  • I've just cancelled my wedding due to the incompetence of this supposed "award winning, expert group". Repeat- WE CANCELLED OUR WEDDING. RUN, do it yourself, book directly. This has been a nightmare from start to finish. You will be rushed to sign a contract and then radio silence. You will be moved on to "supervisors" who provide the same feedback that wasn't acceptable in the first place. They will be rude to your guests, not helpful, and disappear to "training's" constantly and then not take responsibility for their actions. Email your guests about another wedding, not listen to a word you say, probably thinking about the next contract and not actually caring about your day at all.   • I paid upfront and in full to attend a wedding which had to be postponed due to Covid-19 Sadly, I can no longer attend new date. Destination Weddings REFUSED to REFUND my money on account of 'no insurance," It was not my fault wedding date chaged. All other travel venders, venues and airlines have refunded during this unexpected and unprecedented crisis Shame on you.

  • I am still waiting on a refund after 3 1/2 months. I understand there is a pandemic but 3 1/2 months is rather long to make someone wait without any type of correspondence. I wanted to re-book but this experience has left a terrible taste in my mouth.

  • This was the worst experience for one of the most important days of my life. We are planning on getting married in November and my advice is to just work with the resort directly. The wedding specialist I had was Kelly Marchand and she was horrible! I had multiple guests tell me before everything with COVID that they called her and never received a call back. There wasn’t really much guidance on a resort to select to begin with. We almost went with a different resort that we found out had horrible reviews and our wedding specialist said nothing. I would always have to send follow up emails to see what was going on. Complete silence during COVID. I thought at first the company might be waiting to see what’s going on when COVID started rising in the US, but I never received an email.   • I found Cathy Byrnes through a google search of destination wedding planners for our wedding in Mexico. Cathy was very helpful and followed through from start to finish with my endless questions and help with my guests. She got the ball rolling a few times when I was trying to reach the wedding team at the resort and not receiving any responses. Thanks for your hard work Cathy, we had an amazing wedding/vacation thanks to your help!

  • I originally was having a great experience with this company, dealing with Mary Ann Santana. When I would email her, she would respond in a timely manner. Then, my last email was sent to her on 6/6/2019 and I have yet to hear from her. I asked questions in detail about 3 different venues she sent me, trying to get a ballpark amount of the money to be spent. I originally said I didn’t want a phone conversation because I recently had a baby but offered that option in the email that was sent. There wasn’t any follow up email or anything so I chose to have my wedding here where I am from in the states. I’m sure this is an awesome company based off of other reviews, but I am choosing to not recommend this company to anyone based off of my personal experience.

  • I would like to start off by saying it was really stress for us to plan a wedding, let alone a destination wedding. we started to get nervous because we did not know what to expect and we are on a budget (very little budget) and we didn't want to wait years before we tied the knot. destination weddings helped us with a number of vendors no matter how many times we changed our minds and were unsure they never rushed us or pressured us. they work with us and for us V.S chasing money. I really appreciate everything they did to help us make a decision and make our plans as simple as possible.

  • My wedding is not until December 2020. I had initially looked up venues through Destinationweddings.com in my early research phases. I had spoken to the hotel directly as well in conjunction to decide the best course of action before making any final decisions. Once I had determined which hotel I wanted to book my wedding at, I let the wedding specialist know and asked what the next steps would be. He helped facilitate the deposit required to secure the date which was nice. However, I realized that I also could have easily done that myself. He then quickly jumped to negotiate a room block for me. Upon receiving the contract from him I saw the terms and quickly decided that it was not for me. Guest affordability is my utmost concern. After calculating the proposed rates from Destinationweddings.com and comparing with the hotel's direct rates, it is significantly cheaper for guests to book their flights+hotels through the hotel directly - and this is before any negotiated group disco...   • We placed several inquiries to different wedding traveling coordinators about having a destination wedding. As a gay male couple we experienced some unexpected pushback from vendors that did not want to work with a gay couple. We were very nervous and unsure what to do until we heard from Destination Weddings. Not only did we receive such a wonderful Welcome email but we were matched up with an amazing Wedding Specialist. Susan Pine made us feel so welcomed and helped us find the beautiful resort called Generations in Riviera Maya. Using Destination Weddings and working with Susan was the best decision and experience. Every moment working with her was fantastic. We got an amazing package that covered 6 events during 6 days. Our wedding was spectacular and our family and friends have the best memories because Destination Wedding welcomed, listened, and helped us find an amazing place. Love them.

  • Melinda Shelley was SO sweet and responsive to all my emails. I sent her so many and she answered all my questions with knowledgeable advice and tips. I wasn’t able to complete a destination wedding but I highly recommend her for anyone who is considering one. The price is insanely cheap and you get amazing resorts.

  • Unfortunately I had a complete negative experience with Destination Wedding. While attempting to book through them for a friends up and coming wedding I had questions through the process. The booking agent Barbara had no customer service in her responses. She rattle off generic answers that were not direct answers to my questions. This lead to countless emails to get an actual answer to my questions. I believe DW.com holds there agents accountable for response times, versus quality responses. She responded fast, but with little to no information for what I actually requested. In the end I had to reach out to customer service to get the answers I needed. At the end of it all a simple request turned into the biggest headache. Between Barbara Hylton (sales agent) and Skylar Caligaris (customer service rep) I had about 30 emails of correspondence! This made me feel like I had to work just to get the answers I needed. As a paying customer and guest of a wedding this was a COMPLETE turn off.... Read more

  • I am not someone who travels a lot so having DW reccomend places to me and listen to my vision is amazing. I am working with Mary-Ann and so far everything is going well. She is real down to earth and lets you know everything up front. I haven't locked in yet on a location but she has already put Jamaica and Mexico on my radar. I am sooo excited and much relieved. Looking for destinations on my own with absolutely no knowledge of the places was very stressful. If you are like me and dont already know where you want your DW, book a planner/coordinator from DW.com asap!!
