Your review is disappointing and contains multiple statements that are false and that you knew to be false when you published them. I am disappointed that you would choose to lie about what happened and try to hurt my business. You were very clear that you expected my business to incur a MUCH larger portion of the negative financial impact that COVID had on YOUR wedding than what you were willing to accept. That is simply unfair. Here are some facts you conveniently failed to mention: 1. You changed your date without ever reaching out to me and only told me three weeks before your original date, even though you had obviously made the decision much, much earlier. 2. I offered you an option to move your wedding to 2021 without paying a new deposit and you refused to take it because it wasn't the specific date you wanted. 3. I offered you the option of working on a contingency: if no one contacted me for your new day, I would waive the deposit requirement. If someone inquired about your new day and I had to pass on another wedding, you agree to pay a new deposit. You refused that offer. 4. Your mother called and literally yelled at me on the phone and tried to intimidate me by threatening a lawsuit against my business. 5. We passed up other weddings because we were honoring the contract we signed with you. 6. We worked 5 weddings in the month of July. People ARE getting married and your choice to move your date was NOT required. It was optional. 7. You signed a contract that says the deposit is 50%. You agreed to that deposit amount and had no complaints about it when signing the contract. In fact, you mentioned in a conversation that you appreciated the flexibility we offered for payment. While your statement is intended to mislead readers into thinking it was a very large amount of money, the actual dollar amount was $650. 8. You signed a contract with a non-refundable deposit. I did not hide the fact that the deposit was non-refundable. It was plainly stated in the contract. 9. I never said I could not afford to refund the deposit. I refused to refund it in the manner you demanded. I said if I refunded every deposit for every voluntary wedding change, there was a chance I wouldn't be in business next year. 10. Virtually every other couple has agreed to the same exact terms I offered you and many of them have stated how fair they felt the terms were. No one but you has complained or yelled or threatened to sue me. Jeff Meadows and Courtney LaMarre, at the end of the day, this is YOUR party and YOUR responsibility. Maybe nobody has ever told you this, but you are both adults. Nobody forced you to have a big wedding and by making the decision to have a big wedding, you also made the decision to take on the risk of having a big wedding. That is YOUR risk, not mine. Not any other vendor. If a vendor offers you a concession...any concession...they are agreeing to lose income for YOU. Be respectful of that selflessness by the vendors. Don't have your mom call and threaten people because the concession is not big enough to suit you. That's not what adults do. You knew what contracts you were signing when you signed them. I didn't cause COVID and it wasn't my idea for you to reschedule your wedding. I offered you multiple options for rescheduling that didn't include a new deposit, but you refused them because it wasn't exactly what you wanted. You demanded that I be flexible with all of your desires, but refuse to offer any flexibility of your own. And then you make yourselves liars by publishing this review. It's very disappointing. Everyone is doing what they can during this difficult time to just get by. Everyone is doing their best to give and understand and be flexible. Well...everyone but you. You refused to be flexible. You had to have everything exactly your way. I'm sorry we couldn't do that for you. Best of luck.
