  • Brides, listen up! If you've dreamed of a magical outdoor wedding nestled within a gorgeous garden property, look no further. Camellia Gardens could not have been a more perfect choice for my husband and I to host our wedding. After considering 89 other local venues (yes, that's right!), I convinced my to-be-husband to come look at Camellia Gardens with me despite our 'perfect date' already being booked. We both knew the moment we arrived to the property that we would get married there - no matter the date. Why, you ask? Well the property is privately nestled back from the road and other distractions. You're immediately greeted by a tranquil, garden-style backdrop to host your exclusive event for just the two of you and your closest friends and family... as if the property was gifted to you for the day. The site choices for your various events are endless, and nearly impossible to choose from, as they all offer their own unique touch and beauty. My husband and I chose to hos... Read more

  • This venue and the staff were so wonderful through the whole process!!! Marilyn is so lovely and was always super responsive to any questions I had. On the day of her and her staff took phenomenal care of the entire wedding party and the guests as well! I could not recommend them anymore!

Christina, Thank you for your kind words. We all so enjoyed being part of your wonderful wedding day. Even though we faced a rainy day, the sweet optimism shared by you, Travis, your wedding party, and family members kept the day happy and fun. What a joy to be around such lovely folks! Thanks for choosing Camellia Gardens for your wedding day! It was our pleasure being your venue! Marilyn Eudy

  • My new husband and I cannot say enough nice things about Camellia Gardens and about Marilyn!! Despite a nearly 2-year long wedding planning process (#thankscovid), there was never a doubt that Camellia Gardens was where we wanted to have our wedding. My then-fiance and I toured CG for the first time in January 2019 and, even after touring 11 other venues in the area, could not find a better setting or host that we felt confident would make our day happen the way we envisioned. None of them had the level of commitment to us as Marilyn was communicating she would be more than willing to give us. Our original date was set for April 2020, and we had multiple visits with Marilyn leading up to that point (April 2019 when she hosted a tent garden party for all of her couples and their families and May 2019 when our two sets of parents were in town and wanted a tour), and she had offered for our vendors to tour with her at their convenience. Marilyn always made sure the day was going to be abo... Read more

  • There’s so many things I could say about Camellia Gardens! First of all, the venue manager, Marilyn, is an absolute delight to work with! She is very responsive and professional! She takes great pride in this venue and for good reason! The venue is anything and everything you can look for in an outdoor and indoor venue! There are several options of locations on the grounds to hold your special day. Each wedding can truly be personalized! I had several people come up to me at the wedding and that contacted me after about how they can book with this venue! Just go visit the immaculate venue and it will speak for itself. This venue is the second place we looked at and we knew our search was over.

Marilyn was very professional and beyond helpful. She assisted us from the initial stages of planning until the day of the event. • My husband and I just had our wedding at Camellia Gardens on September 22. I did not know how much I would fall in love with a venue as much as I did after I toured it. The grounds are so well maintained that you do not see that too often. Marilyn is an absolute joy to work with! She is so kind, considerate, and responsive. The day of our wedding, which was shortly after the hurricane, I was not sure if it would be held outside. But, the weather was absolutely gorgeous that day!! The photo opportunities that come with the venue only make it that much better! One of my biggest concerns prior to touring venues was having grounds nice enough for my photographer, and this is what sold me on Camellia Gardens. There are so many areas throughout the venue that make amazing pictures. I could have not pictured a better venue to have our wedding at! We got many compliments on it! Thank you for everything, Marilyn! You are absolutely amazing! Worth every penny you pay, trust me!

Mallory, Thank you so much for your kind words. Your wedding was so amazing, the colors, the decor, that DRESS!. Our property was merely a backdrop for 2 absolutely wonderful families to come together (again, thank you Kiarra and Christopher!) for a truly joyous occasion. The pleasure was all mine! Thank you for choosing Camellia Gardens! Best wishes for a long and extraordinarily happy life together!

  • The venue is absolutely beautiful! We loved that there were many options for where the ceremony and reception could held including an indoor option if the weather is not optimal. Marilyn is very kind and was always easy to get in touch with if we had any questions.

  • If you're looking for a gorgeous indoor/outdoor venue that can accommodate both large and small groups, and you want a wonderful individual to work with, look no further than Camellia Gardens! My husband and I got married at Camellia Gardens in September of 2020. The wedding planning process can be so stressful, but Marilyn Eudy, the owner of Camellia Gardens, was so incredibly helpful and did everything she could to take the stress out of the event. From the moment you tour the location, you can tell that the grounds are meticulous and that Marilyn is committed to helping to make your day special. I also really appreciated that unlike other venues I toured, Marilyn wasn't pushy in any way. There are multiple beautiful locations to have the ceremony - a giant tree, an arbor overlooking a lake, and a small covered location for if it rains to name a few. Marilyn is also happy to prepare for an outdoor wedding while also making sure the covered location is set up in case it rains at the l... Read more

  • The venue itself is beautiful, but I would not recommend it to a friend because of all of the problems we encountered. Please be aware of the neighbor who is right next to the oak tree. During our ceremony the neighbor used a chain saw to cut down a tree, drove around revving his engine on a four-wheeler and then drove his car down the road where it back fired multiple times. The neighbor was aware a wedding would be taking place at 4:30 and was already asked once to please hold off on the chainsaw use until after the ceremony. The neighbors actions seemed spiteful. Marilyn, the venue owner, assured us the neighbor would not be a problem when we first viewed the venue. It is very hard to believe that this neighbor had never been an issue considering all of the problems he caused us. The venue owners husband was very rude to our DJ. Before any music had even began to play the husband was very harsh with the DJ and threatened to "pull the cord" if the music was too loud. On the dance flo... Read more

  • Marilyn and Mitch of Camellia Gardens should absolutely be ashamed of themselves. 2 weeks prior to our wedding, they called us and made us drive over an hour to meet with them and told us we need to cut our list of 150 guests (which was just fine less than 12 hours ago at our final meeting) to 75 guests. Mitch looked at my wife and I and stated verbatim, “People don’t really like weddings anyway. There’s been plenty of times where I’ve been on my way to a wedding and decided I don’t want to go, so I just turn around.” How could the owner of a WEDDING venue say a thing like that? Especially to the party that has paid in full to have the wedding there? Marilyn and Mitch both stated the reason for them making changes (again 2 weeks prior to our wedding) is due to COVID. We completely understood their concerns and agreed to have our guests sign waivers and maintain a safe distance between each other due to it being an all outdoor wedding. Marilyn and Mitch both stated that wasn... Read more

We would like an opportunity to set the record straight regarding this review. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the governor of our state handed down an executive order in June restricting outdoor events (including wedding receptions) to a maximum of 25 guests. There was nothing that we could do to change this order. We offered the couple the opportunity to reschedule their wedding, but they refused. In trying to be accommodating and solving a difficult problem for all of our 2020 couples, we came up with the idea to take 3 of our covered outdoor spaces and set those up for dinner seating for our clients so that we could accommodate up to 75 of their guests. Despite the fact that going against the governor’s order was a Class II misdemeanor with punishment of fines and/or imprisonment, and as the reviewer works for the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Department, it is surprising that she would ask us to break the law by allowing more than 25 guests in one space for her reception. I understand the disappointment that any bride would have because of the orders handed down by the governor, but to blame us for those restrictions and making it look like we asked them to reduce the number of guests just because we wanted to is completely wrong. Our goal is and has always been to make every wedding day perfect, but when we must abide by rules that we did not make we are not to blame for the disappointment. We were willing to set up multiple reception sites to accommodate as many guests as possible under the governor’s restrictions even though our contract specifically states that one site will be provided. We offered the opportunity to reschedule next year, even at a financial loss to our business. The bottom line is that this wedding was a casualty of the COVID restrictions and if anyone should be ashamed, it is the law enforcement official who demanded that a business put itself at risk to break the law for her event. Even worse would have been a outbreak of COVID on our property when their reception turned into a mass gathering with no social distancing and no masks.
