Our plans changed dramatically with the pandemic, and we felt lucky to have such a special wedding during a difficult time. Much of the credit goes to Kirsten. While I was stressing about masks, social distancing and safety, she remained focused on beauty and meaning. I expected exceptional locally grown flowers, which of course she provided, but I didn’t expect the personalized attention to detail that added meaning to our ceremony. From creating a truly special flower-framed space for our outdoor ceremony to suggesting a source for a lovely handmade wedding guest book, Kirsten was a wonderful consultant for beautiful touches at every turn. I'm thrilled I found Blue Morning Glory in time for our wedding! I loved collaborating with Kirsten during the planning process (she totally got what I was going for), and she was a great second opinion when I was obsessing over bouquet ribbons or flower girl baskets. Kirsten is very thoughtful and conscientious—she treated every tiny detail with such care. When I first started planning our wedding, I wasn't even sure I wanted flowers since I know that conventional flowers are generally not sustainable. Then I found Kirsten and I was so happy to find an eco-friendly florist in Kansas City who even grows her own flowers! We ended up using a combination of her locally grown, seasonal flowers with some carefully sourced peonies and roses. When I look back at our wedding, I can't imagine it without Kirsten's beautiful designs. The flowers were just gorgeous and I still can't get over how beautifully my bouquet turned out. I could not have been happier with our wedding florals from Blue Morning Glory. Kirsten was simply a joy to work with, and of course the florals were breathtaking. I had already visited with several florists before finding Kirsten, but I didn’t feel like I “clicked” with any of them. However, after a phone call and email exchange of photos with Kirsten, I could tell she completely understood my vision for our big day and I felt completely at ease. I cannot recommend Kirsten highly enough. She made our daughter’s wedding meaningful as well as beautiful. She made this a truly local wedding by combining flowers from my garden (at our request) and her farm. At her suggestion, sacred space was created with brome hay and greenery from our farm. Vases from the wedding of the bride’s great-grandparents were filled with flowers. Thank you, thank you.

I really enjoyed working with Kirsten! She helped me think about what I wanted and narrow it down to specifics and was always prompt in responding to my emails. She is obviously experienced and has worked enough events to know what is needed. I didn't even think to ask about it but she helped me work through how exactly I would hang the decorations on the pews and provided a couple heavy-duty hooks to hang my garland over the thick baptistry wall in the church (they worked perfectly!) And, of course, the flowers and greenery were GORGEOUS! They were exactly the style I was hoping for. I loved the from-the-field look and the use of different kinds of plants.

From my first contact with Kirsten, I knew she was going to be my favorite part of the wedding planning process. She and I connected on an artistic level and she was so willing and excited to bring my floral ideas to life for the wedding day. To even try and explain how beautiful, perfect, inspirational, special and intentional the bouquet, corsages, boutonnières, all of it were on the day, I just can’t. Her choices of flowers and how they were arranged just brought the historic schoolhouses, where we had the wedding and reception, alive. I am extremely happy with the way everything turned out.

Kirsten is so loving in her craft. Danny and I didn’t know what flowers we wanted but we had a feeling we wanted to convey with our loved ones on our wedding day. We told her our love story. Why we picked Late Summer early fall wedding. We told her our favorite foods and what we’ll be eating at the reception. She not only incorporated romantics colors we loved, but she incorporated scents and textures into our special day such as lemon balm sprinkles down the aisle and where we exchanged vows, so you got a burst of lemon scent as you moved through the space. The show stopper was our amazing floating backdrop made from hops. It was a majesty to be be married in front of such an amazing art piece. Our day was made more special by Kirsten’s flowers and imagination.
