  • We were a college group returning home from Washington DC, and stayed overnight in Roosevelt and Lincoln houses. We arrived late in the evening, and everything was all set up for us- including extra rollaway beds to accommodate our larger crew- the rollaways were arranged in short order after a quick phone call- excellent flexibility and accommodation of our needs! Both houses were cozy and neat, and we had a great overnight stay- and when daylight came we were treated to beautiful scenery!

  • Caboose Farm and their manager/staff were amazing. While we did not actually have the wedding at the event barn (which is amazing), we did host a lunch in the upstairs bar area the day after the wedding. They have an amazing caterer who is super friendly and flexible. Her food was so delicious and presentation was perfect. We stayed at the Washington House next to the event barn which held so many of our guests (16 people). The 7 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 '1/2 baths' were so convenient. One bedroom and bath is handicap accessible. In fact, the whole area (house, event barn, upstairs bar area) are all handicap accessible. Everything is upgraded including appliances, plumbing, heat/ac. Such a wonderful view and plenty of relaxation areas. Swings, fire pit, patio ~ couldn't ask for more. Toys for little ones. The staff checked in regularly and we so appreciated the conversations. You will never go wrong with checking them out for your wedding weekend ~ after all, weddings ... Read more

  • We were a large family with 10 kids and multiple relatives and friends coming from 1,600 miles away. The staff at Caboose farm was wonderful to deal with from reservation to check out. We were able to coordinate the long weekend and a dinner for 50 people all remote and with minimal effort. When we arrived everyone's first comment was "WOW what a nice house". The house was an old farm house that was redone and very accommodating to a large group. It had everything we needed multiple beautiful bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen and plenty of room to entertain friends and family. Then the 'Barn'.... it was a perfect venue to host a dinner for family and friends the on site caterer was fantastic to deal with and the food was excellent. Finally on the Wedding day.....the pictures around the house and property where gorgeous. Caboose farm was great all around. We highly recommend it

  • This was the first venue we saw, and ended up being the only one. We fell in love with the the setting, the reception area, and the fact that family and friends can stay on the property. The fact that we get the farm for the entire weekend is exactly what I was looking for for our wedding. Cherry on top is Colby, the property manager. He could not be more friendly or more accommodating. Answering all questions, providing all options, and overall making us comfortable and beyond excited for our wedding next September.

  • Caboose Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding! The setting is 200 acres of serene and beautiful countryside, nestled in the rolling green hills of Maryland’s Appalachian mountains. The higher elevation means cooler temperatures, so our outdoor August wedding was comfortable and minimally sweaty, even in suit jackets. Caboose borders Catoctin Mountain Park, and is just 3 miles from the Appalachian Trail, so it couldn’t be easier to immerse yourself in gorgeous and expansive woodland. Also on the property are trails, a stream, a small lake, and huge open grassy areas. Dulles airport, Reagan airport, Baltimore airport, and Washington, DC are all under one-and-a-half hours from Caboose, so it’s relatively easy to get to for both local and international guests. Besides the natural beauty of Caboose Farm, we chose this as our wedding venue because of its capacity to host 60+ people on the property. We had a lot of international guests, and wanted a venue that could host them o... Read more

  • We are so grateful to Caboose Farm. We had to postpone our larger celebration due to covid-19, but we wanted to get married on our original date. I posted a fb request for suggestions for a Frederick County location to hold our very socially distant ceremony(we had a Frederick County license.) At the time, the state rule was gatherings fewer than 10 people, and we were smaller than that. Colby at Caboose Farm messaged me right away. He met me at the venue and I followed his car in mine, while he showed me places we could have the ceremony. It is a beautiful venue, with a lot of lovely areas to celebrate. We will forever be grateful for the kindness of Colby and Caboose Farm.

  • Colby and his staff were incredible. We had our rehearsal dinner on Caboose Farms but booked all the houses out. Wedding venue (Thorpewood) was right down the road and made it a perfect spot to keep all the family and wedding party! We’re already planning our next family reunion up there. Thanks again Colby!

  • We are so happy we had our wedding at Caboose Farm! Colby and the whole staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Colby answered all my questions over the months of planning and was very flexible about what we wanted, providing helpful suggestions too. Despite not having rented the reception barn for Friday, we were able to set up our décor the night before, which took a lot of stress out of the day-of events, and the finishing touches the staff (led by Katy) completed were spot-on. The setting is beautiful and the ability to have family and the wedding party stay on the property make it such a great venue. It was so convenient to have a place to stay and get ready all right there. We loved the unique features of the caboose, the hay ride, and the seclusion... and our guests did too. You are required to use their caterer. Now, the food is amazing so that’s not a bad thing, but they only do a couple seasonal tastings. We didn’t realize that until after we’d booked the venue.
