  • Belhurst Castle is a beautiful spot to have a wedding at any time of the year. The special event team gives you an outline of options to help plan for every detail. They even have a list of preferred vendors that they share, which is a huge help for anyone planning a destination wedding. It was wonderful for us to find a reception spot where guests could stay on site. The bar and winery also gave guests something to do before and after the wedding, which was nice. The food was amazing and our guests had a great time at the wedding.

  • My husband and I chose Belhurst for a number of reasons 1) VALUE 2) The whole experience for the guests (i.e - Being able to stay, experiencing the whole castle effect, breakfast/brunch in morning) 3) Carmen seemed ( and WAS!) very professional, experienced and had it all down to a science. Our tasting went very well! They cater to you like you are ROYALTY! We had our ceremony in the Meritage ballroom & our reception in the Castle ballroom. The whole day was ABSOLUTELY incredible - if you are not satisfied here, there is something wrong with you! My family especially & all my guests said it was the BEST wedding they had been to, and I believe it! I would recommend BELHURST CASTLE TO ANY BRIDE WITH ANY BUDGET! I can't wait to write a thank you card titled to the whole staff! I am eternally grateful! 5 STARS!

  • We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Belhurst Castle on 9/9/12. The beautiful setting on the water and historic castle made for the perfect wedding venue for us. We had almost 200 guests and the space was plenty large enough to accomodate. Carmen Brennan, the wedding planner, was absolutely fantastic. I don't know how anyone can say any different. She was wonderful and took care of everything the day of the wedding and leading up to it. She met with us when we needed and was available to answer any questions or concerns that we had. She responded promptly to emails and phone calls. All in all this was the most amazing venue for our wedding because of the beautiful ambiance and wonderful staff who all contributed to making our day special.

  • Pros: This is a HUGE value and now one stop for everything: rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, dinners, ceremony, reception, and catering. I got my hair, nails, and makeup done here as well, but only wish that I had gotten the massage! They just opened this salon that is AMAZING-Try to get Brandon! The restaurants are delicious and overlook the lake. The coordinator Carmen is very down to earth and is very easy to work with. IT'S A CASTLE! What more could you want!? Cons: The rehearsal dinner did not go very well but overall the wedding is what counts and that went off without a hitch! :-)

  • while the location was beautiful, and the coordinator genuinely friendly, the price was far too high for the minimal service provided: friendly or not, the wedding coordinator absent from rehearsal (miscommunication? too busy w/other clients?) prime rib was fattiest i've ever been served (and most expensive...) guest room at white castle had mold on ceiling over shower and spackling patches of recent incomplete bathroom repairs. guest comment box hadn't been emptied for at least several weeks, so they don't even want to know? comment form indicated 'ask at front desk' for info on completing a full survey for chance at gift certificate - no one at front desk knew any details and website does NOT have a place to comment - they only include snippets of selected positive reviews.

  • We had an outdoor ceremony on the lawn overlooking Seneca Lake, outdoor Cocktail Hour, and our reception was in the Castle Ballroom. We had approx. 75 guests in late October. The morning stated out raining and overcast and by the time we started our pictures outside before the ceremony it had cleared up and was a beautiful 65-70 degree day! Carmen and Stephanie were both very helpful and professional. We booked the Turret Room for the day/night of the wedding so we could get ready before hand and spend the night. Wish they would give a discount on the room especially for the Bride and Groom but they do not. Had to pay full price and it was not ready for when we were for early check in. We had a special menu setup for me and my ladies delivered to the room. Food was amazing!!! Room was clean/spotless. They set up all the chairs for our ceremony, and outside cocktail hour without us worrying about a thing. The ballroom looked fantastic!! My one and only complaint was we had a candy bar w... • We planned our wedding at the Belhurst after seeing the gorgeous Meritage Ballroom. After a brief period where it was difficult to get in touch with Carmen, we were given Stephanie's contact info as well. From that point forward - it was smooth sailing. The venue itself is worth it because of its beauty and location, but the food was delicious too! They have a salmon dish here that is to die for. Fantastic portions - more than enough - and everyone loved the food! The room is gorgeous and fit our 130 well. If you are looking for a site that includes all table decor - just realize that the Belhurst doesn't include anything besides table linens which are beautiful but we ended up doing our own overlays. We also brought in chiavari chairs to really bring it home. We couldn't have asked for a more amazing an beautiful reception and we know our guests felt it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been to.

  • Wonderful place. Very pretty. Carmen was the greatest. A really busy place though rushed around the day after to clean up bc they were going to charge us when they promised us late check out. Also had another wedding right after ours outside and so my guests were being sushed during our cocktail hour, did not like that.

  • We had our wedding reception here on April 21st, 2012 and it was the most perfect day. We were planning from Boston, MA and chose the Belhurst because it had everything - rooms, a spa, a ceremony space (which we didn't end up using), wine tasting and the best priced wedding package of all the places we looked at in the finger lakes (about 10). In addition, it was the most beautiful building and grounds in our opinion. Working with Carmen and Stephanie ended up being wonderful. Carmen knows absolutely everything about planning a wedding there - there was not a question she couldn't answer. The only thing that was even a little bit negative was that it was sometimes hard to get a response from them - they are understandably busy, but this was a bit stressful for this busy bride. That being said, every question I emailed them about was addressed when we did finally connect. On the weekend of, they were so incredible and accommodating, I was blown away. The day was just perfect, and I ... Read more

  • My wedding at the Belhurst was great. We had the wedding outside. The food was great. Everything went great except for the fact that I wanted a receiving line and they didn’t do this for me. I ended up going around to each table and my dinner was cold. We discussed doing a receiving line and Carmen seemed surprised that I wanted one. I guess a lot of brides do not do this anymore. It all worked out and it was great. Carmen is very good at what she does. It was extremely hard to get a hold of Carmen. She needs an assistant that takes care of brides farther out. Carmen was attentive a few weeks prior. Everyone was great except the hotel front desk was rude. I had people call and they said they have no wedding by that name going on. Even the day after all the tuxes were left there they said they were not. I saw them when they opened the door for something else. It was all the same girl at the front desk we had problems with. I hope they fix that problem. The food was gr... Read more

  • I would not recommend Belhurst to any upcoming brides. There are SEVERAL places within the Finger Lakes that are just as romantic and beautiful, with a professional, attentive staff.None of our guests, nor my husband and I, will ever return to Belhurst Castle, for any reason. The price we ended up paying for the wedding was very reasonable compared to a lot of wedding venues. However, if we could do it over, we would not have gotten married here.

  • Belhurst is an amazing venue. The scenery and landscape are gorgeous and provide endless beautiful backdrops for your photos. We took advantage of almost everything this beautiful site had to offer. The new spa is wonderful and they offer airbrushed makeup which I had done and still looked flawless after the ceremony and a 7 hour reception! Carmen (the wedding coordinator) is extremely pleasant and helpful and she will make sure your big day is perfect! She may be difficult to get ahold of at times, but rest assured she takes care of everything when it counts! The food was delicious. The Turret suite is exceptional - myself and my nine (yes, nine) bridesmaids plus mothers and extras all got ready there with plenty of room. Every guest who stayed at the Belhurst loved it and some are even planning to return for a romantic getaway. Be aware though that to reserve any rooms for yourself and/or guests you will need to pay for at least one night at booking. We also invited our ove... Read more

  • I had my ceremony and reception at Belhurst. I was married outside on the lawn and had my reception in the Meritage Ballroom. It was beautiful and everyone loved it. The service was excellent and we had a server attending to us the entire day making sure my husband and I had food and drinks. The value was VERY good for the price. I had heard their food wasn't that great, but everyone really enjoyed it at our wedding. We were able to have appetizers out on the patio. Everyone had a wonderful time. My only complaint was that the venue coordinator is very hard to get a hold of because she is so busy. However, the week before the wedding she was very good about being in touch. Overall, I would wholeheartedly recommend Belhurst Castle.
