  • The busses for my wedding were one of my biggest concerns. Almost every company had mixed reviews, and how was I to be sure my guests would arrive on time from 3 separate hotels?! I was nervous. However, First Student really came through. First of all, the busses were clean, comfortable and air conditioned. My black tie guests were totally fine in them. They showed up on time and got everyone where they needed to go. I highly recommend double checking all your itinerary information a few days before, because there was a mistake in there, but it was easily corrected and on the day of there were no problems. I also had friends serve as bus captains at each hotel to make sure everyone who needed to be there was there. At the end of the day, First Student got the job done and provided a clean, safe trip for my guests. Highly recommend!

  • Absolutely terrible service. The bus never showed up for the event. When we tried to call them, none of the numbers we were given would pick up the phone as it was a weekend. The event was on the weekend and we had no way to contact them! We had 20+ kids and no way to take them to the venue and back! To add to the issue, the company does not care. No one called us back and when I called to ask for refund, I was told we will put a service request to investigate. The chicago location where this was outsourced to has not bothered to call or does not even bother to call back and apologize. Hire at your own risk and have a back up plan!

  • We had several unacceptable issues for our Friday wedding. We had two different hotels booked, both with separate issues. Hilton: Driver had no idea where they were going. Guests had to provide directions both ways. Driver demanded tips from guests. Fairfield: -Extremely late to the hotel, causing guests to be late and the ceremony to start late. -We were told we would get a school bus, we received a much smaller shuttle instead. -Late to pickup at the venue. General Issues: The bride and groom were left by the busses and had to order an uber home in an area with very little cellular service. -The driver claimed they spoke with the groom and confirmed they had other transportation. This did not occur. -Our contract stated they would remain on site for the duration, this did not occur.

  • DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I hired First Student Charter to transport my guests from the hotel to the ceremony and then back to the hotel at the end of the reception. THEY NEVER PICKED UP MY GUESTS AT THE HOTEL!!!! Imagine minutes before your wedding you notice everyone scrambling. Finally they come to you and say that the bus never came and everyone is stuck at the hotel. It delayed my entire ceremony and took away time from my reception. Mind you, they called me Tuesday and asked if the wedding was happening and finalized the plans. THEN CHARGED ON TUESDAY BEFORE THE WEDDING!!!! The driver who showed up AFTER the ceremony claimed he was never told about the trip until it was too late. They never contacted me to explain or apologize although I called them multiple times and left multiple messages.

  • We used 3 buses from First Student charter to shuttle our guests home from the venue at the end of the night and were pleased with the service. First Student was organized and communicative in advance of the event, showed up early enough to be ready for loading promptly, had extremely clean buses, and the drivers were all very friendly. The drivers had no issue with guests continuing to sing loudly and have a great time during the drive, which was great to keep the energy up!

  • First Student was such a great choice of shuttle between our hotel and wedding reception venue. The driver arrived and departed on time and communicated with me on the day of. She even came back to the reception venue for an unscheduled last pickup when we called her, and then called me after searching the bus when she found something that had been left so I could come down to the lobby to pick it up from her. The price was far better than other companies we looked at and the service was great, and so nice for people not to have to worry about driving or paying for a ride!

  • We used them for transportation only a few miles away from the hotel room block. Very responsive, on time & clean. Willing to accommodate drop-off location that changed at the end of the night.

  • Extremely happy with the service that they provided. We were able to add an extra run at the end of the night for no extra charge and had a few other changes that were accommodated prior to the wedding date. One thing to make sure when you're booking your trip is to be as specific as possible as to what you want so they charge you accordingly!

  • We hired First Student Charter Bus to shuttle our wedding guests from the hotel to our venue for an October wedding. We were committed to providing safe transportation to our guests and this was the most affordable transportation option. The bus driver was timely, professional, and very nice. When we thought we left an item on the bus the following day, we called the main number and they were able to reach the bus driver and discuss our concern. They were really helpful and we are happy with our choice!

  • Unfortunately, we were really disappointed by the services provided by First Student. We spent a lot of time figuring out how to best shuttle our guests from the hotel to our wedding venue and back at the best price. We had enough guests to require 2 trips each way comfortably/safely. We clearly confirmed with the bus company/put in our contract that 2 trips will be made within a certain time frame.... by the end of the night we found out that they made the 1st trip for only 2 PEOPLE on an entire school bus. This led to me (bride) and my close family to having to rush onto the 2nd bus because everyone was waiting on us and it was a crammed ride. I didnt get a moment to thank our vendors and collect my personal things as I wanted. I think this was very CHEAP and UNPROFESSIONAL of the company/driver, and we were taken off guard. So, it was kind of a shame and a waste of money.

  • Webbing planning during covid has not been easy but this worked out great. Only complaint was they were late and was hard to get in contact with the driver. But once we got them every thing else went well.

  • I was going to use First United Charter for my wedding. They called about three weeks prior to confirm that the wedding was still happening due to COVID and I said yes and that was all I heard from them. I called two weeks prior to change some details and they told me only 10 people could ride the school bus due to COVID restrictions. This was extremely frustrating because no one had contacted me. If I had not contacted them prior for changing something I wouldn't have even known until the day of the wedding when my guests wouldn't have transportation. This was disappointing and unprofessional. We cancelled and ended up going with another company.

  • First Student was helpful throughout the entire process of booking our wedding transportation. They were thorough during our discussions when my husband and I made a few changes to extend our reservation. Our guests were promptly transported at the multiple assigned times we chose, and the buses were clean.
