Alright I’m going to preface this with the day of the wedding turned out beautiful, food was perfect, everything went smoothly. The venue and view is absolutely unbeatable. However, whim was tough to work with. They have bitten off more than they can chew. Too many weddings, not enough staff. You have to use whim catering and from November to our wedding in July we had 3 different consultants and one said she was going to be out about a week before our wedding. Made things stressful. For the price I expected a little more because it is not cheap. I will end with everything went beautifully, I’m glad I hired an outside planner and outside vendors for everything else or I might have lost my mind. But you cannot beat the venue for location, view, and the setting in the hill country is unreal!

Camp Lucy is a one-of-a-kind premier wedding venue. It is set in the beautiful Texas Hill Country, providing the ideal backdrop for any wedding photo. Our Austin wedding band, Uptown Drive considers Camp Lucy our home away from home. We LOVE being the event entertainment at this venue. Well organized staff, dreamy rustic setting, and classy indoor reception space. We can't say enough about this great venue!

My wedding at Sacred Oaks was absolutely stunning. Camp Lucy was the PERFECT Venue! The staff was so well prepared and knew exactly what to do in all situations. It made it so easy on me. The planning process was also very easy because every vendor in the Austin area either knows about Camp Lucy or has worked a wedding there before. As a matter of fact, my videographer was from Tulsa (my home town) and she even knew about Camp Lucy and was excited to FINALLY get to shoot there! I would 1000% recommend any future bride to choose Camp Lucy. I loved every second of it!!

The place was gorgeous!!!! They rooms were over the top! Camp fire, new restaurant nearby, pool, staff extremely helpful and friendly and the venue...oh my word...just breathtaking!

A most beautiful wedding at Camp Lucy, Sacred Oaks. Anna and Rowen worked with us to create exactly what our daughter envisioned. Beautiful floral, delicious food and the venue arranged exactly as we wanted. Every detail was attended to. The day of staff was fantastic too.

We had the best experience at Camp Lucy and they helped make our wedding day the best it could possibly be! Tara Blackwell was our coordinator who was AMAZING. She helped with all the details and gave us such great advice throughout all the planning. And on the day of, we would NOT have made it through without her. Rowen was in charge of the florals, and they were more beautiful that I could have imagined. She understood what "look" we were interested in and the bouquets and table arrangements got SO many compliments. It was perfect! Thank you to everyone at Camp Lucy!

Wow!!! Our daughters wedding last weekend at Ian's Chapel, Camp Lucy was AWESOME!! Words can not describe how incredible the staff of Camp Lucy and Whim Hospitality were. Professional, transparent, honest.....some of the best customer service I have ever experienced and I was in that industry for 40+ years. If you are looking for the PERFECT Texas Hill Country wedding....do not go anywhere else! Call Camp Lucy and make an appointment and I guarantee you will have your dream wedding! And....get Tara to be your Wedding Coordinator as she did not miss ONE SINGLE DETAIL! All of the staff are a 10+ star!

Our wedding was magical ! The staff at Camp Lucy is exceptional! Rachel and Cyndi the floral designers at camp Lucy are the most talented and most professional team I've ever worked with they go far beyond any expectations you will ever have to make your day beautiful !! Anna the catering director wears many hats and takes care of the wedding party like a wedding coordinator and she became a true friend to me that I will forever cherish as the mother of the bride ! The weather was so hot we had to move the cocktail party inside but no one noticed the change.. the staff magically made everything perfect for our guest!! Our guest were served ice water before the ceremony to keep everyone cool.. I can't say enough about the staffing at camp Lucy they go far beyond what they are asked to do customer service here is a 5.0 !!!

There is no place to be married that's more beautiful than Camp Lucy! We had originally thought of traveling to Italy for a destination wedding; however, Camp Lucy was just as romantic and lush and way more convenient for our family & friends. Everything was flawless, from start to finish!

Because Camp Lucy provides a number of services, we’ve reviewed it in separate parts. We used the Ian’s chapel area for our festivities, and we reserved all of the on-site lodging for our guests. We also used Whim for the catering (required) and the florals (optional). Venue -- 5 stars The venue was really beautiful, and having very nice lodging on-site was perfect for the wedding weekend we wanted. They helped organize activities (Val was great!), had campfires with smores, and enough general hang-out space that the groups of attendees really had wonderful opportunities to both spend time with friends and family they already knew and loved and also meet new folks through semi-structured activities. And we got to be present and participate in the fun as well. It was a really delightful time. Day of logistics were super smooth. We had no issues day-of. Read moreerall venue planning interactions -- 3 stars The overall planning process was okay but moderately unpleasant. The people we interacted with were always nice, but there were several very practical things that could have been more pleasant. From the beginning, we had to financially commit with a large non-refundable deposit to Camp Lucy (which meant we were committing to Whim as well) before we got any actual paperwork and/or firm pricing from Whim. That was extremely uncomfortable and seemingly entirely unnecessary. Also, we kept experiencing situations where they had told us they would do something and then either they didn’t do it or we had to remind them -- and then at some point one gave a pre-emptive “your welcome” for finally doing exactly what they had previously committed to doing. I wasn’t impressed. There was also quite a bit of annoyance in dealing with different people who didn’t communicate on their end, so we got inconsistent messaging with high frequency. Whim Catering (food and alcohol) -- 4 stars We thought the food was very good, although we aren’t particularly picky. We wished there would have been more cost-effective options than they offered, as the food and alcohol was an overall larger fraction of the total wedding budget than we originally planned for and would have expected to spend at another venue where we could control the food/drink options. Lodging office / logistics -- 1.5 stars This was a bit of a nightmare both in the entire time leading up to the weekend and during the weekend as well. The number of times we had to call and correct and re-correct errors they made on their end was a huge time sink and regular frustration. At one point, because we were checking our booking list regularly, we noticed that they had booked a new guest over a previous reservation, kicking the first one out without telling them. Because they were already full, they couldn’t even offer an alternate room to the over-booked group, and in apology they offered a pitifully small compensation to book at some not-very-nearby and expensive alternate option. I was disgusted. And then, incredibly, when we arrived, we found out that they had also booked over ANOTHER guest’s reservation, which we had missed. This meant a guest arrived with a reservation/confirmation and didn’t have a room available, causing no small hassle at the last minute to figure out alternative options. Again, the apology for their failure to keep their reservations straight was minimal at best. And then there were the issues with the breakfasts. They had originally told us they would have continental breakfast at the lodging office, then they told us they wouldn’t and would instead provide coupons for the on-site restaurant at far less than the cost of breakfast. After insisting, they finally ended up doing the continental breakfast. But every morning, they kept running out of food and taking forever to re-stock. Again, disappointing experience for us and our guests. I give them a bump to 1.5 stars here because one of their employees was competent (thanks Haley!) and the rooms were quite nice. Whim Florals -- 2 stars The flowers ended up looking nice, but the interactions leading up to the weekend were a pain. They consistently refused to listen to what we said we wanted and instead kept trying to tell us what we wanted. It turns out they were wrong, and when it came to it, we wish we would have insisted and actually gone more toward what we wanted. Rather unpleasant overall. In addition, they did nasty things like offering us a gift arrangement and then taking it away without any explanation. We really didn’t enjoy the florals interactions. Overall They have huge potential to be a 5++ star venue if there was improvement in management, especially with communication between Camp Lucy representatives and their approach to lodging reservations. The location and spaces are all beautiful in the Texas hill country. We ended up having a great time during our wedding weekend, I think in part because we had awesome guests who made the most of it. If you’re willing to keep an eye on Camp Lucy/Whim - keeping good records, standing your ground, and making sure they hear what you actually want, it can turn out great.

Our daughter's wedding was BEAUTIFUL!! Everyone at Camp Lucy were professional every step of the way. The staff there were amazing! And we can't say enough about our wedding coordinator---LOVE her!! I highly recommend any one considering a wedding venue--this is the place!

Beautiful venue with amazing service and exceptional food!

As far as the ceremony and reception site, nothing could have been more perfect. The Sacred Oaks venue is gorgeous, the reception facility was flawless and amazing, and the staff at the hall were great. The only trouble we had was with a security guard at night. They advertise a 24 hour check in, and when my guests tried to check in at 3am they were turned away, yelled at, and then had been threatened to have the police called on them. Earlier in the day people were allowed to check in to their shared rooms by giving the name of the person that made the reservation. However, at night they were told they had to give a room number, and threatened to eject my guests from the site as they tried to figure out their next steps. Luckily someone with a room saw them and let them crash on their pullout couch that night.
