  • I would absolutely recommend Deity with a caveat I've realized after reading other reviews. I don't know that the whole experience would work for highly-strung Bridezillas/Frankengrooms who obsess over every extraneous detail (though this is not to say Deity wasn't meticulous, they simply have a very, very well tested system that works yet has lots of room to feel personal). The vendors they work with (chef, DJ, staff) are AMAZING and truly made the day (Deity works with almost all the same vendors and coordinates almost all of the details which is HUGE). Jay (our planner) kept everything running smoothly and kept us in the loop. Our guests commented a lot on how they loved the space--especially the loft. The loft has TONS of windows and natural light. The staff made everyone feel at ease and kept them with drinks in their hands. They kept an eye on the two of us all night making sure we had what we needed but were otherwise ninja-like. The space is three floors--a loft-st... Read more

  • I looked high and low for a venue and feel so lucky to have found Deity. Putting on a wedding in NY can be tough on a budget and Caio was fantastic to work with from beginning to end. We held a daytime wedding in August and everyone continues to rave about the beautiful venue, delicious food and drinks, and amazing staff. I wanted a contemporary space and once I saw the loft where the ceremony and meal take place, I fell in love. The exposed brick room is flooded with natural and soft candle light, giving it a simply romantic feel. I loved the space so much that I did not add any of my own decorations--there was no need! There's plenty of space for a bride to do her last minute preparations (I did my hair and makeup at a nearby hotel and put on my dress at Deity). When our guests arrived, they were ushered into the main lounge which has plenty of comfortable seating and a spacious bar area. They were having such a great time with pre-wedding drinks that no one cared that we wer... Read more

  • Our wedding at Deity was amazing! From the beginning of planning until the end of the night, the owner and the staff executed everything flawlessly. Planning was incredibly easy. Caio, the owner, and Jay, the event planner, answered all of my questions promptly and were incredibly easy to work with. The venue itself is beautiful! The space is so exquisite and interesting that I didn't need to get floral arrangements. There is an incredible tree in the middle of the bar/lounge! The food was phenomenal and was served family style, which makes for a smooth and lovely dinner service! It makes dinner much more social. The house DJ, Ben, was great as well! He played incredible music and kept our guests on their feet until the very last song! I truly cannot recommend Deity enough! The night was perfect from beginning to end.!!

  • I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Deity and recommend them to the fullest extent! We had our wedding party there in June and everything was even better than I could've imagined. I was traveling a lot in the lead up and planning stages and Deity made it easy. Without any input, the party that they throw would be phenomenal, but they also accommodated any and all personalizations that we wanted, and even helped us to better form the ideas that we were hatching. Honestly it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. The food was great (and so many of our guests mentioned this during and after the party); the space is gorgeous (again our guests commented on this to us), the staff were perfect - professional, charming, and helpful; the drinks were delicious (and there were a few hangovers reported the next day); and the dancing was incredible! My husband and I were so pleased with everything and both sets of parents also had fantastic times with nothing but wonderful thi... Read more

  • Excellent. We had SO MUCH FUN at our wedding at Deity. The space was beautiful, and the staff was incredibly nice, organized, and helpful. First, the organizers: Camille was great to work with. Super prompt, responsive, friendly, professional. We planned everything with her ahead of time. She gave us a private walk-through of the space when we were still deciding on venues. Later, although we had already signed a contract, she invited us to an open house for prospective clients, and we were able to see the space again and try some of the food and drinks. This also allowed us to meet the DJ (Ben - he was great) and some of the other staff. At the event itself, Camille was there through the ceremony, and Jay took over after that. We hadn't met him before, so we were a bit nervous about the handoff (but it's understandable, since Camille works a long week!), but Jay was AWESOME. He was very kind, he treated all of our guests with love and respect, and he checked in with us consistently... Read more

  • The whole Deity team went above and beyond to make our wedding night special and a night to remember! From the planning to the day of our wedding, the staff was attentive, responsive and so helpful. On the day of our wedding they were on top of everything. They made sure to check-in with my husband and I and helped make the evening flow seamlessly. The decor was beautiful, the food was delicious and many of our guests were in awe at how beautiful the space was! Overall Deity made our wedding dreams come true and we cannot thank them enough for everything.

  • My husband Rhett and I got married at Deity late July. We were victims of the rebar closing--for those of you who aren't familiar, please google rebar, brooklyn and get wedding insurance--we paid in full to be married there and lost every penny! The reason I share this is that Deity's owners, Ciao and Christine, were our 'wedding angels'. THEY SAVED OUR WEDDING! They reached out to the jilted rebar couples on social media days after rebar's news broke (there were over 200 couples!) and then worked tirelessly over the next two weeks to meet with every couple who was interested in booking their space. They truly went out of their way to accommodate us and make planning our wedding a second time as painless as possible. It's been over three months since our wedding and our friends and family are still raving about our day! They loved that the night was broken up into three 'worlds' each floor has a different feel and truly keeps the party interesting! This is the 'Choose your own ad... Read more

  • Our wedding at Deity was everything we hoped for and more. Located in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn, it was easy to access for guests coming from in town and out. In fact, our guests traveled from three different countries and were all amazed at the city and Deity itself. The space is absolutely gorgeous and the staff helped to make it magical, working with us to give us the experience we desired. The personal attention and organization was thorough, prompt, and deeply appreciated. The food was outstanding and guests are still asking us to get the recipes from Deity's chef. The owners- Kristine and Caio - went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect. We could not have asked for a better experience!

  • We had our son's bar mitzvah party at Deity in June, 2014. It was a really beautiful event and we got loads of compliments from family and friends of all ages, both during and after. The food was great, the space is beautiful. The staff were helpful and easy to work with and they worked with us to stay within our budget. We used the main level (bar area and tree) for cocktails and lunch for the adults and the downstairs lounge level for dancing and the kids' party. They also have an upstairs room to add for a larger or more formal gathering.

  • We had a wonderful time at The Deity for our September wedding. They treated our guests like royalty, and were very accommodating. The food was amazing, DJ superb, ambiance beautiful, drinks were great, staff was incredibly attentive. I recommend this place to any bride that wants a funky, yet elegant, urban wedding.

  • We were married here in April and the service was exceptional. Camille, Jay, and the rest of the staff were extremely attentive and accommodating. They just "get" weddings." They understand that every couple will have their own unique set of requests and they went above and beyond to accommodate all of ours. All of our guests raved about the food, service, and ambiance. They nailed it. They made sure we were stress free and comfortable the whole evening and I am certain that we picked the right place to start this chapter of our lives together.

  • Deity was one of several Brooklyn venues offering discounts following the drama of reBar's closing/thievery. Caio, Jay, Camille and our DJ put everything together without a hitch, and each team-member was helpful, attentive, responsive and reliable. They recommended excellent local vendors (florist, cake, hair/makeup) within walking distance, all of whom were outstanding (particularly Betty's Bakery). Additionally, they welcomed our outside ceremony band, Penguin Music (penguinweddingmusicny.com) and our family minister from NJ, making the event a mix of elegant/romantic/hip. My husband read a passage from Dante, and at least three of our guests thought it very fitting for Deity with the ceremony on the top floor, a passed dinner in the street level space (complete with stained glass, candles, and the infamous indoor tree), and the former nightclub/bar downstairs. For a modern/rustic style wedding option in Brooklyn, we hope our photos speak for themselves!

  • Deity was a complete and total life saver for us. Our original venue, which we decided on without knowing Deity existed, shuttered its doors without notice and we had a few months to find a solution. Caio was so incredibly understanding and helpful, and his staff was no different- Camille, Jay, DJ Ben, everyone- made the whole planning process a breeze. Caio saved our date without a deposit and helped us with the payment schedule because of our situation. The space is phenomenal, though the main floor is a bit tight. Upstairs is a dream when the candles and lights are lit. Downstairs is a total party. I was worried it might be a little too "kitschy" but my guests had an incredible time. The food was also insane-- people raved over the duck quesadillas and the chicken and waffles. Our guests are still talking about the fillet from dinner (it's family style so remind your tables to ask for more if needed!) Wine on the table was a perfect touch! There were a few things that ... • The venue dazzled! Guests felt the place was comfortable -- space for the dancers, for the drinkers, for people who just wanted to sit and watch. A few mentioned that food was light and they didn't eat enough. As the bride and groom, we felt that plates and glasses were removed too quickly from tables, ledges, etc. For example, my husband has just started eating a piece of apple pie, when he turned to pose for a picture, put the pie down, and a minute later it was gone. Also, I was surprised that the bar tab reached $3500 so quickly. It was communicated that guests were drinking Prosecco which ran $9 a glass. We were unaware that this drink was on our list of offerings. We would never have allowed it! The DJ was great, played just the music we were in the mood for.
