  • The Band was fantastic!! They did a great job of keeping the energy great at our New Year Eve Wedding. Even did a countdown and fireworks. So much fun, everyone has been complimenting good they were. Would Highly recommend, also very easy to deal with before during and after.

  • They absolutely rocked it and kept the dance floor packed all night! Mike was so helpful throughout the process and worked with me to make sure my specific requests were taken care of. They covered all genres to engage all of the different generations. Our guests raved about the band all night and are still talking about them weeks later! We had so much fun and Free Spirit kept the party going into the early hours of the morning!

  • Round Midnight was fantastic not just because they rocked the wedding but also to work with. They knocked our first song out of the park and we loved the interactions our guests had with the band. This was the second wedding one of our families used Round Midnight for and we will be recommending them to all future couples going forward.

  • We hired DC Synergy for my son's wedding and they were truly the best wedding band we could have ever imagined! From the minute the band started, the dance floor was packed and stayed packed the whole time the band was playing. Everyone had a great time and the singers and other band members were the most talented you will ever find! Pat Richett and Chris from the band were super accommodating and arranged (2) conference calls before the wedding to make sure everything was just perfect!

  • If you are looking to hire one of the most talented bands out there, look no further. ROUND MIDNIGHT is not only one of the best bands out there, they are also the kindest, most flexible and warm people to work with. Due to COVID, we had to change dates and venues and Mike, the band leader, was so accommodating and helpful throughout this entire process. Words cannot express how thankful we are to ROUND MIDNIGHT -- they went above and beyond to make our wedding so great and brought so much energy, our friends and family kept coming up to us throughout the night saying that " this was the best band they had ever seen." We are so happy to have worked with ROUND MIDNIGHT and we would hire them in a heartbeat again.

  • We had such an incredible wedding reception and a big thanks goes to Cameron and The DC Transit Band. They kept people moving and excited and also made sure the dinner time music was classy and fun! We LOVED their energy and feel they are a great choice for a fun, full, live, big band sound!

  • We had Nightsong play at our wedding and they were the BEST! They understood the vibe we were going for after our initial conversation which made working with Bennett and the team especially easy. The band was also wonderful at reading the audience - they knew exactly what to play and when to play it based on how people were reacting to what was currently being played. The dance floor was packed all night long and many people who weren't even at our wedding have commented on their hearing that the band was spectacular. I would recommend Nightsong to everyone and anyone!!!

  • If you are looking not only for one of the most talented bands out there, but one of the friendliest most flexible, I could not recommend Round Midnight more. Due to COVID-19 we had changed our plans many times and RM made themselves available with every change with a smile and professionalism. Even with the small guest count, they still had everyone dancing the entire night!

  • Peter, one of the main executives, was very informative and educated us on the DJ process and what type of DJ services we should expect and look for. He helped us make an educated decision to use his company. We look forward to our special day.

  • When I was looking for a band the first thing I did was go to the Washingtonian wedding magazine. I went and hunted and looked at all the top bands in the Washingtonina area. I was not impressed with anyone until I met Nightsong at Congressional Country Club. The moment we saw them perform I knew I had to have them at my wedding. I got married on February 29th 2020 at the St. Regis Hotel in DC. I have no words for to describe how incredibly my wedding was because of NightSong. When I actually think about it the word I would use is magical. NightSong went above and beyond and did an amazing job at our wedding. Every single person was dancing on the dance floor, 100% of the wedding, no joke! Even my dad who DOES not dance ever. My mom has always been a fan of DJ's and this band changed her mind. Every single song they sang sounded like the original song it was incredible. My favorite part of the whole night was when everyone was singing to "Shout" the final song of the night. Every... • Nightsong played a family member's wedding as well. They rocked then and we were happy they did the same for our wedding. Nightsong was also a hit with our guests. They played high energy songs and kept the crowd dancing all night long (took a while for guests to leave the venue!). The band was flexible and learned a few songs just for us. Pre-wedding coordination was good (although there were a few surprise last minute questions).

  • We had Round Midnight as our band for our NYE wedding and could not be happier!! From the moment we initially reached out, the service was amazing, listening to what we wanted, didn't want and building our event around our taste. We love how personalized our first dance, father/daughter and mother/son dances were and will always have these awesome memories! Round Midnight kept our entire group of friends and family out on the floor the entire night, my only complaint is how quickly the night seemed to go because we were all having the best time! 10 out of 10, we could not recommend them enough!

  • We hired Free Spirit to perform at our wedding, and in so doing, entrusted them with the vibe at our reception. We could not have been happier with that decision! They set a festive mood with lively music and ignited the reception hall with passion. Every time my husband and I looked around, the dance floor was packed with guests soaking up the tunes and having the time of their lives. Many of our friends have said it was the best wedding they’d ever attended - a few even called it the best night of their lives. And Free Spirit had a lot to do with that. From the start, Mike (the leader) was easy to reach and prompt to respond. As the wedding date drew nearer, he worked with us to set the agenda and ensure that the order of events would be exactly as we had envisioned. He was very detail-oriented in his approach, and his preparation was reflected in a wonderful evening. We recommend Free Spirit to anybody who wants a sensational wedding reception.”

  • Nightsong was fantastic band at our District Winery wedding on 11/16/2019! Bennett was great to work with ahead of the wedding as we finalized the details and timeline for the day of. Once Nightsong started playing at the reception we never saw the dance floor empty out. They kept everyone entertained the whole night on the dance floor! A month after our wedding and guests have still been complimenting Nightsong for the show they put on. Everyone had a good time and danced away thanks to Nightsong!

  • Our wedding was cancelled due to COVID. All venues in our area are not operating. The wedding is not being postponed and will be a small family gathering. They expect us to commit to a party a year from now so as to not lose our deposit as they will not refund it. All other vendors are refunding our deposits due to COVID. We offered to let them keep $750 of the $3750 deposit for their time. They are not accepting that option and are refunding nothing.

    responded with the following comments.

Hi Jill. I’m very sorry that you made the decision to cancel the band you hired from us for your wedding. I know that these are tough times for all of us. However, I was surprised to see your negative review. Your earlier emails to us and your review above prompted me to prepare a thoughtful response. I hope that anyone who reads this will consider the rationale below and see that our decision was fair, balanced and reasonable to all. First, you mention that your wedding was cancelled due to COVID. But actually, you informed us that you are still having your wedding. After your original venue pulled out you notified us that you were exploring other places to have your wedding instead. Eventually, you settled on moving the event out of state to the hotel where you’re having your honeymoon (Carmel, CA). Had you moved your wedding to a venue that was local we would certainly be happy to send the band you hired to perform for you as scheduled. Also, you didn’t notify us until early July of your decision so that left us with no time at all to rebook your date for another client who may have either had their party or had been willing to reschedule to a future date. Second, you mention that all other vendors are refunding deposits to you. That may be true, but you have to understand the nature of a band versus other types of vendors. When you hire a band, they are committing to perform together as a team on your specific date. There are only 52 weekends a year so when your date was cancelled, that took money out of the band’s pocket that can never be earned again. Alternatively, consider a florist who can simply book multiple events on another weekend in the future to make up the income. Similarly, a caterer can book more events as well. A wedding planner can send an assistant to a second wedding, etc. A band CAN’T do this – they can only do one event at a time. So, it’s a permanent loss to the band because you didn’t reschedule. Therefore, your actions damaged the band financially and we have to compensate them for the loss. Third, there is the matter of the contract that you signed. Our contract specifically says that if you cancel for any reason you forfeit the retainer paid AND you are liable for the full amount of contract. Further, our contract specifies that you are responsible for providing a safe and available space for the band to perform which you could have done on another date or at another venue. However, we understand that COVID has made wedding decisions more difficult. So rather than hold people to their contracts specifically, we now offer a myriad of options for our clients that allows them to safely move their dates without incurring any additional fees. You chose not to move the date. Contractually, we are then entitled to collect the full amount of the booking but compromised and settled only for forfeiture of the retainer paid. Finally, in your last email to us you demanded a refund of your deposit since this is a “Force Majeure” event. Of note, our contract does not have a Force Majeure clause that would accommodate cancelling your event. It does protect you if the band is unable to perform. But, as stated above, the band is available and able to perform for you on your wedding date. In fact, the band you hired (‘Round Midnight) performed for a July 4th wedding that had been moved to another location because of COVID and you’ll see their 5-Star review posted here. Even if you interpret COVID as Force Majeure, this does not mean legally that your contract can be cancelled and refunds given. What this means is that whoever is affected (couples and vendors in this case) have to resume their obligations once the adverse event (COVID) no longer prevents them from doing so. In plain language, what this means is that couples have to hold their weddings (albeit on another date) and vendors have to perform their services (again, on another date). You opted to cancel instead of rescheduling thereby taking this option off the table for us. Regardless of all of the above, we still want to work with you and have you leave as a happy, satisfied customer. So at some point, I hope to hear from you again letting us know that you’ve decided to have a party where your band can perform for you. We have your retainer on account and will be happy to work with you to find a mutually agreeable time and place for the band to perform – perhaps at your “Happy Anniversary” party.
