so genuine, thoughtful and kind, so willing to assist with anything we may need, and went above and beyond in giving advice that Brides need to hear leading up to their wedding day. The tasting we had with her was so memorable - she made it so fun and both of our parents had such a great time. Not only was Kendall a 5 star event coordinator, but 19 East is an AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL venue! The food was out of this world as well. It was so hot and fresh, our friends are still raving about the food to this day (and most of our friends are Chicago "foodies"). I have had many relatives and friends recently engaged inquire about this Caterer and venue - and I could not be more pleased to recommend!

  • FFT did the catering for our wedding, which included about 175 people. Everything from start to finish was outstanding. Annie Schey was very responsive to all of our (very many) questions and emails, the food was amazing (and all allergies and dietary needs easily met), and the staff was outstanding. We could not recommend them more highly.

  • In early March, Wolfgang Puck decided to abandon its wedding clients, disregarding our contract for my daughter’s wedding on July 8 and pulling out of Chicago. They blindsighted us. However, shortly after their disappointing announcement, I received an email from John Rudy, the vice president of catering for Food for Thought, offering his company’s assistance in picking up where WP left off. I’m very grateful for that email. Food for Thought turned out to be better than expected (and I’m sure better than WP would have been). From our first encounter with John to the tasting and organizational work of Annie Schey, our sales consultant, to the night of the reception, the folks and food from Food for Thought were wonderful.   • We had a Great experience with Food for Thought while planning for our winter wedding. We worked with Dana and she was patient, kind and helped us brainstorm tasty ideas for our budget. We really appreciated Dana's support throughout the whole wedding planning process, and we highly recommend working with her and FFT.

  • Dana guided us through our entire wedding process. She was so efficient and made us feel completely confident in FFT. Nathan was onsite on the day of our wedding and was just as responsive, organized and so pleasant! The food was delicious and the staff excellent. All our guests raved about the caterer. We will definitely use them for other parties and even work functions. Many thanks to FFT for making our special day extra special!

  • While our reception was far from perfect - our DJ arrived late and was so drunk he could not set up his equipment, plays songs, or even walk straight - however, Jesseca handled everything to the point that she was mistaken for the venue’s event coordinator. Not only did she help my friend/event coordinator correct the seating chart, tablescapes that were placed haphazardly, alert us when hard alcohol was running low, she also acted as our DJ due to the one hired being unable to do anything! She quite literally saved the day! On top of that, the food was beyond delicious, our guests could not stop gushing and my brother helped himself to a second serving as there was a no-show at his table. The chef came out and greeted me after the meal and the waitstaff was very friendly.

  • We had a great experience with Food for Thought. We worked very closely with Lorena. From the moment we walked into our tasting, we felt special. They created a special drink when we walked in and had a little tv graphic with our venue image and our names. Lorena put on a playlist that had some of our favorite music playing. The food was OUTSTANDING and the cost was also reasonable. Erika was on site the day of our wedding. She helped us more, in come cases, then our venue coordinator did. We decided on a plated dinner, which was brought to the tables in a very professional manner. It's hard to eat on your wedding day, but the food was so incredible and vey large portions. All of our guests were impressed. The only thing I would note, and this is subjective, was how long service took. Granted, typically, I'm not the fist person eating, so my idea of the time it takes to serve 85 to 90 people could be skewed. It just seemed to take more time to serve dinner than I expected. We strive to make everything amazing, from the food to all the little details. Your moment is the most important part of the process and we will do what it takes to make it perfect! We do however apologize for what seemed like a delay in service. Our staff is very well trained and can often times make it look easy but yes, feeding 90 people at once can take a few minutes - especially when you are hungry and served first! We do always recommend staying in contact with your Sales Consultant even after the big day, in order to discuss any issues or highlights you had.   • Food for Thought was the contracted caterer and bartender for our venue (the school of the art institute) and while we didn't have a choice in using them, I'm glad we worked together - they were fantastic! We worked with Kendall, though I've heard wonderful things about a lot of the coordinators from Food for Thought, and she was fantastic - so easy to work with, flexible, organized, and patient when I changed my mind 5000 times during the course of planning. The food: The food was delicious, and they were very accommodating about dietary restrictions, food preferences, and working with all our guests, including those with severe allergies such as celiac. I really got the sense that all of their staff was well educated on food allergies and really openminded.   • We had our wedding at Adler who is partnered exclusively with Food for Thought and we were thrilled with the service, quality, and taste! Anna was our fabulous coordinator and she was top notch with responsiveness, service, and professionalism. She helped with so many aspects of the planning and was very attentive to our needs.   • Food for Thought catered our wedding on May 7, 2016 in Chicago at the Humboldt Park Field House. They were amazing and we absolutely loved working with them. I would HIGHLY recommend this caterer! We worked with Lorena, who was absolutely fantastic. Before choosing Food for Thought, we had contacted a couple of other vendors. Some were out of our budget, and some were not responsive at all. One caterer seemed annoyed every time we asked a question. But not Food for Thought! We got quick, clear answers for every question we raised, and we knew that our wedding would be handled professionally and reliably. The food and beverages were also great! Many of the guests commented that they greatly enjoyed the dinner! Also, we are vegetarians (and so are many of our guests) , and Food for Thought was able to offer a vegetarian entree as well as a chicken entree. The beverages were also solid.   • Food for Thought was absolutely amazing. Lorena and her staff were so responsive and helpful during the whole process. They were so fantastic with us and working with our budget. The food was absolutely amazing and yummy!! The bartenders were responsive and respectful and rad! Every one of our guests asked us who the catering was and repeatedly got second and third helpings of food! Thank you so much!!
